Crafting! Love these baby lights! These are so cute and pretty! I love them. These are very petite. The lights aren't big like Christmas lights. The "string" is wire and is very flexible, but also really holds the shape you give it. There are two different strands, about 8ft long each. I have used these to decorate outside with my umbrella this summer, as well as to just turn on and put in my living space to make things seem festive! I am considering using these in my classroom as well to bring some light-heartedness and magic to my middle school students. I think these would be AWESOME at a wedding as a centerpiece. You could buy several sets and light up a walkway as well. I like them a lot, they are super fun. I received this product for free or at a reduced price in exchange for my honest review. #oakleaf

These shears are pretty nice. After watching a video on how to dismantle them and lubricate the moving parts I think they will be great. They came to me pretty stiff, so they didn't completely wow me; that being said, I have never seen shears that come apart so easily or can be cleaned and oiled this way. I do not have lubricating goo on hand to lubricate these with, but will pick some up and try again. I am sure that will resolve the stiffness issue. Thus far I have been able to cut small green stems easily. I was hoping to have something that would eat through large (3/4") dead wood on a bush I have (see photos). These weren't the key, but neither was my electric hacksaw, so I guess the bush wins round 3. Overall I would recommend, but be prepared to oil them when they arrive. The customer support I received was awesome, so in that respect I am very impressed. Quick feedback with the problem I reported and a great video to help me get the most out of my shears.

Happy Sleeping

I recently received 100% organic bamboo sheets from Cariloha. They are so soft! I have been sleeping with a flat sheet since I got these sheets -- not normally something I enjoy. I always used to get tangled up in the flat sheet. These are so soft, I don't notice that. They also sleep cooler than many sheets, including my 100% cotton sheets. My son also has a set and is noticing a significant decrease in allergy symptoms. I guess some people had some shrinking with their sheets, but I can't figure out why. I washed mine in cold and dried on low heat, as instructed. They fit both beds quite well, and both mattresses require deep pockets. The flat sheet is very long and wide. Almost too long, for my liking. Easy fix, I just tuck it under the end of the mattress. Overall these sheets are like sleeping on a cloud. I am ejoying them! The Sweet Life

Well, here we are, another summer. Ahhh. Life is so sweet and simple and sloooooow. No yelling at my kid to get dressed and find his shoes. No alarm clock. Just playing and having fun. This morning I wrote about all the things I am grateful for. Well, 20 of them. With a few addendums.I am using a new book, called  Creative Meditation and Manifestation: Using Your 21 Innate Powers to Create Your Life, by Amara Honeck. I have thus far written 2 intentions. My tangible intention is to be financially stable such that short man and I can be comfortable and have fun. I’d like to retire someday (tomorrow?) and I would like to have a college fund for short man (”what do you mean you don’t have a college fund for me? How am I supposed to go to college???” Sorry, kiddo. I was focusing on the food and clothing funds first. I’ll get right on that…). My second intention, intangible, is to be more patient and kind with myself, short man, and others. I will be working with these intentions over the next 3 weeks. Hopefully by the time school starts again the patterns the book suggests: decreasing negative thoughts, working toward creating positive things in your life, will help us transition back to the other 9 months of our lives. But for right now…I might take a nap.
