Kaiden shut the door to their apartment behind him, leaning down to unhook the leashes to give the dogs free reign as he headed further inside. “Yes.” He said, little hesitation in the grin that flashed across his face as he found his wife. “No.” Kaiden added a moment later with a laugh. “It’s always weird right after the holidays.” 

Victoria was married. It was still such a weird statement for her, especially when she considered that her husband was Kaiden. Once upon a time she wouldn’t think he would even look in her direction and now they were married. “I think it was just the first year everything felt perfect, and I don’t want anything to change. Which I understand how that sounds but I never thought I would have all my dreams come true, and they have.” She reached out for him to come over to her.

“No, I don’t think so.” Allison promised, offering her daughter a small smile. Holidays the first few years home had been difficult, but this year had been happy. Between Stiles coming home and her daughters together, it almost felt as complete as it could. “It was a good Christmas.”

“It was just the first Christmas that felt like actual Christmas. I don’t want it to be over yet,” Victoria admitted heavily as she dropped her head to her mother’s shoulder. “But I’m glad that you and dad were able to enjoy it together. I was getting to think that it was never going to happen again.”

Victoria wasn’t sure if she was grateful for the holiday season to be over or if she was dreading the fact that now things would be going back to normal. She was wiping off the table in front of her. “Is it bad I’m already missing the holidays?” she asked no one specific as she sighed.

“Right, okay.” Dia laughed, shaking her head. “I guess we can go with that, then.”

“How are things with my little man though? He stopped growing finally right?”

“Present,” Kaiden called with a laugh, the dog jumping off the bed and running toward the sound of the door. He wouldn’t ever get over the reminder they actually had gotten married, but that was probably a good thing.

Victoria was a Lahey, which was surprisingly the weirdest part of being married. Or perhaps it was the fact that she was the luckiest girl to be married to Kaiden, but she knew he tended to call her biased. She leaned down greeting their dog with a quick kiss and a warm hug before deciding to find her husband. “So I have some news.”

“Well, however you want to celebrate it, we will. Whatever you want.”

“I’ll have to think about it then. I just know I want you around.”

“Does it still count as kidnapping if I’m agreeing to go willingly?”

“it isn’t, but it makes me feel cooler saying that’s what’s happening.”

“Husband,” Victoria called out as she closed the door behind her. She couldn’t get tired of calling Kaiden her husband, she was sure though he was tired of hearing it.

“Trust me, I could definitely use it. I’ve been going through withdrawals.”

“I think we can cure it though I’m selfish enough to kidnap you.”

“Trust me, I could definitely use it. I’ve been going through withdrawals.”

“And maybe sometime soon we’ll do a girls day with mom.”

kaidenlahey‌:

“Okay, now I just want to test that.” Kaiden laughed, following her to the car.

“I mean if you really want to try and test it we have our entire lives to do so. Just know whatever you do I get to return the favor.”

“I’ll probably take you up on that. It’d be nice to get some girl time in.”

“I know that we both could probably use it if we’re being honest. Or at least I know I really could use spending some time with you.”

alliscnstilnski‌:

“They would love that, Vic. But really, it should be what you want. They would understand.”

“They would understand, but I’m also not opposed to actually celebrating us.”

“I’m sure if you wanted to, we could probably talk Dia out of it. Hadlee wouldn’t listen though, she’s…well, Hadlee.”

“But if we can’t control Hadlee we might as well let Dia have her fun too.”

“We did. There was a party after because Lydia and my dad refused to let the chance ease up, but the ceremony was just us in the courthouse.”

“Yeah I highly doubt that Hadlee won’t let it go without a party to celebrate and Dia won’t be too far behind her.”

“I’m not mad. If anything, I’m sad I didn’t get to see you get married, but me and your dad did the same thing, so I don’t have any room to talk.”

“You and dad eloped?” Victoria asked raising her eyebrows, “I didn’t know that.”

“I’m happy you got that. You and Kaiden both deserve that, especially after everything you’ve been through.”

“It means a lot to have your support. I was worried you’d be mad we didn’t have you there.”
