Odin
Odin
The Drawlloween prompt was “Raven” so I drew Odin, historically associated with the bird, and knower of its secrets. Wikipedia tells me the rune is one historically associated with this old seeker of knowledge.
“The Swarthy One”
The final battle between Surtr (or Surt) and Freyr in Ragnarök. In this scene, the giant Surtr is coming out of his homelands, Múspell, to fight Freyr, norse god of prosperity. This battle will end with the death of Freyr, and Surtr will go on to set the world in flames so that a new fertile world is created from the sea after Ragnarök.

Yggdrasil Day - 22nd April
Yggdrasil is the cosmic World Tree that binds this world to the others, to the world of the gods, the spirits and ancestors. It is the symbol of our union with nature.
On this day you should plant a tree and contemplate the special blessings that nature gives to us, and our place in the natural world.
Ludwig Fahrenkrog: Allvater, 1920
“Each man must at one time die. No one may escape dying that once, and it is my counsel that we not flee, but for our own part act the bravest.”
