Laughter echoed down the west hall, throaty yet joyous. A low mumble followed the tail end – deeper, more serious than the former, before both voices stop all at once around the corner.

“Hey, you’re the new guy, right?” A woman asked brazenly, all confidence and smiles. 

“Judith, he didn’t board with us at the star– oof.” Words cut short by a not-so-subtle elbow to the ribs, the sullen man winced from the force. 

“Play ISpy later, ranger. Technically new or not, we’re all stuck in this tin can together – so where’s your manners, Theo? Can’t even spare a hi?”

Not wanting to argue back ( never with Judith ), Theodore cast his gaze downwards instead of looking the stranger in the eye. “Hello.”

it’s taking him slightly more than he would have expected to get adjusted to the new surroundings, so as per expected, he’s giving rounds through the ship trying to learn every inch of it. unexpectedly, he finds himself walking towards the sound of voices, it’s ironical that he gets startled when he gets adressed by them.

“ uh--- sorry to interupt, i’m just taking a quick walk around. ” a soft smile spreads through his lips as he looks over at both of them. “ we didn’t had a proper introduction when i boarded. sorry about that, i’m Sam. ” he gives a light nod of the head “ and i promise i won’t interfere with your work. ”

my mood’s been a lil off so i’m going to take a couple days off to let it pass. BUT, if anyone wants to chat/plot/do some lil writing on discord let me know! i would love that, and i might pop by the multi, if anyone’s interested.

THE BLUE BOX

wherever he goes, the box is right there with him. he keeps it hidden, makes sure absolutely nothing happens to it, and that no one can see it or lay their hands on it. the box is filled with some of the original paper cranes made by tomy, some of his firsts poems, but the most important bit inside of it are the post cards.

on every place he visits he buys a post card, he sits on the hood of his car and writes to tomy on the back of it. he tells him about his favorite things from that place, the things he knows his brother would have liked, some funny story about someone he met there. and they are always signed the same way “ MAYBE NEXT TIME YOU CAN COME WITH ME, I KNOW YOU’LL LOVE IT. ”

the first time he wrote one it felt like he was doing something wrong, like it simply added up to his unability to let go of tomy’s memory. but the more he wrote, the more it felt like a catharsis, it’s a way to keep him close, he might not be there physically but it doesn’t mean he isn’t there in spirit. he likes to remember him the way he was, filled with joy and life, when they spent hours planning this trips.

a smile begins to spread through his features as he looked at moa, there was simply something completely endearing. this little conspiracy of sorts, to plan out the perfect day for freddie. he’s lost on his train of thought, and it takes him a few seconds to snap out of it, eyes widening as he chuckles as a reply. “ well--- i think it’s not really about the music being happy, but the MESSAGE, and the meaning the song can carry. ”  a shrug, and he looks at her in seek of validation. “ then again---- do we want OTHER people to enjoy it, or just her? ”

he’s taken by surprise, his eyes opening wide as he looks directly at her. it’s taking him a minute to understand WHERE it was coming from, trying to figure out if there was something he’d done, or said. his head tilts slightly to the side, lips parting but words can’t find their way out, he simply keeps on staring.

“ fred--- ” a pause, eyes blinking before he leans slightly closer to her. a frown slowly starting to appear on his features. “ if ANYONE is ever ashamed of you, they clearly don’t know what they have in front of them. ”
