Nintendo Switch Lite out September 20 ⊟

Here it is, the newest addition to the Switch line, one that people can’t pretend isn’t handheld gaming anymore. That’s right, everyone out there loves handheld gaming and we were right all along. Details!

$199.99, in Grey, Turquoise, or Yellow. If you can wait until November you can get a Pokemon Sword and Shield version featuring Zacian and Zamazenta for the same price.

It doesn’t dock and doesn’t have removable Joy-Cons, but you can use extra Joy-Cons as additional controllers or if you want motion controls.

The touchscreen is 5.5″, compared to the original Switch’s 6.2″.

It’s lighter at .61 lbs compared to the original’s .88 lbs.

Battery life is supposedly about 30 minutes better?

The Lite has a traditional D-Pad instead of directional buttons.

If it’s not obvious, the Lite will only play games from the Switch library that support handheld mode. For games that don’t support it, you’ll have to connect wireless controllers. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️
