so my head is too confused over here. there’s too much i wanna do here and it overwhelms me and makes me feel like shit... so i’m disappearing from this blog again. i will only be back here for very specific things (aka persephone & angel most likely). sorry someday i’ll try to get this blog done...

Ava once again awoke with the blood of a stranger staining her small lips. The smell and taste was disgustingly familiar to her. She sat up, partially slumped against the wall as she began to hyperventilate, looking down at her shaking blood stained fingers as she began to sob. Only this time, something was different. Izzy was fighting to take over her body again. Ava’s second personality was quite stronger than her and even as Ava tried hard to keep her away, she found it difficult and she grunted in pain. Yes. It took a lot out of her just trying to contain Izzy. Ava suddenly noticed movement and glanced up, seeing someone familiar before grunting in between her words. 

“I- swear it wa– wasn’t me. It’s Izzy.. P…please get out of here.. sh- ah! She’s too strong to keep in..”

The Fate hadn’t even suspected to find the young woman on the floor of his apartment, especially not covered in blood. Then again why would he have been expecting it, he had only just returned to the residence he kept on the surface, granting himself a break from the underworld. Atropos closed the door behind him, brow still furrowed as he looked closer at the bloodstained woman, finally realizing who she was. “Ava?” he called out gently, starting to bend his tall frame down as he got closer to her. He knew the young fox, met her several times before today, and had somehow found a small soft spot for the quiet girl, maybe even an attraction to her. And technically he knew the woman she spoke of as well. He’d heard bits and pieces of the story from Ava and there was one time he was sure he had talked to her alter, if only for a brief second. 

“Shh, Ava” his gentle tone rang out, the large man now knelt beside her, arms already reaching out to hold her firmly. “Ava, it’s alright I’m here~” he reassured her, and no matter what happened or which one of them he found himself with, he was sticking to his word.

I pay too much attention to your pretty face to be seeing things.” The warlock chuckles some, shoulders raising in a bit of a shrug before he’s stretching out his legs and exhales a little sigh. The approaching exit makes him wrinkle his nose – normally the exit meant he was to go home, and that he’d have to say goodbye the ferryman. Humming a little bit, he stands again, adjusting himself and his cloak before looking up to Charon when he agrees to the idea. Eyes widen a little, and a smile slowly stretches over his lips. “Really really? Ahhh, come on! It’s sleepover time.”

“Pretty face?” he repeated, not used to the compliment. He’d been called attractive by newcomers but by the end of the boat ride most people were already annoyed by his face. But not Ephram. The ferryman’s eyes darted from the warlock to the dock, getting ready to dock them, until he heard the excitement in the other’s voice. “Really really” he assured him, an almost chuckle hidden in his tone, happy to see the smaller excited about the idea. “Now stop shaking the boat” he huffed a bit, straightening up as he moved to glide into place beside the dock. Without words he was handing the large oar to a few workers as they held the skiff steady, the large man moving out of the boat and turning around to help the warlock.

“Well, it seems I’ve been at least a little bit successful.” He hums, stepping a little closer to the other, a little smile curved over his lips as he reaches his hands up to cup the other’s cheeks, before giving them a playful little squish. Chuckling to himself, he then drops his hands to his sides again, before moving to sit himself down on the little bench-like plank. “Mmn, really?” He lights up a little at that, always pleased to know when he made people happy, regardless whether it was outwardly shown or not. “Hey… you know… if you aren’t on duty tonight, you should spend the night with me. We can order pizza and hang out a little maybe?”

“Are you sure you weren’t just seeing things?” he teased the other, glancing over and giving the warlock a little look in an attempt at covey the joke better. He himself wasn’t even sure how even try to show expression or remember how it felt to smile, so he wondered if he’d even be able to tell. All he did know is that it made him happy when Ephram beamed up at him from the seat after his confession. They were nearing the larger dock near the main entrance, each push of the long oar sending them closer. “Pizza?” he asked, looking over at the smaller with the same old face, but internally panicking a bit. “I can technically make my own hours.. If I needed to be away I have a crew to replace me for a time..” he nodded, swallowing a little. “I’d like to go.”

“Mmn, probably. I’d assume that’s probably part of it, at least.” He shrugs a little, before exhaling a little laugh as he reaches a hand up to brush back some of his hair. “I know. I’m trying, I promise. Soon, hopefully, you won’t need to worry about having to pick me up at all. I’ll be able to pop in and bother you and leave all of my own will.” He nods gently, before grinning bright, a little bubbly burst of laughter leaving his lips. “Lighten up, buttercup, I’m only joking. I’m always curious what’ll get a rise out of you.”

His eyes still watched Ephram closely as he laughed, a strong yet gentle sound, gaze softening a little. “You’re not the first to play this game with me. Many new arrivals try to get a reaction from me” he said in a dry tone. It was true, a lot tried but got nothing from the ferryman. Maybe when the underworld began did he react, had any sort of normal emotion, but now that he’d been doing this and had seen it all countless times over it just didn’t work anymore. “But... you’re the first to get as close as you do” he said with a tone of amusement. Charon waited another moment to speak, focusing on the dark waters. “I like taking you home.. And it may not physically happen, but you make me smile quite a bit..”

Ephram hums a little, bright eyes taking in the sight around them for a brief moment before he’s exhaling a little bit of a chuckle, looking back to the ferryman and giving a little nod. “I look forward to the day when I don’t get myself stuck down here, really. The warding on the underworld is so powerful though that it’s extremely difficult to bypass…” He sighs a little, before giving his head a shake, returning his gaze to Charon in time to catch what looked to be amusement. Grinning some, his eyes light up, and he coos a little. “Oh my, you know– if I’m not mistaken, I think you like me, Charon~ You even smiled a little for me!”

“Warding? Is that what hinders you from landing in the same place every time?” he continued to joke, comfortable that the warlock knew by now when he was and wasn’t playing around. “I don’t know much of magic.. but it would be nice if I only had to go to one place to pick you up” he hummed, pushing them further and further along. He was truly teasing the other, not really minding how far along the rivers he had to travel to get to the small warlock. Charon’s eyes widened a bit at the sudden outburst, his mouth dropping back to normal as he looked over at the other. “I smiled?” he asked, unaware of what he’d done, and also avoiding the question again.
