Late night strolls are⊠well, theyâre okay. Heâd much prefer the night walks if he was in Galar - itâs much safer, much more familiar than Spirale could ever be - but heâll deal with it. He always does. Itâs not like he has much of a choice, anyways; he had accidentally fallen asleep on a park bench and slept the entire evening away.
And now heâs walking back to his new housing alongside Felt, taking advantage of the Woolooâs ability to see in the dark - until a voice calls out to him (it has to be him, really; there arenât many Trainers in Spirale).
He barely processes whatâs being said to him as he realizes Cynthia - THE Cynthia - is talking to him. Okay Hop, donât screw this up. This is a really important figure in Sinnohâs history, this is one of the strongest Champions besides Lee anâ the twins, so you gotta impress her. Be calm, be rationalâ
Hopâs eyes sparkle, his mouth slightly agape. âCh-Champion Cynthia?â I said be calm! Hop quickly shakes his head to break out of the starstruck daze he was in before clearing his throat. âI-I mean, my name is Hop. Iâm Leeâ Iâm Chairman Leonâs little brother.â Oof, havenât whipped out the Northern Galarian in a bit. Hope that sounds rightâŠ
âI wish we couldâve met in a better situation, butâŠâ He shakes his head again; heâs getting ahead of himself. âI can explain, Champion Cynthia. Yeâ Youâve been taken to another world by some guys calling themselves âthe Starsâ. This city is called Spirale, and this island is called Radiale.â He informs, expression empathetic. âYour Pokemon are okay, but theyâve been taken by the Stars; youâll have to earn them back byâŠâ donât say behave anâ socialize do not say behave anâ socializeâ â⊠spending time in the city.â
⊠Good enough, I guess.
He gestures to the Championâs Pokeball. âWhatever Pokemon you have with you now has beenâ theyâve been devolved to their first evolution.â He then gestures to Felt, whoâs looking awfully starstruck himself. âThe same thing happened with Felt, my Dubwool⊠heâs just a Wooloo now.â
He hopes he hasnât forgotten anything. âI know itâs a lot to take in,â he sighs, âit was⊠pretty overwhelming for me, too.â And he didnât have someone to tell him all this. âBut!â He perks up, balling his hands into fists, âIâm here to help you out if you need anything; navigating, shopping, you name it, Iâve got your back, Miss Cynthia!â He smiles, wide and reassuring. âEverythingâll be alright!â
She didnât seem to mind how starstruck he seemed very much; if anything, she looked somewhat amused by it, a faint sparkle in her eyes betraying how she was feeling. Sheâd rather have someone feel starstruck around her than be afraid of her due to her powerful status, after all. Still, worry for her Pokemonâs well-being kept her from seeming too happy in the moment.
The long explanation from the boy was met with a long, slow blink, lips pursed into a tight line as Cynthia mulled the flood of information over in her head. Her Pokemon had been devolved? She had been kidnapped to some other world by mysterious figures known as âthe Starsâ? Had it not been for things such as her experience with the Distortion World, she would have found it all rather hard to believe-- but it was evidence enough that she was living this right now.
â...well, Hop, it is very nice to meet you,â She nodded, expression changing slowly to that of a smile-- a warm, genuine one. While this was still all very overwhelming, it was good to know someone here was in her corner while she got her bearings together. âI am glad to know my Pokemon are all alright, though I do still have many questions about this. I get the impression that, since you know so much about this, that youâve been here far longer than I have,â she paused for a moment.
âSo, if you do not mind, I would appreciate if you could perhaps show me around some of the important areas this city has to offer. I do know it is rather late, however, so perhaps we should do that tomorrow.â
Ah, but she didnât know where she was supposed to spend the night... she did have a house key on her, but she didnât have any directions to actually know where the building the key belonged to was. That could be a problem.
âFor now, do you have any idea where...â She stopped to pull the key out of her pocket, looking at the number engraved on it and reading it aloud. â...house 118 is?â
