the notion that you can go to hell and become someone unrecognizable. like, in popular culture, hell is a place where you are tortured for all eternity, cursed to stay chained to the person you were. but in hazbin's hell, you like...keep existing. in fact, you WILL exist LONGER in HELL than you did alive on earth. like i have to imagine angel's life as a mobster made him entirely repress his queerness, a hell in and of itself. can you imagine telling the man, anthony, that he would spend the REST of his existence being an enslaved spider sex worker doing drag and pornos (something that didnt even EXIST when he was on earth)? or telling vincent that yes, you do get all the power you killed for when you were alive and more, but it will never ever for ALL OF TIME make you happy or satisfied?

you either become something utterly unrecognizable to the person you lived as or achieve the worst version of yourself for all eternity.
