Bhutan is a largely Buddhist country. However, many Bhutanese people exchange "Merry Christmas" messages on facebook and other sns. Some families even decorate a Christmas tree even though they are Buddhist. I find Bhutanese people open to many ideas. During the holidays and weekends, many people visit temples. These are called "mani khorlo" in Dzongkha which literally means "prayer wheels". Mani Khorlo can be seen almost everywhere in the country. Most temples are surrounded by a hundred and eight mani khorlos. On the outside, the mantra "om mani padme hung" is written in Sanskrit. On the highway between Paro international airport and Thimphu (capital city of Bhutan), there is a popular iron chain bridge. In Bhutan, iron bridge is called "cha zam". It is an iron bridge built in 15th century by a Tibetan iron-bridge-builder Thangthong Gyalpo. The bridge moves as we cross it giving the people a fun experience.
