NEW RELEASE: “Bones All Around” Remix by Six Umbrellas

In keeping with tradition, following the release of my latest album "The Place Called Home", my friend Thomas Bartz of Six Umbrellas has created a remix of one track, beefing the sound up with beats, synthesizers, and re-arranging the song in a clever way.

This time around, he chose the song "Bones All Around", which struck a chord for its historical background. It's a story about buying and listening to contraband vinyl records during the time when the Soviet Union occupied many nations in Europe, including Estonia, where my paternal family is from.

I never had to experience losing my freedom, losing my home and livelihood,​ or​ losing members of my family. But over the years, I've heard stories from my family about their experiences of losing all of these things during and after the Second World War, when they fled Estonia as refugees.

With this remix appearing at a time when the people of Ukraine are having their lives destroyed because of Russia's invasion, because of greed and total disregard for people's lives, I have decided to donate all of the remix sale proceeds (you can buy it on Bandcamp, link in bio) to the International Rescue Committee. The money raised will provide humanitarian aid to those affected by the war​. Y​ou can visit their website to see the work they do.​

Usually, Bandcamp takes a cut of each song sale (along with PayPal), but if you buy the remix today (Bandcamp Friday), a larger portion of the money will be available for donation.

May the song instill listeners with a sense of hope and resilience, and as the chorus rises in Thomas' remix, let it remind us​ of freedom.
