If you want to just cry, expirence first love, heartbreak, annoyance, acceptance, forgiveness and overall cry fest this 15 episode drama will give you that. Kim Go-Eun proves to me yet again she's that b*cth. I have love her acting since Coin Locker Girl.

Park Ji-hyun is such a great actress as well their chemistry together was perfect. The drama for me wasn't slow and everything that happened didn't drag for so many episodes. I was happy the love triangle wasn't the main focus of the story. There friendship was definitely one of a kind. The only thing I wish they showed was seeing Ryu Eun Jung make the movie she was writing and see huge success from it like the work Park Ji-Hyun stole from her.

This was a really beautiful story. I will miss this drama binge.

Sang-Yeon’s inability to open up and express herself is exactly what makes her insecure around Eun-Jung who prefers to be direct and honest about her feelings.

Eun-Jung’s ability to still believe there’s a light at the end of the tunnel is exactly why Sang-Yeon is jealous of her because her own life is clouded with such grief and darkness, the problems are seemingly unending.

Both women are going through their own struggles and it’s no one’s fault that their lives are designed that way but I truly don’t see how we are to reason with both sides.

Eun-Jung is actually the better person thus far. For context: I’m on episode 8.

The fact that they did a time jump juuuust to draaaaag on this fuckass love triangle again as employed adults just to feed into Sang-Yeon's inferiority complex and self-hate irritated the hell out of me BECAUSE THE STORY HAD SHOWN AND ESTABLISHED THAT ALREADY. Just drop the male character for one minute and build another fucking angle. My GOD.

PSA: You and Everything Else is a phenomenal drama. I have rarely seen such astute writing on complicated friendship between women, and the performances and all around production are incredible. One of my absolute favorites of the year and going on my all timers list.

thoughts on you and everything else:

friendship break up is rarely used as a theme and the way you and everything else portayed the breakup was so good because how else is the friendship based on admiration and envy going to end except in a messy way?

also, in my opinion, at the centre of it all, sangyeon did all that because of her unresolved grief. the way she handled her grief? of course, she was going to be destructive, she didn't get to properly grieve. grief reshapes a person. of course, she was going to latched on to kim hangsak, he has the same name as her dead sibling, he was the person who knew parts of her brother she didn't know. i can't fault sangyeon for falling in love with kim sanghak because he was there at her lowest. it may be misguided love but that's what sang yeon kept going.

as for eunjung, she just wants to be there and suppprt sangyeon but she won't let her. she became the collateral for sangyeon's grief and hangsak's kindness. her grief may not be as "big" as sangyeon but it was there.

(also, eunjung was waaay nicer of a person than me lmao i'd be a petty bitch and call the police for trespassing if i was her lol)

the way the show portayed grief was so good. one got destructive and one held it in. also, the way the show used perspective to show eunjung and sangyeon's inner thoughts on each other was refreshing because I can't fault them for admiring and resenting each other because both were blinded by their insecurities.

you and everything else reminded me of Salma Deera's poem: "I have loved you. I have had to deal with that."
