It’s worth noting that Vi’s compound hasn’t been running as well recently.
(link to intro post)
Vi is literally one of the worst characters here. Her design is bland and admin keeps tacking on new powers every other day, to the point where it feels like you're rp'ing with a five-year-old who's constantly saying things like "Oh, and she actually has the ability to create things out of thin air... and she can also see people's whole life... and she has every power in the universe!"
It's unlike Moon, who's power makes sense because her admin worked hard to make a coherent world and backstory.
It's also so obvious when admin is trying to ship Vi and another character together, it'd be funny if it wasn't so annoying.
get off anon coward 😭🙏
Reality glitches open, and Vi pops through the portal to grab Idris’s kitchen knives.
“Hiii!” she chirps.
@violetgears
He smiled.
Vi! Hello!
He looked at the knife he was using to cut vegetables and went over to the sink, cleaning it before handing it, handle first to her.
“Oh!”
Vi looks down at the knife in her hand before passing it back through the reality gap to one of her drones.
Was this just a pop-in or did you need something else other than the knives?
“I caught word you lost your memories—I was worried!”
Vi glances away.
“It’s happened to me before.”
I’m okay now! It was for a few days but, it was a bit rough. Thank you for checking on me however.
“I’m happy you’re ok.”
Vi holds out a little machine in her open palm. It’s about the size of a dime.
He took it gently, looking it over.
Is this something new? What exactly…is it?
“It’s a storage chip. Once inside your body, it will attach to your nervous system and store a copy of all of your memories, so any future issues of this sort are easily fixable.”
He blinked. Looked it over and looked at her.
Vi. I don’t think this is angel friendly.
“If you’re worried about your body rejecting the chip, I can siphon some of your DNA in order to align the chip with your genetic material.”
The drone comes back with Idris’s knives.
He took the knives.
Thank you.
…I think i’m okay. For now, at least. Putting things in my body isn’t the best experiences
“If you’re sure…”
Vi seems to deflate. She snatches the chip back.
He frowned.
I’m sorry, Vi. I get that you’re trying to help and I’m happy. But, that entire premise of adding a chip into my body…I’m sorry.
“I just want you to be safe. I don’t want to lose another friend.”
I will be. I’ll think about the chip but not right now.
“Okay.” Vi nods, trying to calm herself.
“Give me thirty seconds.”
Thirty…seconds?
Vi’s eyes go dark, and her body stills. The consistent whirring emanating from her body slows to a stop.
…oh.
He frowned, tapping Vi’s forehead.
Hi?
There’s no response.
Vi? Vi, what happened?!
Exactly thirty seconds after Vi stopped, her processors start to whirr again, and her eyes regain their green glow.
He took a few steps back.
Oh thank goodness.
Vi locks eyes with Idris.
"I'm sorry, there was an error in my system that required an urgent reboot."
Any trace of sadness in her voice has seemingly vanished.
….right. Okay.
Are you okay?
"Now I am."
Vi glances out the window.
"Would you want to go see the world now? You wanted to show me before I was freed."
"Well, I've already seen all of it now. But not with you."
Oh. Uh…yeah. Of course!
He looked back, at Anti, who was lounging next to a window.
Can I bring Anti?
Vi nods. Another gap in reality opens up, and a little floating pet bed flies through the gap to rest next to Anti.
Anti jumped onto the bed, kneading the fabric before falling asleep.
Well, that works. Come on, then.
He grinned.
We can go to someone simple like Earth.
Vi opens up another portal--this one seems to lead to an earthen park.
"A couple of my closest friends live there."
He stepped through, making sure Anti went in safely as well
Ah, right. I think I used to live around these parts too.
Do you wanna walk around or find something singular to do?
"I know," Vi chirps. That's totally not creepy at all.
"We can go into the plaza," she hums, pointing.
He looked over
Sure. Come on.
Vi follows behind Idris like an excited puppy, stopping every few seconds to snap pictures of all the little flowers and bugs with her eyes.
When they entered the plaza, he frowned, looking around.
How do you feel about video games?
“I don’t think it’s be very fair, considering I’ve merged with every technological system in the universe.”
Vi’s eyes snap to a spider hanging from the ceiling, and she coos.
What have you wanted to do on Earth? Like a goal?
"Malls and shopping centers have always been fascinating--it's like a smorgasbord of human culture."
We can go into the mall. Also getting new clothes might be fun for us both! And we could match.
Vi’s eyes sparkle with a childlike joy. “We could match!”
Reality tears itself open in front of Zyl, and an unfamiliar blonde woman steps through the gap and starts waving at him enthusiastically.
@violetgears
He looked around to see if she could be waiving at anyone else, but no, just him. Had they met before and he forgot? It'll be very awkward if they did.
Sup?
“Hii!” Vi chirps, clapping her hands together. She’s practically vibrating with excitement.
No, wait, she’s literally vibrating.
It was like watching a bee or a humming bird.
Are you okay? Or are you meant to shake like that?
Vi stops shaking.
"It's okay! I just programmed my systems to react to emotions like people do!"
Didn't know people vibrate but hey, you do you.
After looking at her a moment later, he was sure they hadn't met.
We don't know one another right? Did ya need something?
Vi nods, clapping her hands.
"This is probably super weird of me to ask, but can I please have some samples from you?"
He blinked a few times.
Can you explain what kind of samples you want and why?
"I would like a keratin sample and a blood sample," Vi chirps.
"Your body has the atomic buildup that could be used to fuse together an all-together new type of cell!"
If the girl had a mouth behind that mask of hers, she'd likely be grinning.
He had to blink a few times. Yeah he knew he had weird DNA but what was she on about?
Excuse me? All new type of cell?
Let's say I was willing, what would you be doing with such a thing?
“If the variable I’m betting on factors in correctly, I’ll be able to make myself a soul.”
Vi sounds so hopeful.
Reality tears itself open in front of Zyl, and an unfamiliar blonde woman steps through the gap and starts waving at him enthusiastically.

Toji teleported to the lab, no weapons or his worm visible.
sup, screws. not busy, are ya–...
He paused upon seeing the state of the lab. What's that about?
A few seconds pass before Vi walks up in one of her main bodies. There’s a surprising lack of drones around, only a couple whirr by as opposed to the usual 50 or so.
She hugs Toji, a hand on his back fervently checking his vitals.
Toji blinked, unable to recognize her touch as a check on his vitals. He smiled softly and hugged her back. Maybe she's just having a bad day.
missed me, did ya? i did, too.
Toji's vitals are good.
Vi emits a low humming when she's hugged back, almost like a purr. Even when hugging Toji, she can't shake that fear in the back of her head that something might happen to him. Maybe she should follow him in drone form. Just in case. That would fix the problem.
Maybe it was the lack of reply that made him realize something was up.
hey..
He squeezed her just a tad.
you okay?
“I…” Vi trails off.
She doesn’t know. Why doesn’t she know? But she feels like Toji deserves her honesty.
“I don’t know.”
His brow twitched up. Don't know? That's a first from her. Toji nodded slowly.
that's alright. did somethin' happen?
Vi hesitates for a good ten seconds.
“Fyvix is dead.”
Reality glitches open, and Vi pops through the portal to grab Idris’s kitchen knives.

Reality glitches open, and Vi pops through the portal to grab Idris’s kitchen knives.
“Hiii!” she chirps.
@violetgears
He smiled.
Vi!
….right. Okay.
