most of my projects include art or writings, but my two main projects include a 1920s steampunk original fiction novel and a solarpunk adjacent isometric 2.5d game inspired by robotics, engineering, and constructs (as seen in dungeons and dragons). heres everything im into rn:

Can Gastly's gas cloud set off smoke detectors? My family is hosting a Kantonian exchange student and their two Pokemon and thought their Charmeleon was triggering it, but he's at school with the kid (and has honestly been a lovely houseguest, very chill fire lizard 10/10)

yeah, that's definitely the gastly. charmander don't actually produce enough smoke from their tail to trigger a smoke alarm unless you hold them right up to it. gastly, on the other hand, are dense gaseous bodies, and if they float up to a smoke detector they'll definitely trigger the sensor.

to be honest, there's nothing you can to do completely stop it without removing your smoke detectors (which you absolutely should not do!!). instead, your best bet is to hang up some cleanse tags near each of your alarms. make sure to get ones that have actually been purified by a ghost expert! the only other way to really deter gastly is to install fans, which obviously can't be done near your smoke detectors.
