As we on tumblr all know, the lizard was actually venemous, not poisonous.
Hanina ben Dosa's heel, on the other hand...that was poisonous!
Jesus fucking Christ. In the US theyâre separating the MMR vaccine into three different shots?? Let me tell you fucking something: YOU CANNOT GET THESE AS SEPARATE SHOTS IN THE US! It is physically impossible to get these three shots separate.
So I guess kids are just going to get measles, mumps, and rubella now! Even though we have a perfectly good MMR vaccine for all three-in-one! Fuck Trump. Fuck Kennedy. Fuck Bill Cassidy and any of these republican dickheads who aided and abetted this grievous wrong to the future of America & all the children who WILL be affected by this. Goddamn monsters in charge.
wait, are the shots only effective when theyre together? /genuine questions
No, itâs just that the vaccine is only available together because the diseases have been eradicated for so long, we straight up do not make them separate anymore. Which also means that when people do get these diseases itâs gonna be a lot harder to treat and a lot easier to die.
So by my understanding, there isnât actually a law or regulation to force them into 3 separate shots yet. Itâs just Trumpâs âstrong suggestionâ that they need to do that. But thatâs still the first stage to get the ball rolling into making that reality.
I expect everyone in the communicable diseases field will do everything necessary to prevent this from going anywhere, but itâs good to stay alert.
Important context; thank you so so so much
did you guys know that andrew wakefield mbbs (no longer a doctor), creator of the initial and only study "supporting" the idea that the mmr vaccine causes autism, wrote that study because he had a patent for a separate measles vaccine and wanted to make $$$$$? because this is all true.
I keep seeing the following image linked on TikToks about the rights of Afghan women, and how in the past they were allowed to walk freely in skirts and now are unable to even leave their homes. And yes, absolutely, this is something we should be loud in addressing. But itâs also important to not spread disinformation and this image is a clear example. The street signs and taxis are clearly in Hebrew. A quick google search reveals Luntz St is in Jerusalem (maybe this street is a different one, I donât recognize it, but itâs definitely in Israel, right?).
Also, note the mix of Arabic, Hebrew and English on that street sign - you'll not see this anywhere on earth other than in Israel. But Israelis are evil white colonizers, even though they put Arabic on their street signs and can apparently be mistaken for Afghans.
Arabic is a national language of Israel alongside hebrew. So aparthied /j
It's Street luntz in i think tel aviv < edit, it's probably not. There's too many streets with this name in Israel lmao
Thatâs the thing that gets me!! Israel (unidentified) is good, an example of a historical place/time worthy of nostalgia! But once they learn itâs actually Israel theyâd be hard-pressed to find anything positive in the image at all. The âcontextâ (by which I actually mean the interpreterâs pre-existing bias) changes the meaning entirely.
just read a post with â12,500 yearsâ of palestinian history mentioned and boy fucking howdy now theyâre claiming palestinian history goes back before the entire history of civilization, before the entire holocene.
my god, you donât need to lie about palestinian history. palestinians wonât magically lose their right to self determination if their history in the region is only a few hundred years old.
I think some of this is so revealing, really - because it shows how conditional respect for human welfare is for some of these "activists".
All it takes to respect and want the best for Palestinian people, including an end to the violence they're subjected to, and support for their self determination, is a recognition of their humanity and inherent equality, but in the ideological framework of some of these people, being human isn't enough - you must also be pure and free of any kind of possible wrongdoing.
In some people's minds, it's ok to hurt the bad guys, good even. And the thing that makes the bad guys bad can be inherited from ancestry. So they need to prove that the side they support is inherently good, and the side they don't is inherently bad. They need to trace this goodness or badness throughout all of history to demonstrate this.
It's a fundamentally racist way of thinking. It's inherently violent.
It hasn't occurred to some that neither of these groups is inherently bad or good. That neither possess any kind of intrinsic quality of purity or sin. They don't consider that they should be evaluating people's actions as individuals over their membership in either group.
We don't need either group to be free of historical wrongdoing, we just need them to be equal, free, and human, to want to solve the problem.
itâs like weâre watching all the things we said was wrong about western leftist movements rearing their ugly heads all at once
i do have more to say on this if i can get my brain to create more words
weâve been telling leftists for years that theyâve recycled the right wing evangelism and authoritarian politics of their parents into a âleftistâ version that informs on why so many leftists will so easily swallow authoritarian ideas and actions and lies and i for one am getting sick of being gentle with them about this bs
like weâre literally at the point where leftists will swallow ahistorical shit and conspiracy theories with the same ease their parents will swallow bs from fox news or qanon
iâm seeing propaganda and outright lies about jews and palestinians every single day and itâs not trumpers parroting this nonsense but 20-something leftists, and these 20-somethings are using these lies to dehumanize jews and palestinians alike â because why would only being in the region for a few hundred years make it suddenly ok that palestinians are experiencing a humanitarian crisis of horrific proportions, and why would you lie about jewish indigeneity to the land of israel if you werenât convinced that indigenous = good and righteous while not indigenous = bad and evil
and donât even get me started on how this is all coming through the lens of western political theory and western definitions of race/racism
weâve been telling leftists for years that yâall are disturbingly susceptible to propaganda, to authoritarianism, etc, and you people just keep on leaning into it
idk this was a very disjointed addition but basically what iâm saying boils down to this: why canât yâall be normal and just care about this humanitarian crisis without doing everything you can to prove horseshoe theory right
I totally agree with what you're saying here.
I think a bit part of why this is happening is because some of these ideologies are thought of as "cool" and so people jump on board without any understanding of these ideologies or their histories.
To be frank, the amount of genocide denial from leftists I notice, as a Buddhist, is insane. Especially from people citing Noam Chomsky. I'm tired of telling people that the Cambodian genocide happened, for example. But there are even more cases.
What especially bothers me is the accusations towards other ideologies of imperialism because Marxist ideology is notable for its imposition as a Western ideology onto non-Western cultures.
It makes it so clear that many of these people don't have a problem with atrocities, they only do if they disagree with the person committing it. But we can and should disagree with violence and destruction on the grounds that, no matter who the perpetrator is, all people have universal value as people.
Dave Brandt was so much more than a meme. He partnered with universities to experiment with and expand soil conservation and cover crop techniques, worked to educate other farmers through worldwide conventions and direct mentorship, founded the Soil Health Academy, and was called the "Obi-Wan Kenobi of soil health" by the chief of the USDA's conservation department.
There is no healthy planet without healthy ag practices, and this guy was a legend.
The A-horizon on his farm was 4 feet deep
You do not understand
Most modern Ag operations donât even have a proper A-Horizon. Theyâre too busy turning the earth every time they replant. The A-horizon is the Black Gold that makes Soil Soil. Itâs a structurally complex soil horizon that must be built in place by the interactions of Plants and Fungi and Insects. It is The Thing that soaks up rain and holds onto it for plants. The A-Horizon is The Thing that builds up when you let a field sit fallow. The act of tilling creates fecundity by breaking up the A-horizon. On a really good Organic no-till farm you might find an A-horizon between 3-6 inches.
His A-horizon was 4 feet deep. 50 inches.
I-
I have no context. His farm was covered in a living skin thick enough for a child to stand in.
Gives me hope for what we could accomplish if we got our collective heads on straight, you know? Like. This was one guy. A brilliant man, who knew what he was up to, but. The thing about brilliant ideas is they can be shared.
50 inches. The mind reels.
This is so much more impressive than I can understand and comprehend and I would love to know more about A horizon
Do you love the color of the Soil?
Humus, or Humic Compounds, are a cryptic and poorly understood set of organic substances. As the final metabolic result of once-living things being digested first by macroscopic organisms, and then by microorganisms, they resist most forms of analysis, and have cryptic structures. A few that we have managed to isolate and study are the Humic & Fulvic Acids.
Humus has a number of remarkable tendencies. It is capable of retaining water far better than any raw mineral clay; it also retains electrically charged clay granules, which themselves retain mineral ions, all of which is essential to make a soil a high-quality resource for Plants to grow in.
A composter is a box that contains an environment that is conducive to the production of Humus, but the best way to produce it is in-place, by laying layers of organic material down over an unbroken earth and growing things out of that. The interaction of the plants rooting, the fungus weaving itself through everything, the bacteria and archaea metabolizing as they do, and inorganic weathering forces all combine to gradually build up the microscopic equivalent of a complex megastructure capable of retaining far more water, and containing far more nutrients, than any inorganic substrate.
This stuff is black gold. This is the stuff that determines whether or not a plot of land is going to be âproductive.â The knowledge of how to make it, how to care for it, is an essential piece of wisdom that our civilization needs to remember.
Fortunately, folks seem to have the right response:
Farmers are more important to the continuity of civilization than administrators, no matter what the elitists say. This knowledge is important.
Exactly
People are alluding to the idea that I'm secretly an Israeli nationalist because the algorithm on this blog recommends "similar blogs" with Israeli flags and usernames with "Zionist" in them, but that's just because I consistently call out antisemitism and use related tags. The people who most commonly talk about antisemitism are always going to be Jews, and most Jews are Zionists, so the algorithm will always compare anyone who talks a lot about antisemitism to blogs that look like that. You're not seeing behind the curtain to a secret Israeli nationalist side of the blog; youâre seeing what some popular Jewish blogs on Tumblr look like. If that's how you respond every time Tumblr's algorithm thinks the blog youâre reading is Jewish, you're going to be discriminating against Jewish users for fitting the profile of a Jew, and there's a word for that.
itâs never a normal temperature anymore itâs always some fucking bullshit
I need you young people to know it was almost never this hot when I was a child. Millennials and Gen Xers are all nostalgic and excited about summer because it was about ten to twenty degrees cooler to experience it back then!
I cannot express to you how FAST it has gone. I grew up in a world that does not exist now. We're starting on the path to reverse it, globally. You might not know how much solar has EXPLODED in the last decade or two. It's gone from a side thing, a weirdo novelty that was just Not Viable... to whole countries investing in infrastructure. but we have to keep fighting big oil and fascism everywhere we can in order to keep on this road to a new better less scorching burning earth.
But any time you wonder wtf the weather is doing- THIS IS NOT NORMAL, NO. THIS IS NOT WHAT IT WAS EVEN TWENTY YEARS AGO.
history is a circle etc etc
In my humble opinion, the reason why so many people get defensive when you call them out for being antisemitic is because they think that antisemitism is just saying stuff like, "Kill all Jews."
When a lot of the time, it is much more insidious and less outright than that. And that's not to say it is any less wrong or that there are not people out there preaching to kill us.
Anyways, for the rare chance you're not jewish and reading this please listen to jews when we tell you that something is antisemitic. You will be suprised by just how easily its been engrandecer in our culture.
politicaljew:
You are being lied to by a bunch of populists who think you're stupid.
Israel has long been the leading recipient of U.S. foreign aid, including military assistance. That aid has come under heightened scrutiny o
leftists love nothing more than adopting KKK rhetoric. horseshoe continues to be a circle.
adding this:
replace the word âIsraelâ here with âJewsâ and it is precisely how Jew hatred functions, how it has always functioned, and how it has fueled itself for centuries of destruction and death.
blaming everything on Israel is not about âcriticism,â this is classic antisemitism.
unsurprisingly, look whoâs joined in on this:
Not only is all this stuff painfully obvious Judenhass. But, as a Spaniard, it is also deeply frustrating to see what has happened be used as a weapon in this international ordeal. Because it exonerates the ratfuck who sits in the Moroccan throne and his corrupt billionaire prime minister from being the true culprits of what has happened in Ceuta.
Morocco is an antidemocratic regime currently and illegally occupying a chunk of land the size of New fuckin Zealand. And every time they don't get what they want from Spain (anything from who gets to host the next world cup final, to us having commercial deals with Algeria) they orchestra migrant avalanches to destabilize us.
They weaponize the desperation of tens of thousands migrants from all over Africa to hassle my homeland into accepting whatever this week's greedy or invasive plan is. The international community should be talking about Rabat the way they talk about Moscow, but instead all that matters is finding an angle that lets you call Jews slurs.
ÂĄARRIBA ESPAĂA Y SAHARA LIBRE, COJONES!
Left-wing antisemites embracing fucking replacement theory â the most horrifically racist, anti-progressive conspiracy theory out there â in their eagerness to find things to blame the Jews Israel for, is... actually, it is mind-boggling, even for a jaded cynicist.
It's also dishearteningly lazy and ignorant.
Massively simplified, Morocco and Algeria are rivals for control of Western Sahara, which used to be a Spanish colony (look it up).
Also simplified, Morocco has a long habit of using migration as a coercive tactic against Spain, made possible because Spain has enclaves in Northern Africa with land borders to Morocco, Ceuta and Melilla, here's a map:
Map showing the locations of Ceuta and Melilla relative to Morocco and Spain, source: Encyclopedia Britannica
Many analysts believe this weekend's Ceuta crisis was a Moroccan retaliation for the Spanish Prime Minister meeting with Algeria's head of state, which Morocco fears signals a Spanish normalisation of relations with Algeria, something Morocco isn't happy about (for clarity: when I say "Morocco," I mean the authoritarian monarchy ruling Morocco, also something to look up).
Anyway, just as in the 2021 Ceuta crisis (yet another thing you can look up), Morocco has immediately agreed to readmit the migrants who crossed into Ceuta. To anyone familiar with how difficult it normally is for EU countries to repatriate Moroccan citizens, that speaks for itself.
So why, why do you have to reach for the mother of all racist conspiracy theories, when just a little basic awareness of the regional politics gives you so many more plausible explanations?
Is it just because it's also antisemitic?
Working Hypothesis: @jewish-hot-takes exists for non-Jewish cosplayers to launder their most nonsensical, baseless criticisms of #jumblr.
_____
"Jews aren't white" is a claim about whether Jews sit safely inside the white category from the outside.
"There's no racism in Jewish spaces" is a claim about prejudice inside Jewish communities that I've never seen or heard a Jew make.
Those are two different sentences about two different subjects, Anon.
Two things can be true at the same time:
1. Ashkenazim being racialized as white is recent, conditional, and gets revoked the second it's convenient for attacking them.
AND
2. Some Jewish communities and some members of Jewish communities express real colorism, anti-Black racism, or shitty attitudes towards Mizrahim or Ethiopian Jews.
There's no contradiction to expose here except the one Anon invented.
Anon clearly revealed the assumptions about race and Jews needed devise this strawman "contradiction"
The majority of Israel's ~7 million Jews are not Ashkenaz. Anon actually conceded this in their first sentence, saying it's "more complex than just white Jews," and then spent every following sentence using "Jews" to mean "white Western Ashkenazim."
Anon's framing hides erases all the Jews who can't be racialized as "white" (including Mizrahim, Sephardim, Beta Israel Ethiopian Jews, Indian Jews, Chinese Jews, and very olive-colored Ashkenaz like my mother) because the accusation only seems plausible to its intended bigoted audience if Anon quietly deletes them first.
Why does Anon need to delete them first?
Anon thinks white = guilty oppressor and non-white = innocent victim, so "Jews aren't white" sounds to Anon like "Jews are claiming innocence."
(Remarkably, Anon thinks their position opposes racism.)
Antisemitism, meanwhile, adapts. Right wing antisemites can call Jews non-white in contexts where whiteness is good, and antisemites like Anon can call Jews white in contexts where whiteness is bad. Either way, both approaches to Jew hatred almost always insist Jews are all-powerful, alien, supremacists, and secretly in charge.
Jews don't fit the false binary of oppressor vs oppressed, and instead of asking questions about that blatantly absurd false binary, Anon finds it simpler to believe that Jews must be cheating.
Membership in a group identity (whether it not that group is persecuted) never comes with a fucking halo - and it is only the extremist ideologues on either end of the horseshoe who fail to grasp this fundamental truth:
There are bigots in all populations and in all spaces.*
"Jews aren't white" â "no Jew is ever racist"
Any person of any group identity can be racist.
Carpenters, Africans, Hindus, Socialists, and left-handed AuDHD transfemmes - all can be bigots. No group identity is an innoculation against the holding racist ideas. No group identity is a Get Out of Jail Free card excusing the expression of racist ideas.
Only ideological extremists on either end of the horseshoe believe their group association comes with a halo.
Nobody's stated position is "racism doesn't exist in Jewish spaces. " Anon invented that strawman, then performatively slapped it around.
_____
I have listened to Mizrahim, Sephardim, Beta Israel, and Jews of many hues from all over the world who nobody would call "white." I believe them when they talk about incidents of colorism among Ashkenazim, and I'm grateful they point out when they are erased in the assumption that "Jewish" = "Ashkenaz."
That's not what Anon did here.
Anon just sloppily fashioned a strawman from a non-existant contradiction and threw it, without any support, as an accusation against a community of Jews.
To @jewish-hot-takes, who posted this Ask with no comment or pushback:
We're already overwhelmed by enormous amounts of spectacularly stupid antisemitism here. I'd be grateful if you implemented an editorial policy to prevent amplifying and validating even more of it. This isn't "edgy" or "controversial," it's just fucking trash written by a non-Jewish cosplayer - and you post a lot of this sort of trash.
You're not serving the Jewish community, you're hurting it by validating stupid, bigoted remarks about Jews and allowing those who share them to do so anonymously behind the shield of pretending to be Jews.
I implore you to reconsider your choices.
______
* My own hypothesis is that ~30% of every population are irredeemable shitbags.
You need to love Jewish people and make them feel like their presence is wanted and appreciated instead of threatening and uncomfortable. Btw
You need to love Muslims and make them feel like their presence is wanted and appreciated instead of threatening and uncomfortable. Btw
You need to not come onto posts about Jews attempting to make it about muslims. This is a form of the colonialism yall vehemently deny lmao
maybe it was an addition, not an overwriting? Try to give the benefit of the doubt
Someone said this on a different post but it deeply applies.
Goyish complete inability to sot with the fact that jew hate is a concept independent of other bigotry is not helping anyone.
No, we do not need to be making statements about jews and then add in qualifiers about muslims too. no one was fucking talking about you.
itâs a frequent issue Jews face that any attack or act of antisemitism is universalized, treated as a metaphor for bigotry against another group moreso than an actual thing that happened to actual Jews, and can never be denounced on its own; itâs always âantisemitism and Islamophobiaâ âantisemitism and racism/bigotry of any kindâ, even where antisemitism is the only relevant or present bigotry, and itâs very rarely if ever done the other way around (if a Black person or a Muslim is attacked, you wonât hear denouncements of âIslamophobia and antisemitismâ or âAnti-Black racism and antisemitismâ).
forget who said it, but (paraphrasing) âantisemitism is one of the only bigotries where denouncing it always requires a chaperoneâ.
In fact, OPâs post was kind of about this. People love to say they hate Nazis and worry about another Holocaust, and use Holocaust/Nazi comparisons against their political enemies, but then just ignore or treat Jews like shit. This is an issue specific to how people treat Jews, that doesnât really map onto how Islamophobia works.
also that commenterâs most recent post is a reblog of a notoriously antisemitic racefaker who pretends to be Jewish in order to blame Jews for antisemitism and deny antisemitic things are antisemitic, doing exactly that (excusing the use of an antisemitic slur coined by the KKK). so. definitely just being an antisemitic little shit.
Fandom loser is a fandom loser. Every post is about the evils of Da Jooz from the racefaker and weird groypers and then a bunch of pap about the glorious medical advances sure to come under socialism and more unhinged jew hate from losers like them.
"I found a racefaker so I've given myself permission to say slurs and be bigoted and it's ok!" "I've found a replacement for the community I so desperately want and a reason my life didn't work out how I want. I need to go yell at Jews!" It's just all warmed up commie shit being served up with a hint of Groyper. Great example of a loser mentally unhinged enough to go out of their way to bother Jews to... Not save anyone really.

The 2026 Gender Census is now open!
[ survey.gendercensus.com ]
The 13th annual international gender census, collecting information about the language we use to refer to ourselves and each other, is now open until 13th August 2026.
Itâs short and easy, for most participants it takes 5 minutes or less.
After the survey is closed Iâll process the results and publish a spreadsheet of the data and a report summarising the main findings. Then anyone can use them for academic or business purposes, self-advocacy, tracking the popularity of language over time, and just feeling like weâre part of a huge and diverse community.
If you think you might have friends and followers whoâd be interested, please do reblog this blog post, and share the survey URL by email or at AFK social groups or on other social networks. Every share is extremely helpful!
Survey URL: https://survey.gendercensus.com
The survey is open to anyone anywhere who speaks English and feels that the gender binary doesnât fully describe their experience of themselves and their gender(s) or lack thereof.
Thank you so much!

You are telling Israelis, âdismantle your self-determination and your defence in the name of peace and justice.â And Hamas is telling Israelis âI will murder you the second you do that.â And you donât understand, because you donât know Israelisâbecause you refuse to learn Israelis, because youâve been taught that to learn the other side is immoral by bad professors. You donât understand that you and Hamas are having a debate inside the Israeli psyche, and Hamas is winning.
-Haviv Rettig Gur
I have already written about how much I disliked this stunt, how much I object to the use of AI, how isolating the praise for it felt (to the point I experienced what I can only categorize as despair at how alone we are, that anyone was willing to settle for this), and how damaging I believe it ultimately is (no matter how well intended, the impact has been extremely negative). that in mind, Hen makes worthwhile points here. Boy George was not cancelled for criminal behavior, for abuse, for creating âmusicâ with AI, for any other offense. the rage that has led to professional losses is entirely because of the stance he took rejecting antisemitism.
we can hold both truths at once: that this was not good allyship, in fact itâs done harm, and that the backlash he is receiving is not due to his transgressions, but because he rejected the now popular, even socially demanded, blood libel and said, âI stand with the Jews.â
The entertainment industry forgave Boy Georgeâs violent conviction. It could not forgive his song about Jews.
In January 2009, a judge at Snaresbrook Crown Court sentenced George OâDowd to fifteen months in prison. The world knew him as Boy George. A jury had convicted him of falsely imprisoning Audun Carlsen, a Norwegian model he handcuffed to a wall fixture in his London flat. Carlsen told the court he wrenched the fixture loose to get free, then ran into the street in his underwear while the singer swung a metal chain at him. The judge called the act premeditated, callous and humiliating. Carlsen has said he was diagnosed with PTSD and spent a decade in therapy.
George served four months. Then British entertainment welcomed him home. He coached on The Voice UK for the BBC, then The Voice Australia. In 2022 he joined Iâm a Celebrity, and when a few viewers objected, ITV issued a statement about spent convictions and kept filming. In 2024 he starred in Moulin Rouge on Broadway. This summer he was cast as King Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar at the London Palladium, sharing the role with Richard Armitage and Julian Clary. Opening night was set for August 3.
He never made it to the stage.
On July 26, he posted a song called âWe Will Dance Again,â captioned with a single word: Shalom. The title is the phrase survivors of the Nova festival massacre made into a vow. The lyrics reject the word genocide and call the war what he believes it is: a war. They describe what happened to young women at Nova on October 7. They accuse fellow musicians of waving flags and following the herd, and they close with a plain declaration that he stands with the Jews.
The backlash took hours. Within four days, his manager announced he would no longer appear at the Palladium. The statement praised George for standing by his âpersonal convictionsâ and never named them. It did not have to. Everyone reading it knew which convictions were meant, because nothing else about the man had ever cost him a job.
His critics deserve one concession. George makes a poor martyr. His record is real, and his victim is real, and I hold no brief for him. The song itself is an awkward piece of work. He admitted he made it with AI, and joked that he would have struggled to write it with a human. If your complaint is that a pop icon outsourced his conscience to software, that complaint has merit. The sequence tells the truth anyway. Nobody organized to remove him from a stage over synthetic vocals. The campaign began when the words became clear, and the words were about Jews.
Here is what the timeline establishes, and it should unsettle you far more than one aging pop starâs career. A violent conviction was survivable. Pleading guilty to filing a false police report in New York, where officers found cocaine in his apartment, was survivable. Four decades of feuds and provocations were survivable. The industry priced all of it, paid it, and booked him again and again. One song of solidarity with Jews exceeded the budget in four days.
If George were the only data point, you could argue his history finally caught up with him. He is one of two.
In June, Gwyneth Paltrow appeared in a commercial for 51 Park, a luxury residential tower in Herzliya, a coastal city north of Tel Aviv. The ad was filmed in New York, and it contains no politics of any kind. The tower stands on undisputed ground in a wealthy beach town. She wakes up, goes for a run, and tells her driver the building she lives in is in Herzliya. For this, an influencer with 3.4 million followers renamed her âGwynicide Paltrow,â and her Instagram flooded with accusations of complicity in genocide over an ad she never even posted herself. One celebrity asked publicly whether she was a genuinely nasty person or just stupid, and concluded she needed to be cancelled.
Her actual record is worth reviewing. Paltrow spent two decades selling pseudoscience through Goop, including a settlement with California prosecutors over unsupported health claims for jade eggs. She sat through a televised ski-crash trial. She has delivered enough out-of-touch moments to sustain a small meme economy. Through it all, the public response was mockery: parodies and jokes about kale. The first time in her adult life that she faced organized hatred, actual venom, demands for her erasure, was the moment she said the name of an Israeli city out loud.
Two celebrities, opposite profiles. One carries a conviction for chaining a man to a wall. The otherâs worst offense is a rock crystal. One made an explicit political statement. The other made none at all. Both discovered the same tripwire in the same summer, and it had nothing to do with harm or guilt. Proximity to Jews was sufficient.
That is the finding, and it required no leaked memo to uncover. The enforcement mechanism published its own price list in real time. Assault, drugs, deception and quackery all sit in the forgivable column. Standing with Jews, or standing near them, sits alone in the other one.
The same runs in the opposite direction. In June, Prada named the rapper Saint Levant its global ambassador and pushed a campaign video to 33 million followers in which he wore a pendant of the land from the river to the sea with Israel removed from the outline. This is the same performer who stood on a stage in November 2024, days after mobs hunted Israeli soccer fans through the streets of Amsterdam, and thanked the attackers for taking care of business. A luxury house reviewed that record and saw the face of a brand. Then in November, Glamour crowned Ms. Rachel a Woman of the Year for her Gaza advocacy, and the room rose to its feet as she described the war with the exact word Boy George was pushed off a stage for refusing. Weeks earlier she had become a global ambassador for the Palestine Childrenâs Relief Fund. Her care for children in Gaza pushed her to such extreme that she repeats extreme anti-Jewish rhetoric in the name of Christianity. The asymmetry is still the story. One vocabulary earns ovations and ambassadorships. The other vocabulary earns an unlit theater.
I have documented this pattern from other angles, from the DJ hounded out of her own concert in France for being Jewish to the coordinated networks that manufacture outrage on demand. Boy George and Gwyneth Paltrow are useful because they remove every excuse. You cannot claim this is about accountability when the industry forgave the chain and punished the song.
September will bring the dates George was supposed to perform, and other artists will keep making the same calculation he made, weighing solidarity against a career. The evidence of what that costs is public now, and the score is easy to keep: which people face campaigns, and which never do, whatever they have done.
If this reached you, share it with someone who still believes cancellation follows wrongdoing. And if you want this work to continue, subscribe. I intend to keep the record either way.
the signal this sends is clear: standing with Jewish people, or Israel, puts the apparatus of your entire reputation and career at risk. is it any wonder, then, that hardly anyone, especially in the spotlight, will take that on?
âthe industry forgave the chain and punished the song.â
really no words for how infuriated I am about how much worse this has made things, and how weâre being even more vilified and abandoned because of it.
