Calling Wooyoung “Young-ah.” I’ve never heard Wooyoung being called that on reality shows, it’s always Wooyoungie.

Any of the 99zers calling each other “hyung” casually. They’re same-age friends. Yeosang would only call Yunho “hyung” if he was feeling very respectful. Ditto San for YS and YH, ditto Mingi for SN, YS, YH, ditto Wooyoung for all of them.

so i’ve had a bit of time to process the show as a whole now that it’s over and let me just say this: i don’t think i’ve ever, ever watched a show quite so indulgently fun as kinnporsche.

this show doesn’t take itself too seriously. the creators have made a huge effort to balance the humor, angst, and sentimentality to create the perfect cocktail for every single episode. it’s tropey in the best way. sure, there are some plot holes, but usually only in the name of doing something cool or funny or emotionally satisfying. it’s here, it’s queer, and it’s doing its best to show you one hell of a good time.

watching it made me feel almost… taken care of, if that makes sense? like the creators are truly trying to make something that the audience will adore just as much as they do. they’re not trying to make themselves look clever. they’re not setting anything up without intending to deliver. they’re not playing with your emotions unnecessarily — they are guiding you gently towards moments of catharsis and joy, like good media creators should. every silly, sweet, insane, horny, devastating moment of this crazy little show was created to excite and delight you, the audience member. i have never felt quite so understood as a viewer as when i was watching kinnporsche. i miss it already.
