i just want to apologize for my hella lack of activity and disappearance from the dash as of recent. i have been struggling on all of my blogs in terms of activity for awhile and it seems jess was hit by this as well. i am happy to share my contact info with people if they’d like to stay in touch even while i drown in trying to get my muses back.

her feet shuffled awkwardly against pavement, shoulders tensing as her lips pursed together. it didn’t take a rocket scientist to know how awkward & nervous she was. certainly, ashley considered the prospect of a relationship: it seemed … almost nice. but her doubts often engulfed her before she could move forward at all. it was suffocating not telling him - but also relieving that it never moved into the potential-awkwardness stage of one-sided crushes.
❛ it’s really awkward to bring up. i mean, what if he just sees me as a friend? or thinks i’m being desperate or clingy or pathetic or —— ❜ she forced herself to stop there, biting her lower lip to settle herself. the situation would only become piteous if ashley begun to rant about all of her fears or self-esteem issues; jess definitely didn’t deserve to deal with that. hands appeared in front of her to intertwine her fingers, pressing nervously against herself. her voice came quicker, almost meek, as her tone went higher as it often did when she rambled. ❛ … what if he says no? i don’t want to break our friendship over this. it’ll be like, really weird. ❜
❛ pft, he would never say no --- he’s just as into you if not more-so, ash, ❜ she snorted again ; this time half amused and half exasperated by her companion’s doubt.
jessica riley was popular, she wanted to be, she liked it --- but she didn’t and woudn’t let such a status dictate her friend group. people could think whatever they would about her based on who she was friendly with, she knew she’d still make homecoming queen. and so, a swift movement had her slinging an arm about the redhead’s shoulders and tugging her close with a deliberate soft squeeze. the previous spark still present in the blonde’s features as her gaze fell minutely to peek at her phone --- she was waiting for a text from mike, he was taking so long to get back to her... a small huff was expelled more at one mister munroe’s slow reply, as she brought her eyes back to ashley.
her grin now full blown, ❛ --- trust me, ash, he’ll totally say yes! or i’ll be forced to chuck his ass in a well or worse! ❜
& PERMANENT INTERACTION CALL; this is mostly a way for me to sort out which of my MUTUAL FOLLOWERS are interested in long-term interaction be it pre-plotted or not — no matter the type of verse. so, if you LIKE THIS POST? … then you’re telling me you’d like to simply start interaction at one point or another; that you’re down for plot or that you want to share contact info to get the ball rolling on plotting or something.
my major points of canon divergence / general opinions.
i personally would not deem ‘brave’ / ‘bravery’ as her lowest quality or trait — she has some degree of it in the event that she is a survivor or sole survivor, lbh — i also would not say she was cowardly or weak. i also believe the supposed lack of curiosity stemmed more from instincts and a sense of danger — and not wanting any of that, which can you blame her?
many interpretations and fandom opinions claim her to have been scheming for mike since even before hannah had interest in him… i will not be following this given she seems to hold genuine guilt / discomforts about the end result of the hashtag cruel prank which by no means excuses her or makes her exempt. i just will not be portraying her as a callous person.
there is a lot of implication that she lacks intelligence and or is a ‘dumb blonde’… i presume this stems a lot from the homecoming queen element or maybe her want to be a model? but i do not think she is unintelligent nor will i portray her as such. btw, i am not saying she is by any means a genius, but she ain’t dumb.
last point of import? she is not a slut. she is openly depicted as having insecurities (and lack of sexual confidence in a way) as shown with mike at the cabin — even though she acts so confident outwardly. also, post storyline? she would maybe, or likely, have scars and thus more insecurities than prior.
* verses notes.
bad moon rising --- general canon. this is the verse that the vast majority of her interactions within the game’s fandom will happen ; and it will have three timeline points that i will tag interactions accordingly with... prologue, main story and then post-game. the first is likely the only one i will be picky about as she would be underage during that time.
given the general time period of the game’s canon being most likely somewhere around 2014 to 2015 or so? i do not feel it necessary to have something deemed a ‘modern verse’ as she is a character set in modern times.
as per usual for like every blog that i will ever own? as ships are plotted and developed? i will have ship verses accordingly. and as of now? her main relationship, or default one, will be with mike / @buriesguilt.
