[ @a-hell-of-a-lot-of-muses , for Lucian ]
Odd things happen all the time, sometimes things just lined up decently well in the mean time. Cynthia herself had been missing for a couple days– this was to be expected, she did freelance work involving myths and ruins, she always gave decent notice, but once it breaches the 3-day mark, she usually came back, most were anticipating her return to the league or at the very least a city somewhere.
Concerningly, the past couple days the skies above Mount Coronet had been aglow with the familiar cataclysmic distortions, but soon they disappeared, and nothing seemingly came of it. After some run-ins with Team Galactic in the last few years, though, things like that were never a good sign.
In a random city, with the mountains in the skyline, stood an androgynous blonde-haired person, looking pretty much exactly like Cynthia from afar, just with her hair tied into a topknot. The person was fanning themself off with their hat, only exposing more of their blonde hair, even the ever-familiar Garchomp standing near by, the dragon fascinated that a few children were fawning over them both. Though, this Garchomp has a notch in its fin, implying it were male or got an injury.
‘Cynthia’ stands away from the little group, watching in silence before turning away to look around, frowning neutrally.
While it was not uncommon for Cynthia to take off from the league for long periods of time, by the end of the sixth day with no contact Lucian was worried. He left the league in Bertha’s care, for out of all of them, she was the one who could be trusted the most and set off to find the champion. (Flint and Aaron might end up destroying the place, though more so the former than the latter. With Bertha, all parties would be kept in line.)
His search soon brought Lucian to a city not too far from Celestic Town, and after a bit of looking, he spotted what appeared to be the champion herself.
“There you are,” he said, approaching the person who bore a striking resemblance to Cynthia. “I was getting worried.”
He soon came to a stop, pausing for the longest moment as he got a good look at the person in front of him. “…you are not her. My apologies.”
