so what language are we allowed to use to discuss the cohort of trans people who identify strongly with their AGAB and treat trans women terribly? Who when confronted with the idea that they might have the power to harm someone else, literally react like "I'm afab u incel"? The reality is that a lot of them are essentially occupying the role of a cisgender woman, while we are treated like a subhuman third gender. Why are *we* the ones getting lectured about being transphobic for trying to talk about it?
ppl love to talk about how trans women are male socialized. which can be true to varying degrees. but what nobody likes to talk about is the unique ways that as a trans women you are expected to be timid, meek, passive & sexless. We need to start talking about shemale socialization.
the way so many progressive posters on both this website and bsky talk about trans women is just so obviously frothing at the mouth with hatred. I genuinely think that I could have recognized these people as raging bigots when I was 10 years old and didn't even know what trans woman was yet. Even then I understood that using the bad behavior of an individual to attack an entire marginalized group was deeply evil behavior. Even at that young age, I knew that it was fundamentally wrong to scrutinize some classes of people more than others. Use all the high-minded social justice language you want, you still clearly haven't internalized such basic ethics
It's always "gender isn't real! Do whatever you want forever!" until a trans woman comes into view, then "afabs have a unique and innate connection to womanhood that amabs cannot ever have." But also "tme/tma is just recreating the gender binary!" And later when trans women speak about how we're discriminated against even by tme queer people it's "we're all faggots in the eyes of the state!"
It's not a coincidence that this is exactly the same kind of goalpost moving that you see literally every kind of bigot engage in.
You’re out at dyke night at a local queer bar with a bunch of other trans women you’re friends with, and you run into a person you know from the gym. They’re more than an acquaintance but not quite a friend, and plenty of the girls in your group know them too, so they sit down and chat. They’re nonbinary and TME, and they’ve been generally chill about hanging with the trans women in your group.
The conversation meanders and eventually lands on trans topics, and almost unprompted they pipe up and say how it’s unfortunate that some trans women retain their male-privileged mindset after transition and remain selfish and domineering and misogynistic. You’re stunned, and you take a second to process that they really felt OK saying that at a table full of trans women. You reply that you know tons of trans women and none of them are like that. By this time another one of the girls is tuning into the conversation and asks what we’re talking about. Gym enby repeats their claim about “some” trans women, seemingly unaware that they are saying something bigoted. The other girl is similarly taken aback at hearing one of the worst stereotypes about us dropped into conversation so casually. She also says that she knows plenty of trans women and none of them are like that.
When pressed, the person admits that they believe this because a trans woman they knew once treated them terribly. One personal experience is apparently justification enough for them to form broad generalizations of an entire group of people they share a community with.
You want to have fun at dyke night, so you decide not to derail the evening into a discussion of just how fucking transmisogynistic that was, and instead you pretend to hear something interesting from a conversation happening at the other end of the table and jump into that. The enby hangs around for a bit but you don’t talk to them again for the rest of the night. You’re not looking forward to seeing them in the gym next week.
we can also add calling people “theyfabs” as well as the whining about the fact that people are acknowledging trans men get raped as even more evidence of you being a piece of shit
When you are a trans woman who is still trying to be accepted by wider society, or even just other progressives and queers, you will find yourself constantly shrinking, accepting all kinds of poor treatment, and it will never be enough. You will start to do the policing for them. You won't speak unless spoken too. You will understand that simple, fundamental aspects of the human experience are off limits for someone like you. You will nod meekly as you got lectured about male socialization, while deep down inside you're screaming that you've been the most pathetic, passive, zombie-like excuse for a human being and it's still not enough. 31 years on this wretched planet and you've never asked someone out, never initiated flirting. You''ve made yourself so quiet and soft spoken and you're still suspect. If you try to talk about it they'll misgender you to your face as punishment. They will never stop to ask if they need to examine their unconscious biases against people like you
Eventually you'll give up, you'll start hanging out with the other problematic trannies. You'll remember that you used to have a personality before the world ground it out of you. You'll realize that you've made a joke about your own sexuality for the first time in 15 years and you aren't getting crucified for it . You'll say something awkward and nobody will care. You will start to have some self respect. You will finally allow yourself to feel indignant. You'll never find enough words to describe the hypocrisy, to ask why their radical politics stopped just shy of seeing you as a human being.
Funny how you never see the people who claim that "tme/tma is reinventing the gender binary" say the same thing about afab/amab. In fact, they seem to really like those terms as identity labels.
It's just so fucking egregious! Because using amab/afab, like this, as identity labels and attributing typical cissexual behaviors to them respectively, isn't even "recreating the gender binary," it's literally just THE Gender Binary! The very same one compulsively assigned and enforced by cissexual society! The very same gender binary that these very people claim to hate and oppose!!
Sick of the TME view of gender as a radical performance of nonconformity rather than the existence of nonconformity and gender being radical through external force declaring it such. Wanting to be taboo vs the natural state of existence being seen as taboo.
yes!!!! too many of them act like it's this game of fucking with the status quo and playing with taboo that trans women have some kind of advantage in, because to be hated more is to Win, and they are Losing because their expressions of gender are seen as more acceptable
if the thing you want out of gender is to be perceived as transgressive, then it's in your interests to continue to construct shock and awe around transgressive expressions of gender
rocky horror and much of mainstream drag serve this function. they cultivate and reproduce a sense of shock around gender nonconformity, gamifying the transgression of the boundaries of gender performance. but in order for that game to be played at all, those boundaries need to remain so they can be continually transgressed. trans women who are harmed by these boundaries and who want to truly do away with them, then, represent a threat to the game
I don't want to revel in the perpetual Challenging of the boundaries of gender performance
if I challenge the boundaries on purpose it's because I want them to go away... but more often than not I am challenging them incidentally, just by being myself. and in real life, which isn't a game or a stage performance, this has incredibly horrible consequences for myself and my sisters
if the boundaries are challenged enough that they go away, and thus no more games or performances can be constructed around Challenging them, then... fucking good!!!!!!!!
can you imagine a future where none of this is transgressive? where it's easy and comfortable to transition because it transgresses no boundaries? a future where people treat all forms of expression and transition as normal? where there's no more fun to be had by shocking people who hold backward views, because those backward views are things of the past? do you want this future like I do?
How it feels to be a trans woman in the modern "trans community".
like dead ass half of you people view us completely identical to terfs, to you we are delusional priviliged males, why do you have to put pronouns in bio and come to trans spaces? the rest of the world is happy to agree with you, can't we have anything? why half the time when i see trans in bio is it just constant criticism of trans women, dismissal of gender dysphoria as a concept, implications that wanting to live as a "normal woman" is gender essentialist and reactionary? You have the whole world - why do you need our spaces and our language too? Can't I have anything? it wasn't like this 20 years ago, I miss having at least one place where i could express myself safely and still be seen as a human being
i am so tired of this misinformation bullshit, so here. Let's talk about what's actually happening with transgendervoicesproject, shortened in this as tmvp (transmascvoicesproject), its old username.
Warning: links to kiwifarms and lolcow as proof of what i am talking about, suicide baiting, ableism, transphobia, sexual assault and rape mention
Updated 10.08.26: Added image description, some more sources, some formatting, added some updates on events, split the post up since it got too long.
L is not from kiwifarms. The thread about "transfeminists on tumblr" was started way earlier than the first time of her posting (on july 13th) and was entirely inactive in that time.
In fact, they didn't even mention her blog at all! Almost like they have no idea what's going on or who L even is.
The lolcow thing is a bit more complicated, but for some context, there have been multiple "transfeminists on tumblr" threads on there. The earliest one is from january of this year.
Mousidy had been mentioned way before the tmvp blog even existed
in fact, her replying to the anon telling her about tmvp existing was the reason lolcow even learned about it. There was no prior mention of tmvp before that. Feel free to check out the link and see for yourself, I do not know how to link to parts of the thread on lolcow.
The post they screenshotted is of mousidy answering an ask informing her of the existence of tmvp. This ask was answered the day tmvp was created.
THAT was the catalyst for lolcow talking about tmvp, but they had been talking about trans women on tumblr for way longer than that and L did not kickstart it. They have had transphobic threads for ages, which you can see by just scrolling through the website, but here's some examples.
I'd also like to note that the trans people both kiwifarms and lolcow talk about are not the same as the ones L either mentioned or has put on the blocklist. There has been almost no overlap, because L doesn't tend to target specific trans people. The only target that exists is her blocklist, which doesn't consist of only transfems, which you can find out by looking at the blogs on it or under the blocklist tag, which shows WHY these people are on the list.
"But she's obsessed with mousidy!" Is she though?
Mousidy is mentioned in the context of a project where transfems can submit their stories here. She also linked people to other projects if she judged them as more appropriate for a story.
Mousidy gets mentioned in the context of being someone L admires and looks up to here.
Mousidy gets mentioned for degendering L who was using she/he at the time here and here. The huge amount of degendering led to L choosing to only use she/her publicly.
Mousidy gets mentioned in the context of L commenting on the content of her posts here and here. Notably, they're comments made about screenshots of the posts, not the posts themselves and they're targeted at what the posts says and not at the person making them.
I do not agree that mousidys post was rapey, I think it was talking about her own experience and she is entitled to do that, but L did elaborate on her logic and she is entitled to have her own opinion on a post and post that on her own blog. I think it is fair for her in return to receive criticism for it, but people claiming she is calling mousidy rapey or a rapist are not reading the post correctly, that is not what L said.
Mousidy gets mentioned in the context of critique of how she is running her project here and here.
Two of the mentions of mousidy are L responding to asks she sent.
All of Ls criticisms and opinions of mousidy have been on her own blog and they have been in response to mousidys behavior.
Other mentions are from anons which i am not going to bother linking, because someone elses behavior is not Ls responsibility, feel free to scroll the blog yourself or search up keywords.
Do you want to know why L complained about mousidy asking for financial help?
Because that's what her blog looks like:
Because it is several posts about how much the tmvp sucks and how and why, bracketed by donation posts. That happened especially when mousidy was on her break (just look at the posts on july 16th). She is essentially saying "this person is bothering me (won't anyone do anything about it?) also you can donate to me here!" which, in this context, is scummy. She's implicitly profiting off of people feeling bad for her because of the situation. And she is aware and okay with doing it!
Like yes, there are other posts in between, but there is still a lot of posts about the tmvp. And a lot of reblogs of posts of the tmvp, so everyone sees how bothered mousidy is. And her feelings are valid, but it is not valid to direct harassment towards someone. L asked people to report mousidy for harassment, not to harass her. She explicitly said that she doesn't condone rape threats towards people, including those she disagrees with.
THAT'S why L asked people to report mousidy - because she is indirectly and directly sending hate her way. If you scroll down even a little bit on mousidys blog you'll see dozens of posts and reblogs of posts mousidy has made about tmvp. There is genuinely so many reblogs of the same posts, I don't know how I could possibly put all of them here. All of them are very visible if you just scroll down on her blog or you could check out @mousidyarchive for the statistics about how often she's mentioned tmvp here.
Here mousidy is encouraging the harassment.
"i am not affiliated with tmvp and here's why" is in her bio as a popular blog on tumblr, linking to her posts about the blog.
There is no discouragement of harassment towards L.
here's mousidy claiming L wants her blog deleted and straight up calling L evil and a warped version of the transfem voices project.
Mousidy is the one who blocked L, yet she still publicly responds to posts she makes, directing people her way.
L was gone on a mental health break because the harassment got that bad.
Why do you think L thinks it's a targeted harassment campaign? Because Mousidy makes posts talking about how upset she is over the takeover of her project, directly mentioning Ls blog by name and being glad about the pushback, because she asks people to "keep the pressure on" because she circulates satire posts from another blog (that was imitating L) as if its L saying them, because she was the one publicly saying the @/anhithemisken blog was her. She still reblogged that post with misinformation in it less than 24 hours ago. Oddly, only @tmvparchive found the untagged posts from this random blog and reblogged it right before the blog became inaccessible.
L posted her sideblogs publicly, censoring her main and anhithe got password locked, which you cannot do with a main. There have also been some confusing renamings i dont want to get into.
It is also possible to backdate posts or edit posts later without it changing the original date.
Update: tmvp-archive in the notes pointed out that the posts couldn't have been backdated, since when a backdated post gets reblogged, it shows the date it has actually been created on, not the backdated date. An example of how it works is here.
The posts are therefore not backdated. However, this does not mean they haven't been edited. Posts can be edited without changing the posting date, as you can see with this post. Would you even know what has changed without me coloring it in?
The proof for @/anhithemisken/tifyagami being L is incredibly weak. As @hopebuttoned points out in their post here, the blog was created after tmvp had already been controversial, on the 16th of June,
"Shared beliefs" and "self-righteous confidence" don't mean they're the same person, by the way.
tmvp-archive, in the notes to this post, says this:
Someone found the blog by looking up "mousidy" on tumblr, but oddly, under the jokerposting tag is only one post with "mousidy" in its body. It is the one where the blog "drops the mask" and claims to be L. A claim L denied, several times.
The post with the comment that makes it clear the posts have existed at the date they were published and weren't backdated, is one of the ones that don't specify it's L. It could've just been a post made beforehand, with the others being edited. There simply is no way to know, since posts were deleted and the blog password locked, shortly after the posts got archived. No one has proof that they said what they say now originally.
Do we just believe everyone who is claiming to be another person? Can I just say I am a random blog and keep it up even though they deny it and get believed? That's stupid, we would demand more proof from them than this.
L on her part offered up proof and said she doesn't know what else she could do to prove it isn't her. She even said she thinks she knows who it is and elaborated on it. Does that seem like someone who got caught?
Anhithemisken offered no proof except for their words and editable posts. Posts that, as this post once more, points out have stopped predicting things L was going to say ever since more eyes are on it. If it was really L, it shouldn't be a problem to drop more personal information on the secret account first, right?
That's kind of it, as far as proof goes. No proof these are unedited posts. Notably, anhithemisken got found AFTER L had shared details about her life publicly.
There was no solid proof, yet she ran with it and so did everyone else. L said it wasn't her as soon as she learned of the blogs existence. The blog posted flashing images, which L warned people on her blog on and yet still she received comments implying it was her posting it.
She also still gets accused of being white, despite saying she isn't in her introduction post and implying such in several other posts.
She is being called racist (by mousidy) for this post, where she later on more clearly expressed her position on. Twice. As a person of color, by the way. Complex moral and political projects are possible, you just have to be careful. It's a fine line that can be walked. Attempting to give survivors a space is not an attack on another group of people.
Each time she is mean to a clear bait post it gets framed as her behavior being awful, even though she spent a lot of time taking her time with many survivors stories, affirming them and empathizing with them and trying her best to be supportive. Someone who gets a lot of satire and sarcasm and snappy attitudes (and multiple parody blogs btw) thrown their way can't be patient and kind to every time she gets met with aggression.
She is still kind to those who are kind to her, by the way, even if it is negative criticism.
She gets accused of weaponizing her own assault against transfems, yet there is people in the notes being like "I got assaulted, so you should take down your blog." In what world is it okay to pressure someone to delete their blog, simply because you dislike its existence?
L already said nothing is going to make her delete it, report it if you want, but just block and move on.
Ls point has always been "just because a person is marginalized, doesn't mean they can't be an abuser" which you can see as early as her first day posting.
The literal second post of this blog is of L being surprised about the hate she has been receiving, back before she even said anything beyond the idea of the project. This blog was always supposed to be survivor focussed, not perpetrator focussed. It was supposed to be a space for survivors of intra community violence to be safe and talk about their experiences. That's why the scope is so small, because it is focussing on a specific issue.
It is very "I like waffles" "so you hate pancakes?", it's just a highly specific project with a highly specific scope. A bird rescue doesn't have to also save dogs, there's enough animal rescues that rescue dogs. It's fine for the bird rescue to exist alongside it. It doesn't hurt the dogs.
The transgender voices project and the transfem voices project are not in opposition, they're not against each other, they're tackling similar problems of sexual violence happening to a group of people.
It is completely fine to dislike the project or think it is bad, but i do not think it justifies the harassment and the vile messages L has been receiving since the beginning. Since before she said anything "racist" or "transmisogynistic" yet. Hell, I have received multiple anons telling me to kill myself, that I am transmisogynistic and racist and ableist, simply for being nice to L and disagreeing with people in the comment section. The worst thing I did was call people stupid. Feel free to look at my comments, see if any of them justify the things I've been sent.
tme trans people be like: i dont see how the all trans women are rapist blog that is dedicated to parodying a specific trans woman's account for the purpose of harassment is hurting trans women
people try to stereotype trans women as crypto right wing 4chan incel etc. but then you go and talk to most of the trans women on this website and she's calling you ableist for using the word stupid
TME trans ppl will tell you that you sound just like a terf bc u tried to discuss how other trans people other trans women .
Then 3 post down you'll see them actually say that any trans woman who thinks "an afab" could ever hold power over them, or have access to queer community and women's resources that we don't is an mra, male, feminist-hating manly man misogynyist who was probably in gamergate
really crazy how comfortable even so called progressive people are policing the language and self-advocacy of trans women. we see right through it. it is not "exorsexist" to discuss the way we are treated by society at large. It is useful to be able to say that, for example, TME people on tumblr.com have a rogues gallery of trans women they treat as subhuman villains, even the ones that think of themselves as good allies. You all view us as less-than and are comfortable policing us and using damaging stereotypes against us.
