This photo was taken when I was 1 and a half years old. Last night when I was looking for some pictures, I found this picture. I showed this to my mom and she started telling the story behind this photo. When my mother and my father got married, they had my brother. Their first born. They decided that my dad needs to go abroad to support the family they’re starting. When my brother was going four years old, and I was 1 and a half, my father had his first visit going back to the Philippines after being apart with us. My mother gave birth to me without my father by her side. And as I grow, I haven’t seen my father until I was going two years old. My mother said, when my father entered the house, I ran away from him and started crying because he is a big man and I got scared at him. I think that story was the most special story for my father because it was his first time to see me. And I value that story a lot because every time our family is going to have a conversation about us being innocent and tiny, I can see in the eyes of my parents how precious that moment is for them. I also consider this moment as one of my most memorable moment because we might seem to look really innocent before, but when you checked yourself now, you’ll see how far you’ve come. I know sooner, I will feel the same feelings my parents felt when I came and I know it will be the next most precious time of mine in the near future. That is why family was the very most special part of our life. Starting from the little child who seems to have the world in her feet. And I guess who am I today was because of my parents. Their pure love and support. Their commitment to light us and guide us as we became ready, like what I’ve said before, my father still chose to go abroad and work to Japan in exchange of him missing the most memorable part of every fathers life. And I think those kind of sacrifices was the pure type of love. Where you will just choose to sacrifice all the things you want for the people whom you purely love.
Now, as we grew older, the more our eyes see the future and the dream we’ve always wanted. Its been 17 years and it was really mesmerizing that my parents was still working for that long time for us. And that is why family is love. And nothing could ever destroy the family who are build with the foundation of love and improved with problems and challenges. I know a lot more things, challenges, experiences, and stories that we might encounter but I am ready. Because I have my strong family. And to have a strong family, all the members of it must continue growing. Must continue learning. And must go and travel each journey with strength, continue to support each other and motivate them and have a strong faith with God.
