a year ago now i made a post (here) about being mindful with halloween witches and antisemitic stereotypes, but since then i have learned more about tropes that made me uneasy but had no concrete answer about.

so here’s the yearly reminder that witches (x) (and similarly-styled greedy ogre-type monsters) with giant hooked noses (x), big curly hair (x), have green skin (x), and big pointy hats (x), are rooted in hundreds of years of dangerous anti-jew propaganda within folklore (x, x) and European politics (x). (i myself would say green skin and hats are not indicative on their own, but are when paired with stereotyped ashkenazi jewish features). 

please be very mindful with your folklore-based halloween monsters. i heavily encourage you to browse the linked sources for elaboration, especially the green skin thread as it puts good perspective into all of these tropes. also if you’re upset that i’m “ruining halloween” keep it to yourself lol.

Made after Onibus Coffee in Tokyo but when I was building it, I had a problem with coffee station so that one more coffeeshop became a diner. Not that I was worried about it too much, haha.

Hi! I know I’m not really part of the Sims community on Tumblr anymore. but I needed to share this. I have also translated the Korean comments because I felt the Google Translated versions didn’t do them justice. Please note that I have changed some phrasing and wording to make it flow better in English.
