🥰PERSONAL NIGHT CITY HEAD CANONS🥰
According to MissArdenScotia --
Hi all! This post will just be my personal head canons for V, River, and Johnny after the completion of the game (because even though I haven't actually finished Phantom Liberty, I've spoiled the endings for myself, so it's fine).
*Please note: the opinions and backstories used in this blog have been heavily inspired by the world and story of Cyberpunk 2077, but have nothing to do with CDPR or their employees.*
This post will possibly be updated as I continue posting pictures and making up scenarios. If you notice any inconsistencies, please don't be afraid to message me and let me know! This is something I'm doing just for fun, but that doesn't mean I don't want it to make sense! 🥰
👑Venus De Valentino👑
PAST
V grew up on the streets of Heywood with her twin brother Vincent (Vince, V), loosing her parents to a gang shootout; just a normal Thursday.
Before she was old enough to actually work in the doll houses, she sat with the girls while they fixed their makeup and in between clients, reading fashion magazines and old scream sheets, whatever she could get her hands on. They listened to all kinds of different music in the dressing room, from pop to rock to oldies, Samurai a favorite of many of the dolls.
As she got older, she started taking her own clients, with Jackie as her bodyguard and 'pimp', for lack of a better word. He taught her some self defense, and then when he was almost too late, he taught her how to shoot, and then vouched for her when she asked Padre to start giving her merc work.
After she lost Vince in a street fight gone wrong, she set off for Atlanta, figuring nothing was left for her in Night City; where she spent a couple years trying to make it on her own, before eventually deciding to come home where her family had been waiting, welcoming her back with open arms.
She worked merc jobs during the day and worked as a waitress for Mama Welles at night, helping the newly hired security keep the supreme gonks at bay.

🎸Johnny Silverhand🎸
After some serious searching with all the new resources at her disposal, V finds some small leads towards Johnny's actual resting place, which is a super secret Arasaka cryogenic facility, that has a second copy of a Johnny Silverhand engram, downloaded seconds before Mikoshi went offline.
V and some friends raid the facility, save Johnny, and insert him into his own body, silver arm and all. He spends about a month in recovery, staying with V in her Megabuilding apartment, giving Vik easier access for house calls when they're needed.
Johnny gets back to writing songs almost instantly, spending all sorts of time with Kerry in his home studio, bouncing ideas off each other as they each work on their new solo albums, taking lots of breaks to reminisce about the old days.
He won't say it (sober), but he's really glad to be back. Especially when he and Kerry get going, talking about all the things they're going to protest about now that he's back, over the bowl packed to the brim with the preemest synth-weed money can buy.
Falling in love with Alt had been hard; they were so similar, it was a wonder the sex was even as good as it was. But falling in love with V, well, that was easy. After having spent so much time in her head, he found that the commitment he feared with Alt had been nothing compared to the ease he felt when he thought about it with V.
He mostly stays in the penthouse apartment when he's not at Kerry's; preferring the solitude it offers, finding it hard to relate to other people again. V doesn't mind, she knows he finds the luxury comforting after living in her mind for so long.
He's constantly texting V when they're not together, hating the fact that they can't converse like they used too. He never asks for it, but she calls through out the day, just to check in on him or make him laugh with a story about some gonk on the street.
He doesn't hate River, but he's got a problem with his previous employer. They meet for lunch once a week, mostly for V's sake, but after a while, they realize they actually like each other and can be friends.
❤️🔥River Ward❤️🔥
After an 'anonymous benefactor' (De Valentino, LLC) donated an undisclosed amount of money, River was able to set up his private investigator career! He's got a nice office in the Glen and some fantastic local contacts in Heywood that can help him get some feet on the ground in the other parts of the city.
Joss understood when he told her he was moving out, citing the fact that now that he knew they were all safe, he could start living his life for himself.
He moves into V's Glen apartment, to be closer to the office where he spends most of his nights, anyway. Sure, the small cot in the corner isn't the most comfortable, but when V swings by with takeout for dinner and love making, Riv finds that the office isn't so bad.
When he and V aren't spending the day in bed, he takes the kids out for ice cream or to the new VR video game arcade in Japantown, meeting Aunt V for dinner (her treat, she insists) before he has a sleepover with them back at Joss'.
He wasn't sure about Johnny at first, having been told about him long before the Second Incident. He kind of thought that with Johnny gone, V would be able to move on and live a happy life. Now that he's actually spent some time with him, he can see why V fell in love with him. He's charming, in the most frustrating way.
He wasn't mad when V and Johnny got married, he was just upset that Johnny asked her first. He'd been planning to ask, but was having trouble deciding on a ring.
