We are gathered here together to support our favorite non-canon ship on the wonderful Bound SMP, Virwood (aka Virgil & Elwood).
I will be doing my best to reblog everything I find that is Virwood related, as well as posting various evidences I find as support for why they would make a good ship. I may throw out a silly poll here or there from time to time, but this will mostly serve as a one-stop-shop for all your Virwood needs.
Please feel free to send ideas why you think Virwood is a good ship in my ask box, and I will do my best to respond. Remember, only together can we make this ship float.

im gonna be honest this one is a bit more of me projecting onto/working through my own thoughts via the characters than the stuff i usually write but i did my best to keep it as true to the character as i could!
elwood and virgil are both very important characters to me and it was really nice to be able to explore what is typically a very allonormative relationship structure (like marriage) through the lens of two characters who are on the aro and ace spectrums and will likely view those structures differently if they're interested in them at all!!
because of that this fic might be a bit more out of character than my other works typically are but that's okay with me honestly
what is something elwood does that is attractive/hot to virgil ?
Honestly taken me a while to come up with something, I’ve been cooking lol-
Honestly I think it’s probably a lot of small things. The specific way he stretches out his hand after writing for a long time, a specific way he adjusts or ties back his hair. Other than that I feel like it’s silly little things like,,, Virgil coming downstairs to find Elwood is reorganising their spice racks, or doing inventory on something really benign like cleaning supplies. Just seeing Elwood get so absorbed into the minutiae of organisation, and the pride the starling takes in tasks like that. The determination and focus in his brow for something which should be so non-essential. I think it’s something Virgil finds incredibly endearing/attractive.
I don’t know, it took me a while cause I feel like when you’re in love with someone there’s probably a million little things they do that are all attractive in their own way, so it’s hard to like,,, focus in on something specific to describe as an answer.
But also like, y’all are fully allowed to come up with headcanons of things like this. I don’t always have answers but I adore seeing people come up with answers of their own! Feel free to assign traits to Virgil and what things you think he’d be attracted to that Elwood does, headcanons exist for a reason, have fun with it :D
i feel like the youth should be reminded that the point of shipping is not for a ship to become canon. the point of shipping is to collect all the canon crumbs like starved mice, run away cackling and make some fun little scenarios with them just for the hell of it.

But - but - this gives me a reason to finally roll out some Elwood Art I've been holding onto, and to go into their family in ways I couldn't in lore because, well - Elwood obviously does not remember.

FIRST THINGS FIRST - BABY ELWOOD!!!
Elwood was born to a family of avians, most of them starlings, though not all of them the same kind of starling as Elwood. At least one of El's parents was also a Common Eurasian Starling, and there probably also were some Common Grackles and Boat-Tailed Grackles in the Kirchhof family. His grandfather specifically, who died a few weeks before Elwood's family fell to the void, leaving Elwood orphaned and ending up in the orphanage island, was a Eurasian Green Woodpecker. Elwood doesn't technically remember the funeral, but they do vaguely remember the headstone - this is why he knew what words to write on Mirasol's headstone. Elwood did not have any siblings, but there were probably some cousins.

This is Elwood at around ten or so, around the time they figured out that he was trans. This is the little guy that went and changed his name in the house mother's register and was heartbroken when he realized nobody cared, and yes, it hurts me so deeply.

Both of these pieces were originally drawn for the epilogue - before I decided to make it completely new and different. I still do really love these drawings though, plus, the wings took for-fjucking-ever.

It matters so much to me that Elwood got his happy ending - with his family, somewhere new, where there are new stories to explore and gather. He gets to be an uncle, he gets to be happy, he gets to have all the people he cares for around them.
I care so so much.

Thank you to everybody who followed Elwood's story and showed love to this little starling guy. I hold all your posts and theories and gentle comments in my hands and so close to my heart.

The fact Elwood literally turns around while Virgil is changing and the awkward moment of turning back around when he’s done (they’re so ace and also moderately socially awkward and I love them)
Also, I love Elwood, but that osha violating staircase was a curse bro (not design wise, the design was cool, but walking it made me motion sick lol). Don’t mourn it, rejoice that it’s gone /silly
