Now that im entering my thirties this post cracks me up because I was pretty spot on. The only thing I didn’t anticipate was my capacity to heal, to recover from addiction and learn to love myself. Good job teenage me. I stay rooting for you. as an update to any of you who remember this blog from the glory days… I’ve been off opiates for nearly 7 years. I still battle the ED but I win most days. I have been off alcohol for 2 years. I’ve been with my man for four years. Four years!! This morning we talked about our impending engagement- which will NOT be done at Christmas. I am on disability, working on my mental stuff and my art. Which happen to coincide. I have achieved goals I never thought I’d even want to set. I am a talented musician, composer and writer. These are secret gifts I share with those I feel called to. time doesn’t heal wounds, but we can heal them with time.
