My heart melted here🥹😭
An dog adoption event was happening in Ohio where many people came to see the dogs.
There was an old man, 71-year-old Gerald, who also attended the event, but he was sitting far away in a chair.
His wife had passed away some time ago; a few days later, his dog also died.
Gerald, with a heavy heart, told a volunteer, "I don’t know why I came here; I just know that I can't bear the loneliness at home."
He just sat on a bench and was watching the people and the dogs with them.
After a while, a 3-year-old Blue Heeler dog named "Hank" was brought into the room, who was looking good and often didn’t go near anyone.
Hank ignored everyone who was standing near him in the room and walked over to Gerald, who was sitting on the bench.
He stopped next to him and sat down by his feet, as if he had found his person.
When Gerald saw him doing this, he became sad and started crying, and Hank was right there with him.
A little while before the event ended, Gerald adopted Hank.
The next morning, we received a message from Gerald, stating that Hank slept with him all night.
He mentioned that it was the first time in the last four months that he slept peacefully at night.
Golden sunrise here in Glastonbury today, looks like it will be a lovely day here. I hope your day is golden and bright where you are...

The Cerne Abbas Giant, an Ancient Hill Figure near Dorset, England. Find out more about the “Rude-Man”. 👇
The oldest record of The Giant dates back to 1694 when the Church Warden of the area recorded that 3 shillings were paid for “Repairing ye Giant”, which were restorative works on the figure. However, along with other famous Hill Figures - such as the Uffington White Horse at 3000 years old - the giant is thought to be much older.
The figure stands at 55m tall (180ft), holds a club in its right hand and sports an 11m (36ft) erection. The image is created from trenches cut in the turf that have been backfilled with chalk.
If The Giant is much older than the oldest record shows (which is thought to be the case), then there are multiple theories for its existence: ⠀
First, it could represent the ancient Celtic god Nodens, who was worshipped by the tribe who lived in Dorset at the time. Evidence for this is mainly from a Celtic-era Bronze Handle found near the site that depicts a naked man on the handle, with a marked relationship in the drawing style. This is also bolstered by the fact that close to the site there are ruins that are thought to be Iron-Age temples, and that the area has been a source of religious significance for centuries.
Another theory is that The Giant could be the hero Hercules. Hercules himself is often depicted as a warrior with a lion skin draped over his shoulder, and scientific tests at the site show evidence of a cloak draped over the shoulder of The Giant, that since has vanished due to a lack of upkeep. Depictions of Hercules and other club wielding warriors were common around Britain during the Roman occupation, especially during the reign of Emperor Commodus as he himself thought he was the second-coming of Hercules, reviving the revelry and admiration for the Hero as a result. ⠀

The giant erection had no influence on my decision to purchase my farm in Dorset!

PSA - AI Phone Call Scams
OK. I answered a call today from what appeared to be a landline number (not moble, although VOIP makes it much harder to tell, these days ).
Stupidly I said hello before the other person*. There was a pause and then a guy with a light regional accent said hello and started talking. He was from a window company - I don't believe he gave the name - and they had a 50% offer on for people with windows over ten years old. Now I never fall for a sales pitch on the phone, but I sometimes let them talk so they can practice their craft.
Anyway. He asked if any of our windows were over 10 years old. I lied and said no. There was a slight pause and it switched to door offers - a normal sales person might do the same, but the slight pause was a bit suspicious. He went on to ask if I was to replace doors or windows in the next year, which would it be. I was still thinking, when he pushed further. He said the sales guys would come round and give a quote that would be guaranteed for a year. I said we have other projects and won't be replacing windows or doors. He pushed on and said the sales team would call me back in 45 minutes, to arrange an appointment. I said firmly, that it was not in our budget and we don't need a visit.
This is the wierd bit: He then carried on and said "so that we can address you correctly, can you spell your name?" I ended the call at this point.
---
At no point did the voice ask if I was the homeowner. It's my experience that genuine sales calls always ask this - it's a waste of time for them otherwise. This was either a very pushy, not brilliant salesman, OR it was an AI scam. I believe the latter. The voice was hyper realistic, but the pauses and timed responses that kicked in too early, are red flags.
This was a really plausible phonecall. Please be very aware. Lord knows what would have happened if I handed over any details.
---
*To filter out incoming automated phonecalls, never say "hello" when you pick up the phone. Remain silent for a few seconds. If it's an automated call and it doesn't get a response, it will ring off, very quickly.
Sorry - no pic - but we've just seen the first hedgehog of the year!!! 🦔
March 2026. New laws coming into force soon mean that owners of dogs who attack livestock face unlimited fines... and police will have powers to break into suspect's houses to collect DNA evidence.
With lambing season well underway... dogs which attack, or worry livestock are becoming an increasing concern. In the south of England such incidents have increased dramatically in the last two years.
Your dog may be docile and friendly, but it still has the potential to cause significant harm. Your pet may only be playing... but if it starts chasing farm animals, that can be enough to cause aborted births in both sheep and cows. In extreme examples, it can cause livestock to run into rivers/lakes and drown... or run over the edge of clifftops.
My dog is now used to running freely on my Dorset farm, but I still keep him on a lead when we walk in other rural areas when farm animals are close.
I would like to remind you... Farmers can legally shoot your dog if there is an imminent danger to livestock. And none of us want to see that happen.
Keep your dog leashed!
Those who were victims of the mainly Pakistani Muslim Rape Gangs here in the UK must be devastated by this. Starmer constantly has "recollections that vary" and Katie Lam quite rightly made a point of order today in Parliament about his atrocious comments and his lies about her!
