Soooo… does this mean you’ll do more?? Cause I’d be down for more.

You know, that actually would have been really interesting if Negs actually liked his Gos and they’d done something with that in the show. Since Negaduck technically IS Darkwing just from another universe this could have been the one thing they had in common. Could have led to an episode where they had to team up to rescue their respective daughters from something.

Just think, a whole episode of them sniping at each other but having to work together, it would have been hilarious!

Oh my god i just had the schmaltziest idea ever.

Just picture: Darkwing catches Negaduck in the act of raiding a toystore, he confronts him, all “how dare you take toys from children that’s the lowest of low” and Negs plays it off like ‘hey, it’s evil, kinda what i do’, they fight, Negs gets away with all his loot and Darkwings not having that so he follows him all the way back to the Negaverse where he ends up catching Negs in the act of giving all these stolen toys to NegaGos because she wanted pretty things and nothing like that can be found in the trashed out negaverse. And then Darkwings just kinda like “Well….shit. Kinda don’t want to bust him for this now…” Ends up leaving without Negs ever knowing he was there.

Darkwing and Negs fighting one another but stopping when it reaches a certain hour because, you know, dinner and bedtime take priority. “Want to pick this up tomorrow?” ‘Can’t, got a school thing. Next week?’ “No good, the rug rat wants to go to the park and I already rescheduled that twice.” ‘Well, see ya when I see ya.’

Okay so obviously the Gos’s have the same birthday, and Gos decides she wants to meet her counterpart because …who wouldn’t? So she decides she wants to have a joint birthday party with NegaGos. And Drake’s just like “Jesus Christ WHY?!” So then he has to go to the Negaverse, actually knock on their front door and invite them and Negaduck is also like “Jesus Christ WHY?!” But it was Gos’s idea and NegaGos wants to see the Prime universe and there may or may not be a petting zoo with ponies involved and once NegaGos heard the word ‘pony’ she was going to go if she had to hitchhike her way there herself so Negaduck has to say yes, which means civilian clothes and no (obvious) weapons and making nice with the Muddlefoots and not killing anyone.

So then they’re at the party and the kids are off doing their thing and the adults are off to the side conversing amongst themselves and finally Drake can’t help himself and he turns to Negs and asks “So uh, does your Gos ever (insert weird personality quirk here)?” and Negs is like “Huh. …yeah. Does yours ever (insert another weird personality quirk)?” and it turns into a weird parenting conversation that neither of them is fully comfortable with.

I am loving everything

So the party ends and both dads are hoping the Gos’s won’t like each other that much since they’re so different, and other than the novelty of meeting their double won’t have any interest in seeing each other again, but nope, besties. And that’s going to mean playdates and Drake and Negs just kind of look at each other like “Well Fuck, we didn’t sign on for this”

OOPS MY HAND SLIPPED

The more i think about it, the more i think my favorite part about this whole concept is just the confusion Drake would go through. Of course he would assume she was a hostage in need of rescue. So he ‘saves’ her. Then she doesn’t react the way he’s expecting and Negs doesn’t react the way he’s expecting and then Darkwing’s just standing there wondering how he lost total control of this situation.

Watching Animaniacs again and it just hit me how bad this reboot is gonna be. You need the professionals who started it all to make this masterpiece again, not a bunch writers and directors who were merely fans of the original show. This show requires extremely good story telling skills and will very easily be ruined in the wrong hands

What really sucks is that i’ve already lived through this. I’ve been a massive Lilo and Stitch fan since it first came out in 2002 and i’ve had to live through not one, but two horrible anime reboots. I already know what it feels like to watch characters i love be bastardized and caricatured to the point of unrecognizability.

Knowing it’s happening to the Warners too just makes me tired.

‘Geronimo’ by RebellingStagnation

So like 5 weeks ago i went into the DarkwingDuck section at AO3 and found this awesome fic series by RebellingStagnation. Pulled an all-dayer and all-nighter to read the whole series and promptly left a review promising fanart. Well it took me a month, but it’s finally done. I’m both a perfectionist and a procrastinator which basically means that i art at the speed of glacier. Also I’m a digital artist trying to learn colored pencil so there were a lot of tests and blending experiments.

But here it is! From the beginning of chapter three of ‘I Bet My Life’

An adult Gosalyn sorta-partnering with Negaduck to run the Negaverse. Happily getting on his nerves but he low-key loves it, because surrogate daughter.

Took a few artistic liberties with her costume, mostly because of the medium i was doing this with. Her ‘Q’ emblem should technically be gold but it wouldn’t really show up. Her tunic should have a bit more yellow. The multi colored arrows let her know which type of arrow she’s pulling (fire arrows, gas arrows, explosive arrows, etc)

Someone is using MY ART as THEIR Icon on at least one social media platform. How is this a world i am living in right now? I didn’t start drawing until i was in my twenties. I am completely untrained. Not even any highschool art classes because i thought art was a talent you either had or didn’t, and i didn’t and if i took art i’d fail and bring down my GPA and not go to college so i’d better pick a safer elective instead. I don’t practise as much as a real artist does. I’d rate myself as, like, intermediate-beginner, at best. How did i make a thing that another person, a stranger no less, likes enough to use?

@viridianrebooted you have SO MUCH TALENT. I have looked through your DeviantArt page and you have an amazing eye for color, always have perfect proportions regardless of character (which is hard to do) and fantastic composition. You definitely have the art gift, my friend, and it’s my absolute honor to be able to use your art as my avatar.

I can’t believe I have art made after my stories. It’s weird to think someone liked my work so much they wanted to make something of their own. I’m blown away that you chose me to make art for, and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about this amazing piece.
