The Priestess and the Warrior trilogy!
Neil Gaiman on what stories do for the human spirit and how they last for generations.
Wow, here is a thrilling review of Awaken! "AWAKEN" A 7-8 Star Enchantment. By Wright. - May 2, 2015 Amazon Verified Purchase Anyone who has ever had a love of Renaissance and Yesteryear, should read this. I will not go into the storyline as it would spoil the can't put it down suspense. But I am sitting on pins and needles hoping Book 2 is flowing through this Authors mind and will be available soon.Ms Clapton is a Wonderful spinner of tale. Her ability to pull you out of your own world and transport you in time is extraordinary. With a representation of description, no detail is left out. The Main characters Pinky/Aimi and Tyr/ immediately make you aware of the emotional magical storm flowing between them, a storm that follows through eternity. The Priestess and the Warrior- embrace the beauty and strength of a healing woman who can and will stand up to and beside a strong willed and passionate warrior, and together lead their people through a time we can only dream of. This story is engaging, and the characters have great depth. Readers of All genre will be quite thrilled and as I, waiting for the next installment of this series. Bravo Ms Clapton!
New blog entry about my new books and New Orleans!
A New Five Star Review of Awaken
I like books, all kinds of books By michael - April 5, 2015Amazon Verified PurchaseFirst, I am a reader. I like books, all kinds of books. I want the books I read to deliver. If I am reading a biography, I want to meet this person, walk with them, and be able to say, this is his/her favorite dessert. If I read a book on history. I want to step back in time so that if I suddenly found my self transported back I could get along very well there. So when I picked up Victoria Clapton's " Awaken" I wanted to escape, and yes, I escaped. Boy, did I ever!! Ms. Clapton has a gift for telling a story so real that you can hear the sea, smell the forest in the early morning, and see the emotions of the people. A story so well told that you are there and that is escapism. Read this book and you will leave this mundane world. You might just fine out that you have been" Awaken" to some new revelations about your own past. I highly recommend all of Ms. Clapton's books for any of those out there who would say, "I am a reader".

Awaken: The Priestess and the Warrior
A lovely Review!!!
A wonderful tale of love across time. By Miri - February 19, 2015Author Victoria Clapton has done it again. This time, the story she tells is a bit more elaborate with multiple facets. She gives us two stories weaved into one. On one count, we have Pinky who is haunted by vivid memories of other lives, which makes it hard for her to fit in our society. Then we have Aimi, the girl from one of Pinky's vision, a priestess captured to be sold as a sex slave, and bought by a man with a kind heart, Tyr.I love the author's voice in this mysterious tale. I especially loved how she blended the two stories together, present, and past, using a Renaissance Faire. Lured to go to one of these events to help with her history grades, Pinky meets new people, people who don't judge her but strangely seem to understand her. They gently coax her to tell the story of Aimi. So by day, we get to know Pinky and her faithful friend Jett, and during the evening and night, we sit around a fire and live Aimi's life.I have to admit that although I liked Pinky, and I loved discovering things with her, I was always eager for the story to return to Aimi. She's a strong heroine and her adventures are quite extraordinary. I found myself reading Pinky's turn just a little bit more to see if Aimi would returns soon and if she did, then I would go on reading. This made it hard to put the book down.I was given this eBook back in June. The author wanted my opinion. When I saw she had finally published it, I re-read it and I have to confess I never re-read books because I just can't find the same thrill I got the first time I read them. Awaken has shown me that books can still be enjoyed just as much the second time around. I'm looking forward for the next installment.

I just ordered a couple of your books from a used book store. I've always wondered what authors think about used books since you're not being compensated. I hope you don't think less of me.
I think it’s great.
Back in 2003, I said on my blog, and still believe:
…don’t ever apologise to an author for buying something in paperback, or taking it out from a library (that’s what they’re there for. Use your library). Don’t apologise to this author for buying books second hand, or getting them frombookcrossing or borrowing a friend’s copy. What’s important to me is that people read the books and enjoy them, and that, at some point in there, the book was bought by someone. And that people who like things, tell other people. The most important thing is that people read…
I wholeheartedly agree!

Opened 1795. The Cabildo was the seat of colonial government in New Orleans, Louisiana, and is now a museum. The Cabildo is located along Jackson Square, adjacent to St. Louis Cathedral.
