they say you have to be brave, take a leap of faith, and put yourself out there... but good gracious it's really hard.

i feel like Filipinos unconsciously live with hero complexes. that's why we take pride in our resilience and the sacrifices we do for our family. better to help than be helped. instead of expecting society, government, other people to help us through, we choose herculean ways to have a better life to a fault. sadly I'm not sure how to reframe that centuries old mindset.

Yes there's always two sides or even several sides to a story. But one thing is inevitable. Someone will get hurt or is already hurting. No amount of words can actually ease the pain. Because the very source of comfort all this time is the one unintentionally hurting you. Yes, unintentional because they're probably hurting too.
