@violet-trash
just a heads up, if i ever weird you out on any level, too friendly, too flirty, anything at all, i encourage you to be very vocal towards me about it to make sure i dont continue to make you uncomfortable. i dont want anyone feeling like im not someone they can trust and be comfortable around.
Normalize vocalizing discomfort.
Last weekend, a guy that at that point Iâd known for about 24 hours called me âdarlingâ. I could tell he didnât mean anything by it, but I (politely) asked that he not do that because I donât like it. He looked surprised and got a little defensive - âoh, I call all my friends that!â âOkay, well Iâd still rather you didnâtâ âoh well harumph harumph sorryâ
whereas the exchange should have gone
âblah blah blah, darlingâ
âoh please donât call me that, I donât care for thatâ
âoh Iâm sorry, I wonât do thatâ CONTINUE CONVERSATION
Normalize vocalizing discomfort.
Yep yep yep. Iâve literally had people give me weird looks because I correct them when they try to shorten my name. My own family members donât call me by any nickname.
I use pet names constantly. If you donât like it, Please Please tell me!
Please! Iâm a friendly person and use lovely, poppet, darling, etc frequently and I never want to make people uncomfortable!
if i make you uncomfortable, for peteâs sake tell me!!
so many of my followers are minors, and i use pet names such as âkiddo, sweetheart, sweet pea, darling, honey, etcâ all the time

I donât know what youâre claiming or manifesting this spring but hereâs a sage dance for your worries. â¨â¨â¨â¨â¨â¨â¨â¨
I donât understand people like her.
Like why???? Do you even understand what sage is used for??? Itâs definitely not a solution to your âworriesâ
So fucking offensive. Bunch of ignrorants that reblog this talking about how fine she is, that has nothing to do with sage.
I wonder how many cultures actually uses sage and understood what itâs for??? Otherwise that shit donât belong to you.
Smh
Nah ah be quiet. Sage has been used by black slaves and their descendants since they came over to America. Slaves used herbs, roots, sticks, stones, bones, etc., in their practices and those practices exists within the African diaspora today. This girl is more than likely, a black spiritualist or a practitioners of hoodoo, palo santo, Santeria, voodoo, etc.
Like, this girl isnât smudging, she is cleansing. Cleansing with sage with the use of music is important in a lot of African diasporic religions and practices. But you donât know anything about that because society has quite literally damned black practices to the point that yâall only think shit like voodoo dolls exist.
Black practitioners of diaposirc religions use and cultivate white sage because when they were stolen from their homes and taken to America, sage is some of the only stuff they had. So before you go assuming that sheâs offensive and letting your antiblackness show by calling us ignorants,  learn to educate yourself on African practices. Iâm so tired of black women  being called racist, and being attacked by non-black people for using practices that our important to us. She may not understand sage the way you do, but why should she?? Sheâs not native American. Sheâs black and is using it as black people do.

Oh god, imagine being the person who created that page.
She promised an ex who had belittled her dreams that one day he wouldnât be able to order a coffee with out hearing one of her songs. She deserves all the good sheâs worked for.
