A funny thing Twitter noticed about the shower scene in the ED

So, we’ve known for a while that the shower scene in the ED was set somewhere in Karatsu, Saga, but I’m not sure if we knew exactly where. Regardless, if you’re curious, it’s on Hamasaki Beach, as seen here on google maps:

You can see the showers on the beach there, and even the low yellow fence that we can also see in the ED shot itself:

Now, this is great and all…but a keen-eyed twitter user noticed something else. If you turn to the left and head…oh, about 100 meters down the road, you come to a building:

It’s a bit hard to make out on this small image, so I’ll clarify that that right there is Hotel Baron.

A LOVE HOTEL.

A love hotel, within spitting distance of those showers where Yuuri and Victor are getting mighty handsy with each other.

I wonder if they allow pets… :P

Yuri!!! on Ice and the Dogs 2

I don’t really know if I can even count this as a second edition to my Yuri!!! on Ice and the Dogs post but here’s what I noticed concerning them in episode 2.

So a lot of people have been happy that Yuuri’s family seems to have taken to Victor incredibly fast, even calling him Vicchan and having 0 issues with him just showing up and saying he’s going to be living there.

But how about we talk about how Victor’s “family” is just as accepting of Yuuri? In episode 1 we see Makkachin (that’s Victor’s dog) jumping on Yuuri and being friendly at first sight. But since then we don’t really see Makkachin separated from Victor, they are attached at the hip. An example being when Victor bikes and has Yuuri run behind him to the rink.

Now obviously this isn’t much of a surprise. The surprise comes later, when Yuuri gets upset/anxious over seeing Victor interact with Yurio and goes off to train. Makkachin, who I believe is being shown to be an extension of Victor himself, follows him.

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE SEE MAKKACHIN SEPARATED FROM VICTOR (minus ep 1 when Victor was in the onsen). And it is during a time when Yuuri is upset and could use some emotional support. To add on to that, Victor shows no worry when Makkachin isn’t around, he only shows worry for Yuuri and the fact that he can’t find him. He ends up meeting up with Makkachin at the rink and going back to the inn together.

But, it gets even better. Not only has Makkachin become more sensitive to Yuuri but he has also really taken to him. So in contrast to the first set of images with Makkachin running beside Victor when he bikes:

Makkachin is now running beside Yuuri. I feel like this goes to show that Yuuri and Victor are truly starting to form an emotional bond outside of the coach/idol thing but more as person to person. And so, Makkachin has also taken Yuuri under their wing as being part of their “family” as well. I’m curious to see what else they will do with the dogs of this series. :)

Chihoko isn't a real person. It's a half fish and half whatever creature. Chihoko sound a bit like the Japanese word for "flexible" or something. viccturi-fic-rec has a great explanation search on her/his blog. Hope it helped!

Victuuri Prompts #1

Imagine that Yuuri keeps trying to land the Quad Axel (like Yuzuru Hanyu) and then he keeps trying and trying to land it. Viktor tells him not to stop even if he really wishes that Yuuri wouldn't try something that hard. So he keeps telling him to have always a person with him when he tries. And one time he doesn't because of whatever reason and he slips and breaks his neck. After Viktor finds out Yuuri is dead he becomes depressed and is in the edge of retiring. And instead of stopping to skate he keeps skating but with different skates. Not the golden ones, because the gold stands for Victory and without Yuuri there is no Victory.
