OM MANI PADME HUNG The Great Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara (Sanskrit) took a vow to be of ceaseless service to all beings without exception, until all were free of suffering, and fully awakened. One day he sat meditating, by a small pond of water, emanating infinite waves of great compassion, his mind resting in the great expanse of its own pure awakened nature. As he gazed into the water he saw that within just this one small pool were innumerable sentient beings, and in this moment he realized the enormity of the vow he had taken. He fell in despair, one tear falling from each eye, becoming the emanations of White and Green Tara to help him. His body cracked open, his arms began multiplying until he had 1,000 each in the gesture of supreme generosity, an all seeing eye of compassion in each palm. His head to burst open, and 11 heads sprang forth, at the very top the Red Buddha Amitaba from which Chenrezig (Tibetan) has originally emanated from his heart. Just below the next head, a Black Wrathful face to tame the beings most difficult to tame, ones so deeply lost in states of delusion, greed, anger and jealously. These are times of extreme suffering and confusion. Be strong warriors of compassion. Now is not the time for the weak or light hearted. Remain firm in your resolve. Do not let your compassion waiver. This mantra of Chenrezig invokes the aspect of our own mind that is inseparable with pure selfless compassion. There is no better Dharma than the six-syllable mantra. ~ Patrul Rinpoche #ommanipadmehung #ommanipadmehum #buddhistmantra #chenrezig #avaloketishvara #padmapani #mantra #mantras #meditation #powerofmind #powerofmindfulness https://www.instagram.com/p/BsqpkTyHeiw/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1hboxb35spwkf
Slowly they are eating these goats and sheep. 4 were killed by a mountain lion on my friends farm New Year’s Eve. Praying for these beings everyday OM MANI PADME HUNG In the Tibetan Buddhist way this mantra invokes the aspect of our mind that manifests as our fully awakened pure compassion. When recited, especially over beings who have died, (or all the time) it has the effect that it brings conciousness (back) to its own essence nature as love, that love has always been and will always be, the expression of our true nature in union with our inherent enlightened mind. It is a very powerful mantra, the most common in Tibetan Buddhism because it is the best, and the simplest one. Manta are awakened mind manifesting as sound. The “seed syllables” are the essence of what we are calling forth. When we recite or hear the mantra, it resonates with that essence within us, all beings, and directly through sound, beyond words and concepts, resonates with that aspect in all. It is said that this mantra is the best to recite for the dead, and even over bones. Even if we are vegan (which is so excellent) beings died for our food. We recite mantra ALL the time. This mantra is recorded on the first two albums, and the second album TRANSITION is a whole ceremony for the dead and dying. #ommanipadmehung #ommanipadmehum #mantra #pray #prayforall all the time. #thankyou https://www.instagram.com/p/BsbVvm9HSMo/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=526gpxk0q3jn

These are called "mani khorlo" in Dzongkha which literally means "prayer wheels". Mani Khorlo can be seen almost everywhere in the country. Most temples are surrounded by a hundred and eight mani khorlos. On the outside, the mantra "om mani padme hung" is written in Sanskrit. On the inside, there are thousands of mantras written in Dzongkha. In Bhutan, you will see many elderly people praying around the temples. Make sure to spin these prayer wheels when you visit Bhutan.
