"Hmp! Me! As in me! I want to see if the new gym leader for this gym even deserves the mantle."
"Y' really sure y' wanna battle me? D'ya even have any other badges from the Kanto league?"
ღ "Alright." Instead of just parting ways there, Red took Green to her house, since she wanted her to be there when they both entered her home to see the awaiting mother. To be honest, Red was kind of scared to go home alone. She needed Green if she was going to do this.
Once they two reach the house, Red waited in the living room for the other to get what she needed. And when that was done, the two began heading toward the house just across the way. The moment was coming, and the ravenette still wasn’t sure if she was ready.
"Green… do you think she’ll be upset I was gone for so long? Though I said things will be fine, I’m still a little scared of facing my own mom after being gone like this…" A sigh was let out after that. Why did she had to start worrying now of all times? "At least you’re with me… I probably wouldn’t be able to go home so easily on my own."
Green had gathered just a few items that she would need. Her pajamas, toothbrush, hairbrush... Her Pokenav too, just incase someone needed to get a hold of her for whatever reason.
As the two neared Red's house, she could tell the other was getting more and more nervous. She couldn't exactly relate to that feeling in her sense, but she had been nervous when her grandfather showed up at the league right after she was defeated.
"T' tell y' the truth, I think she'll probably be a little upset at first." Green gave the other a reassuring smile. "But I'm sure she'll be glad that you're home safe and sound." She took Red's hand in her own. "Everything'll be fine."
redheadedtsun mentioned you in a post:"Depends on who’s askin’." viridianspride "That...
"Depends on who’s askin’." viridianspride “That would be me.
"'Me' can be a lotta people."
ღ "Yeah… when we were younger, we didn’t really get along much. But I knew that was just how you were. I still saw you as a friend and a rival all at once." It wasn’t the easiest thing to tell at first. Green was good at being pretty convincing that she hated Red’s guts. But, as they traveled, she soon realized that it just wasn’t true. She didn’t act like someone who truly hated her.
As they entered Pallet Town, Red took Green towards her own home first. "You probably want to go to your place first, right? Or did you want to just go straight to mine?"
"At least things have changed a little bit now. I don't know how I was able to act like that to anyone." She laughed a bit. "I'm surprised anyone could tolerate me." That was definitely why she got scolded by Oak so much. Green never really meant too much harm by it. Like Red had said, it was just the way she was.
"Ah, yeah. I need t' get some stuff real quick. Just some pajamas and whatever else. Should only take me a few minutes, though."
"Hmp. So you are the new leader...."
"Yeah, that’d be me."
"Not that I care or anything but are you at least strong?"
"Depends on who's askin'."
ღ Feeling the hand squeeze her own brought a smile to the woman’s face. She could actually feel the touch more than before, which wasn’t as much different as before when they touched hands but now it only made her heart skip a beat.
“Yeah, I know. I bet she’ll be really happy to know about us.” Leaning down, she gave the brunette’s nose a light peck as they walked home. “Who knows. She might have always thought we would be together, knowing her…”
Green could only smile a bit at Red's action. It was still hard for her to believe that this was really a reality. If anyone would have brought up the prospect of her and Red dating a few years ago, she would never have bought it. The feeling of her hand in her own and the warmth it gave off was convincing enough that this was all real.
"Good, that makes me feel a bit better." She said with a slight laugh. "I'm sure Daisy thought the same thing too, even though she thought I hated you for the longest time when we were younger."
"Hmp. So you are the new leader...."
"Yeah, that'd be me."
ღ "I’m sure she won’t mind… just we will have to deal with her freaking out that I’m back, probably a huge dinner to celebrate, and me trying to hide my hands from her…" Red’s eyes lowered as she looked them over. The bandages would either need to be removed or just moved more under her glove. The last thing she needed was to have her mother be worried. It would just ruin the night if she did that to her. Maybe another night she would bring it up…
Said hands soon had moved to take one of Green’s, beginning to lead her back toward the direction of home. "We should actually do that now before it’s too late."
"That's fine. I can handle all of that." Green looked down at Red's hands. "I could always hold 'em to cover it up." She laughed a bit. Just as long as nothing looked suspicious, her mother probably wouldn't notice anything... Hopefully. If she did, Green could probably just come up with something. She was pretty good at coming up with stories.
"I'm kinda excited and a little nervous, honestly..." Her grip on Red's hand tightened slightly. "I mean, she already knows me and all but this whole thing is different, y'know?"
ღ The ravenette could only give her new love a hug in return, holding her as tight as she could without hurting her at all. A gently nuzzle could be felt against the other as they stayed like that for about a minute or so.
"I know this is gonna sound odd but… Do you want to come to my place tonight? Or can I stay at yours again? I’m not trying to do anything weird but… I don’t think I’m gonna be able to sleep tonight unless I have you in my arms." This was both because of her new cuddle factor and that she really wanted to just hold Green right now.
Green found herself calming down a bit now. Her cheeks weren't as warm as before, and her skin returned to it's normal color opposed to bright pink. All of this was something she would have to get used to, but it was the same with Red.
"Sure, I can stay with you if that's what y' want." Green would have to stop by her house first and get a few things. Even if she already had her bag, there were some items she didn't constantly carry with her. "Y' sure your mom is gonna be okay with it?" That, and she didn't think Red had been back home since she returned from Mt. Silver. That would be interesting.

//gonna lay down and play earthbound and then sleep probably :') today was amazing hh--
ღ Red hoped that her own mother would approve of this. Though, she knew that she would be; if it made her daughter happy then why should there be a problem? Plus she had known Green for years so it was with someone she could definitely trust.
"It is nice… I’m glad I took the chance. I don’t think I could have kept these feelings hidden away any longer." She leaned down to give her girlfriend another soft kiss, smiling as it parted. "Good… I love you, Green."
The fact that Red accepted and loved her even after all the things Green did in the past blew her away. She treated the other like garbage on more than one occasion. She would put her down and hold herself up above her. The sting of tears behind her eyes was unstoppable as Red said those words.
"Y-Yeah, me too." She could definitely get used to the kisses. Green sniffled and wiped her eyes with the back of her hand. "I love y' too." She stood up now, hugging the other and resting her head on her shoulder.
//probably gonna take a break and play some games with friends for a bit! longer threads tend to drain me faster :')
ღ Hearing Green say that made Red extremely happy. She also felt rather relieved, having now been hugging her rather tightly when she said that she felt the same way because of it. Of course, the question was what that would mean for them now. The ravenette just calmly kept hugging her and giving her cheek a light grazing with her lips.
"I’m really happy to hear that… I was a little worried you might not feel the same." More like very worried, but who was paying attention to that? "So… does this mean we’re girlfriends now..?" she quietly asked, closing her eyes. "I’ve, uh… never been in this kind of relationship before so I don’t know what I should be doing…"
Green hugged the other back now, grinning like an idiot. She couldn't help it. Everything felt like it was falling into place now. She just wondered how everyone else would take it. She hoped her family would be supportive of it. Green knew for a fact Daisy would be, but her grandfather was a bit of a different story. They'd always had a somewhat rocky relationship.
"I... I guess so." She laughed a little. "I never thought about any of this, really... It's kinda... Nice, y'know?" She was glad she got to experience all this with Red of all people. Their relationship was pretty unstable at some parts of their lives, but everything was all perfect now. "That's fine, I don't really know what I'm doing either. It's somethin' we can learn together."
rockets to the moon
He was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Almost literally. He could flee back into the tunnel further, but who’s to say there won’t be a dead end and she won’t be able to find him and corner him? What could he even say to her? He hadn’t even given her or Red any contact period. Not that he’d have been able to do so without being caught. His hand went to his belt, hovering over Golbat’s Pokeball, before it dropped to his side like a useless limp damn noodle. He stood no chance if he fought anyways.
"Of all the people…” His voice worked, though it sounded a bit hoarse. There was a stinging at his eyes, one that he ignored. He didn’t want to cry. That wasn’t how Team Rocket was. He’d be penalized if it was figured out. Not that he’d not be penalized if he lost to her here and now. He put a hand up to rub his temples. This wasn’t good. He hadn’t really given Red or Green many second thoughts after five years had passed with Team Rocket. He’d just become one of them, and in a really unhealthy way they became his family.
"Didn’t expect to run into you. Ever.” His tone sounded bitter. He was bitter. Bitter that Red and Green had never came back for him. Weeks had passed. But no head or tail from either. They had went on without him. Without him. He should have never let them go ahead. His hands formed into fists and blue eyes clouded over. “So you finally decided to come back around now, did you?” The tone was accusing, blue eyes flashing with anger, bitterness. “Nine years pass and now here you are. I waited. For weeks I waited. And yet I got forgotten about.”
Leaf scoffs, looking away from her face. He can’t stand to look at her right then. “How about you turn around and forget I was ever here. Seems about all you’re good for when it comes down to me these days.” Bitter. That’s all his tone was. He was bitter. Angry. He’d been held back and disallowed to go with his friends when he turned ten and they didn’t even question where he was for five weeks. Weeks. The only salvation he got was Team Rocket. And he had taken it with no hesitation.
Green didn't like this. She didn't like any of this. Brown eyes sparked with rage as she held onto the pokeball tighter once more. She wished things hadn't turned out this way. She was still waiting to wake up, confirming that it was all some sick and twisted dream... But it wasn't. This was the truth, and no matter how terrible it was, she had to accept it.
"We went on ahead just like you told us." She snapped back. Green tossed the pokeball to her other hand, not wanting to break it. "I didn't know you'd stoop so low and join them." Her tone was equally as biting and acidic. She hated feeling like she was being talked down to. Right now, she wasn't even sure if she could consider him a friend. She wanted to be harsh like she was all those years ago, but something was trying to hold her back.
"So just because y' thought you were 'forgotten about', you decided to join a criminal organization?" Green had wanted to go back for Leaf, but she had such a rivalry with Red back then that it would have set her back. She let that stop her. Her arrogance. "Makes sense that you're the youngest out of us." She didn't want to do this. She wanted to just leave and go back to her gym, or fly around the region on her Pidgeot, but she couldn't. She couldn't let any of this slide.
"I'm not going anywhere," she replied, "I'm going to take you and every other Rocket in here out. I'll be the one to wipe out this shitty team this time." Cutting ties and trying to supress the memories of long ago was the most difficult thing she had ever imagined. She couldn't let the past hold her back, though.
ღ Some would probably feel like they made a mistake and be quick to turn away, misunderstanding the whole situation. Red however wasn’t like that. As they said before, they could read each other to near perfection when given the chance, and she could tell Green was flustered and just unable to respond. It was actually a really cute sight to behold. She ever got to see her like this enough.
A hand lightly went to run through her locks while smiling. She could wait for as long as she needed to hear her reply. And yet, her lips were placed on her temple this time to give it a gentle peck.
"Green… I can’t hide how I feel anymore. I care deeply about you and realize what I have been feeling for you after so long." A hand had moved over to one of the brunette’s that was gripping the swing, giving it a light squeeze. Her own cheeks had been flushed at this point; admitting your feelings to your close friend would do that to you, of course.
Green breathed in deeply, trying to calm herself down enough to where she could actually speak somewhat decently. That was pretty hard for her, however, considering what just happened. She had never had anyone display that kind of affection to her. She always pushed that kind of thing away, especially when she was younger.
That's why she tried to push away the quiet feeling she got whenever she was near Red. She didn't like to feel flustered or embarrassed, and really not back then. Her streak of arrogance had been really terrible.
"I-I..." Brown hues lowered to her lap now, unable to meet Red's eyes without feeling her heart race. "L-Listen, I... I feel the same..." She wasn't going to lie to herself. Not this time. In the past, definitely, but this was the present.
