Jade hesitated. Cat hesitated. They knew it was in the script. Sikowitz, with his megaphone (although unnecessary) was coaxing them on. The whole class was watching expectantly, who would make the first move. Who would indeed?
Cat gazed at Jade, fiddling with the end of her dress, suddenly blushing she couldn’t keep eye contact. Her eyes widened when Sikowitz reminded them they were on a timer. Jade moved in and placed her hands on Cat’s shoulders, prompting the small girl to look up at her. Jade, in a burst of courage, dove in for the kiss, almost bumping teeth in Cat’s gasp. The class oohed and applauded.
“End scene!” Sikowitz said and lowered his megaphone to clap and stopped as the two still hadn’t detached from each other. Cat had responded to the kiss rather amorously and the two were engaged in lip lock for a full minute. Sikowitz cleared his voice and it wasn’t until he declared ‘end scene’ three times did the girls part, staring at each other. They smiled and reached for each other’s hands. The world around them had frozen to a stop still and only the two were left in each other’s embrace.
