Heyyyy Eighth Doctor fandom,
Off for the summer and almost finished on Gallifrey so my next thought is to listen to some Eight stuff. My question is, however, where to start? Do I watch chronologically all the way through from the first Charley stuff - or even the Mary Shelley stuff - up to Ravenous? Do I pick the famous ones like scherzo to start with? And is there a guide anywhere on which episodes to miss out of some are a bit shit.
Also could I just randomly watch Dark eyes 3? (narvin fan here) Or would I be a bit too confused as it's in the middle of a series of box sets?
Here are two Eighth Doctor Big Finish guides, with the stories I would consider most necessary in Bold. (There are some spoilers if you look too close at the companions/returning villains columns, be warned)
The first is for the Eighth Doctor Adventures range, starting with Lucie Miller, going through Dark Eyes, and up to the most recent release. I’ve also included the Time War and Susan stories in there, because they are very much connected.
The second is for the Charley Pollard arc.
The Charley arc is certainly cheaper to get into, and there are more great stories earlier on, but overall I might prefer the 8DAs.
If you’re just looking to get to the Narvin stories, start at Dark Eyes 1 and work through the whole little series (they can be bought as a bundle). There will be big spoilers for the previous stories though.
You can also check out the War Master and New Adventures of Bernice Summerfield ranges for even more Narvin
