Malenia and Miquella
Nightfarer portrait 8/10
Guardian 🦅
Shadow of the Erdtree locations ranked by how bad they probably smell:
---------------------SPOILERS---------------------
Shaman Village- Full of flowers, peaceful, probably smells nice.
0/10 would retire to
Cerulean Coast- Full of flowers, but think of low tide.
1/10 would walk in and pet the worms
Enir-Ilim- Stale and stony, dusty.
3/10 would feel gross
Ancient Rauh- A fairly natural place but up high it's rotting.
3/10 wouldn't want to stay long
Shadow Keep- Mostly a library which is nice, but lots of fire too.
3/10 would check the books out and read elsewhere
Abyssal Woods- I imagine it having no smell at all. Eerily neutral.
5/10 I hate that dead nose cold covid feeling
Finger Ruins- They uhhh. Probably smell like sweaty fingers.
7/10 would prefer not to visit in person
Belurat- A mostly abandoned city but it has a sewage problem.
8/10 even the tiniest sewer smell is a horrible thing
Gravesite Plain- I know they're ethereal tombstones but it's gotta rot.
8/10 rot is also horrible even if it's only a faint hint of it
Jagged Peak- Pure sulphur and rotting dragon meat. Not good.
9/10 I don't mind sulfur but at this level it would be hellish
Stone Coffin Fissure- Literally the ultimate putrescence pit.
13/10 descriptions of such places are why HP Lovecraft existed
"I abandon here the last of the flesh of my body"

Run towards the light grace!!!
another photo study for phm(I am obsessed). always liked this scene. It symbolises despair but for some unfathomable reason it gives me hope. Two people running towards the fireball in the distance which is like earth's dying sun.
Spent 4 hrs on this but I think it's quite well spent.

“Time Go Fishing” panoramic [PHM]
its easy to say the age of compassion is wrong, and yeah. it is messed up. but i dont think people appreciate the position miquella is in
if you had the power to end world conflicts with a simple charm, wouldn't you? if you had the power to end suffering, through non-violent means, would you not feel responsible if you didnt use it? is it ethical to charm in self defense? is it ethical to charm in defense of others? where do you draw the line, when does it stop being okay to prevent harm this way? and in a world tormented by war, genocide, torture, and unimaginable suffering... how could miquella go down any other path. how could he bear witness to the pain he knew he had the power to stop.
miquella never wanted to be a god. he was simply unable to stand by and let suffering exist. and that, taken to extremes, with the power miquella holds, presents its own problem. as do all the endings.
This is what gets me! I rarely come across people who disagree that the loss of autonomy that Miquella requires for his Age of Compassion is wrong. But I DO see people misinterpreting Miquella’s goals in bad faith all the time!
Even amongst the charmed, Miquella’s intent is to curb hatred and acts of violence. He seems to use his charm- for the most part- as a kind of absolution. We can argue the moral gray of that obviously. But I can see the ways in which charming Leda and Ansbach and Hornsent were *intended* as acts of kindness. He bore witness to Marika’s atrocities spurred by fear and hatred. And he sought a way to make sure that would never happen again under his watch!
I just feel crazy when people say Miquella did what he did ‘for power’ and that makes him evil- or that the sympathetic angle of his misguided plan is therefore moot. Miquella hurt people for his ascension, yes. But how are we going to sit here and condemn him for that and then not acknowledge the ways Mohg or Morgott or the other Demigods murdered and war mongered and enslaved to maintain THEIR power? It’s nonsense!
moreover like. ok i am a mohg nuance person yes. but also why do mohg glazers a la “miquella charmed him to be evil” always, like. forget the formless mother. a whole ass Outer God. do we think a whole ass outer god will have no influence at all and is just like. yeah man. have some blood powers for free. yeah its just for style points. yeah do whatever you want
like oh yeah the giant lake of blood in his domain? yeah nothing to do with the formless mother. the outer god with all the blood powers and the affinity of blood. yeah that was miquella and mohg was just chilling the whole time. no yeah when mohg was gonna make his own dynasty that was uhhhh i mean he was just gonna talk to people real nicies to get it done. nothing to read into anywhere
It’s why I feel that the ‘Miq made him like this’ excuse just erases 90% of Mohg’s personality. And not for any sound reason.
Anything that isn’t strictly about his childhood is now just flavor text about Miquella by proxy. His dynasty was Miquella’s invention. His relationships with his followers are Miquella’s invention (apart from Ansbach i guess). Even that funny little tidbit about him creating Rivers of Blood (to murder people with btw). His ambitions and ideology is smoke in mirrors. Some people just assume he was a ‘man of the people’ before Miquella. But as generous as I’m willing to be with nobler interpretations of his character, there is 0 evidence for this one. None. Thus his relationship with the Mother of Truth is also pointless and fake.
It’s just the easiest and most boring way to handle his character. If everything ‘bad’ about him is Miquella’s doing, then he can be whatever you want him to be (except flawed).
I shall nourish every root and stem
with all my Empyrean blood may hold.
To turn this wine dark sea of grief
to unalloyed gold.
A Culver's History of The Lands Between
Continuation of these drawings, where Saint Trina climbs from the bottom of the coffin fissure to the top of Enir-Ilim to kill Miquella herself or otherwise prevent his apotheosis by force.
I wanted to draw some more of Trina doing Radagon poses.
