SKIN – I
SKIN
Skin is a series of portraits that I have started working on. When i started taking pictures for this project, i just took a subject and started shooting. Nothing in my mind, no concept, no ideas, no stories, Nothing. The pictures came out good but not satisfying.
I knew I wanted to take portraits and I knew i wanted the content to be minimal. That is how I came up with the idea of not showing…

These are pictures of my friend Neha from 8th of June 2016. I tried to come up with beautiful words to go along with the pictures but I couldn’t. I even asked Neha herself to write something. She did. But still I felt it was not justifying. The images had so much more to say. Her expressions and the lighting creates such an immense mood that just makes me keep staring at them. Sometimes words and meanings are not necessary I guess. I’m just happy to stare at them without any thoughts or meanings.

VIRUPAKSHA (KALI)
Virupakshawas the chief of the Nagas, one of the different tribes from the primitive age in Nepal. They were of a matriarchal society, so the women folks had more sway in comparison to the men folks. GAJA LAKSHMI
Gajalakshmi, that is Lakshmi with elephants, is one of the most significant Ashtalakshmi aspects of the Hindu goddess Lakshmi. The elephants flanking her are shown as pouring water from their trunk over the goddess. This aspect like most other aspects of Lakshmi is representative of prosperity, good luck, and abundance; and the Gajalakshmi motifs are very common in Hindu and Buddhist iconography.

I found these characters at my college premises few months back. I’m not sure if many notice it but they are beautiful. I love these shapes. Its so unclear, disproportionate, uneven, unsure yet so beautiful, and so much in coordination. I feel happy and balanced when i see them.

EARLY SETTLEMENT IN PATAN
EARLY SETTLEMENT IN PATAN
Patan (Sanskrit: पाटन Pātan, Newar: यल Yala) is the third largest city of Nepal after Kathmandu and Pokhara and it is located in the south-central part of Kathmandu Valley. Patan is also known as Manigal. Patan, Yala and Lalitpur are more common and equally used. Patan represents a simplification of Lalitpattana, and since the 17th century has been used mainly by outsiders and even the Newari…
