#animation errors

Okay, so super random...

...but I was rewatching the last episode of Trollhunters the other day, and was literally on the verge of tears, when I suddenly burst out laughing, cause I noticed that Claire didn't have any ears.

I don't know why, but I found it absolutely hilarious. Then ofc, I went back to bawling my eyes out.

They were there just a second before!?? WHERE DID THEY GO????

The ear napper strikes again. 😔

I am curious as to how a mistake like that happens though? Like why is there a version of her model without ears to begin with? It's not like it's hand drawn, and the animators forget to add them for a few frames.

At first I thought it might've been the model for when she's in full armour, but that one shouldn't have hair.

(Sorry if this is super boring. I'm obsessed with animation, and how it's made, so I love focusing on little details. And finding little flaws in animated works is fun for me. I'm obviously not making fun of the animators or anything, they've done amazing work.)

Noticed this double headed Leaellynasaura in the original Walking with Dinosaurs. Actually an odd error in which the animal's animation layer was duplicated and the duplicate only partially showed up.

There's loads of this weird, quirky strangeness in the show's CGI, which are fun to spot to figure out how the animation was done. While re-watching this episode, I also spotted that in some scenes, parts of the Muttaburrasaurus' feet are improperly assigned to the animation bones, so every time their left foot moves, the skin on their right foot contorts and stretches toward their left foot.

None of this is meant to criticize the show, since it took me dozens of watches to spot any of these bloopers, and the show was meant to be watched on 90s cathode tube TVs, not analyzed frame by frame in HD.

This is still the funniest animation error in the show yo me. Not only does Captain Hook magically have two hands again, but he's still holding up the cage, meaning he has a THIRD ARM
