Mita wandered the street tears streaming down her cheeks. The three year old had been abandoned by her mother and had no idea what to do. She was cold, hungry and scared. It was raining hard and she wasn’t wearing any warm clothes. She only had her short skort and pink tee shirt, as well as her toy cat Emmaline. It was getting dark and she whimpered

Mikey sat on the fire escape, rubbing some water out of his eyes as he suddenly heard the cry of a young girl. He looked up and over the rail, seeing a small child walking alone in the rain. Why was she alone? Where was her mother and father? Or just one of them? The orange clad terrapin furrowed his brow, he couldn’t just let her walk by him like that, not in this weather, so without a second thought, he jumped over the rail, landing smoothly beside her.

"Hey, little one.. What’s wrong?" He asked gently, tilting his head to the side. He didn’t really know how to handle kids, but he knew that being gentle was probably the best idea in this situation.

Mikey looked at her, feeling her forehead. She looked a little pale to him, and he also found out, that she had a slight fever. He smiled gently at her, as he walked down the sewer pipe “Until I figure out what to do, then yeah, you’ll live here… But not permanently..” He was only a teen, he couldn’t take care of a child on his own. But until she was well, he would take care of her. And maybe afterwards, he should try and find her mother. She needed to be told a thing or two.

Mikey held the child a little closer, patting her back, as he entered his own, secret hideout. He gently set her down on a big pile of pillows and blankets that he had organized as a form of bed. He wrapped her body in a blanket, to give her some heat “Would you like something to eat? Or something to drink?”

Mikey gently led her to a sewer entrance, lifting off the lid. He gently lifted her up, holding her firmly as he crawled in, placing the lid back in place, befor he crawled all the way down. He smiled at her, holding her gently “We’re going to my secret hideout.. I have blankets there and stuff.. You’ll be safe and dry there, okay?” He couldn’t bring her to the lair, but he could at least bring her to a secret place he’d made, for when he needed to be alone.

He was just walking home when he saw a child walking on his own on the streets. He noticed that she was crying and decided to talk to her. He kneeled in front her. “Hey kiddo…what’s wrong? Why are you crying?”
