hello there , my name is lou and i’m going to be writing alec ! i’ve never written him before ( or really any character like him ) so forgive me if i don’t find his voice so to speak quick enough , but i’m looking forward to exploring the character and expanding upon him , developing him in ways to make him my own . lastly , here’s a link to alec’s pinterest board .

alec and jane’s childhood / backstory is currently undecided and being discussed with lucy ( jane’s mun ) and we’ll update when finished .
much of the twins lives as humans is shrouded in darkness in alec’s mind , coping by forgetting the neglect they’d occasionally face from their parents until they were scared enough again to feign caring , the abuse they’d receive from other children — whose parents would encourage and sneer when young jane or alec would weep at the pain . he doesn’t remember much , just the blue of his mothers eyes and how he can still see them if he really thinks about it or the heat of the pyre burning around him despite the temperature of his body .
he took to life as a vampire better and faster than his sister did . the safety in being the apex predator made his immortality a good thing in alec’s mind . he does not think of this , but i imagine if jane had perished in the pyre he would not have accepted his fate so easily . similar to rosalie , he would have resented his vampiric life and mourned the humanity he’d lost had his sister not remained by his side .
diverging from canon , alec is not completely unprepared when it comes to fighting . he still primarily fights from the sidelines and a distance , his gift able to reach far into the distance but should he come across an opponant who is able to withstand he and his sisters gifts he has been trained well enough to fight . still he is not one of the guards most gifted physical fighters .
while the volturi has often travelled while dealing with varying matters , this is one of the few times the primary members of the coven and their staff have taken up a new residence . alec is intrigued by the city and the threat it holds in its darkened alleyways .

alec feels indebted to aro for not only coming to him in his time of need but also his sister . even after all these years , he doesn’t think that debt could ever be repaid nor that it has been ten times over . the twins are his greatest weapons and alec will do anything his master tells him , serving the volturi as if it’s his only goal in life . their bond is almost familial , some could even say alec seeing aro as his father figure .
JANE , TWIN SISTER , TWO SIDES OF THE SAME COIN .
there were only a few short minutes where the twins were without one another but once alec was bore into the world he seemed almost insistent on being his sisters shadow . despite being the younger of the twins , alec took on a protective but teasing older brother role and still to this day would go to the ends of the earth for his sister and at her word . while he is extremely loyal to aro , blindly , if jane left he would follow .

suggested : dimitri or felix . another member of the volturi , a brute or fighter that alec can be partnered up with occasionally while the volturi handle the threat in seattle . i have suggested dimitri or felix , or even both , as they are the vampires sent alongside jane in the books ( and alongside alec too in the film ) during the events of eclipse to observe the newborn army .
i imagine the coven members are somewhat close , even if muses are reserved in nature and would like to explore these relationships .
A HUMAN OR GIFTED HUMAN , ALEC’S SOURCE OF INFORMATION .
whether they’re aware or not , the human and alec’s new friendship is purely built on what information they can supply alec with . this muse would likely be a talkative one , someone who spills information ( no matter how important or unimportant it may seem ) like it’s a breathe from their lips . they would know the city , the situation ( i.e. melonie’s death , other muses ) , etc. well enough for alec to consider them valueable . to them , alec is a curious newcomer to the city whose initial intrigue in the death of melonie reinhart was out of fear for his sisters safety .
to this muse , alec is presenting as another human and they should be unaware of his vampire nature . he would be manipulating them into thinking they had a friendship ( or potentially more , i’m open to more discussion ) in order to continue receiving information .

personally i headcanon alec as a greyromantic pansexual , meaning he is attracted to people regardless of gender or identity however he doesn’t experience romantic attraction often and i imagine thus far has never embarked on a romantic relationship . the idea of alec encountering his mate while the volturi conduct their business in seattle is intriguing to me because i truly cannot see where this potential relationship could go . i have no preference for species ( though i think vampires mates cannot be werewolves / shapeshifters ) or the personality / gender / fc of said muse .
