Being stoic or expressionless means he has to not care enough or at least control his emotions well, which choso could do neither because he is always full of love for his siblings and he was literally born yesterday into the world (he has existed and been conscious for 150 years but it was years being isolated in a bottle). He is like a child with all feelings written on his face and an instinctive love towards people of the same blood.
