No, Lucas most certainly wouldn’t put Vivian and average in the same sentence and he didn’t recommend anyone really trying to do that. Not only admirable as a captain, Lucas thought she was also admirable as a person. He naturally fell in awe with women who held their heads high, who didn’t just let people walk all over them, and stood out above everyone else.

He was also a little terrified of them but in a good way.

“The cheerleadering world or Palmetto?” Lucas asked sincerely, looking between his bowl and Vivian. “I’m all for everyone know it but… are Exy teams even on the cheerleading circuit?” He didn’t know. Lucas didn’t follow the competitive cheerleadering world outside of their campus. Competitive dance, once upon a time considering he grew up in that world but even now his interest has fallen flat. A lot of his interests have fallen flat.

“But a victory party? That’s my cup of tea right there,” Lucas turned his worried expression into a beaming smile. The actual partying, he didn’t get too involved into that often anymore but planning and decorating? Now that was right up his alley. “Please tell me we can do a themed party. Like sure, it’d be a victory party but a themed victory party? Opens up to so much more fun.” He took another bite from his smoothie bowl before he set it down on the table.

“Everyone loves a good Vixen party.”

“Sport’s a sport, all that cheerleading world requires is we do our sport so,” That and even if they didn’t qualify, Vivian would have been perfectly capable of finding and locating blackmail material to make sure that they did. Sure, that wasn’t ethical or maybe defeated her purpose a little bit but hey an in was an in.

“Themes?” Vivian raised an eyebrow, trying to work that out in her head. Parties were parties, they were all shots, good lighting for selfies and regrets in the morning. “Like what sort of theme? If it’s something weird then I’m putting my foot down as captain,” 

Her head was going to those weird fancy dress weddings that people did, which was also a big no. 

“That’s true,” Viv conceded with a nod of her head, “Which means that we have a reputation to uphold,”

Maybe if she said it enough and clicked her heels three times and said there was no place like home.

Except no, Vivian Brooks was definitely on the verge of committing printer homicide. She’d taken to printing out their schedules for the upcoming away game because hooray their Coach was fundamentally useless and Vivian refused to sink down to the level of mediocrity. That meant their schedules were currently on print out, they’d be slid under everyone’s doors and they would be adhered to or woe betide you if you faced Vivian’s wrath.

Their printer incidentally had decided to give up on life, or someone had fucked with it and that person would be dead when Vivian found them.

Or subjected to a spectacularly cruel and unusual punishment that Vivian was dying to think up.

With a noise of frustration that sounded like she might have been Xena in another life, Vivian banged her fist down onto the printer where it only proceeded to mock her further. 

“When the robot invasion comes,” Vivian muttered in a dark voice, “You will be thrown in the ocean for being worthless, so you can mock me now,”

The sound of movement nearby had Vivian glancing up from her tirade, a dangerous look on her face.

“If you mock me, you and the printer will be going exactly the same way,”

Cade had been drowning in his textbooks for nearly three hours before he finally pushed away from his desk and decided that he’d earned himself a much needed break. The hard part would be getting back to work, that’s for sure, but an hour of peace would hopefully put him in a less frustrated mood when he did return. He could only read the same paragraph on emergency diagnostic imaging of reptiles so many times before his brain began to melt.

He grabbed his glass and headed down the stairs to the main floor of the Den. Maybe if no one was around he could pilfer the cabinets for some of the good stuff. Even if someone was on the couch, he’s sure he can be quiet enough to steal the cheese puffs and run away before anyone notices.

But instead, he found Vivian fighting with the printer and clearly damning it to a life of hell in the future. He’s seen that plenty of times in the library—but not here at the den.

“Pretty sure all printers hate us; I’m not gonna mock you,” Cade said as he passed behind her so he could set his cup down.

“Its probably just throwing a temper tantrum. Last time I needed to print something, it took about half an hour to figure out what was wrong with it.” He walked back over, peering at the printer and trying to see if there was any message or warning lights on it.

“I know, dumb question, but did you try unplugging it?”

“Good,” was Vivian’s retort as she eyed the printer with a specific look of disdain, wondering if anyone would dare hold her back if she threw it out the window. 

She’d pay for the window, of course, she wasn’t an animal.

Still the printer mocked her, it’s lights blinking green as though it was just casually hanging out - waiting for someone to use it. “Unplugged it, reset it, checked for jams,” Vivian rolled her eyes “Zilch, I think printers get off on tormenting humans as a species,” 

Printers fundamentally the most useless technology invented, maybe more so than those weird vacuum cleaner shoes she’d seen one a late night binge of the discovery channel.

“Ugh work,” Viv huffed, slamming her fist down on it again before it finally conceded and began spitting out the sheets that she’d sent to print forever ago.

“I would say thank you,” She muttered to the printer, “But I don’t mean it,”

Lucas takes another spoonful of his smoothie bowl before giving Vivian a smile and a nod. Most of the time, his morning consists of fruit and it’ll at least get him through half the day. Especially during the school week since Lucas purposely put all his classes in the morning so he’ll always have the afternoon for homework and the night for having fun or the other way around. He’s never been that good about starting something and then dropping it to go to class only to start something again and drop it again to go to class. He’s tried that routine and it only seemed to make him more tired by the end of the day.

“You’re the cap, I’m sure whatever you have in mind will be great,” Lucas says as he fishes for a blueberry. When it comes to the Vixen routines, Lucas is always more than happy to try something new and puts a hundred percent faith into Vivian. Especially considering their coach isn’t exactly… well, Lucas isn’t a big fan of the woman and it’s apparent she couldn’t possibly care less for the Vixens than she already does.

Part of Lucas is apprehensive, like always, at the thought of more tumbling. It’s his favorite part because he can show off and there’s a level of challenge to it for him. At the same time, Lucas knows that it isn’t easy on his body, especially his bad leg. Some days after practice Lucas spends more time than he likes to admit icing his hip and his stump. Still, he refuses to give up the thrill of adrenaline from performing and performing at his best. “I think we’re as good as we are thanks to you. Football cheerleaders be damned,” Lucas beams when he says the words. He doesn’t like the other cheerleaders, not one bit. Maybe if they get attitude readjustments. In his mind, he’s done nothing wrong to him and they choose to be assholes to him. Not nice people.

“It will be,” Vivian said without a hint of modesty because that was for basic bitches and she most certainly wasn’t one of those. “It’s me we’re talking about here, I don’t do average,” She did so fancy that they may as well give her, her own Netflix movie. Except in those movies, it’d be some doe eyed white girl who’d come in and wrestle Vivian’s crown from her and take all the credit. In those movies, Vivian knew that she’d always be the villain - always the bitch, always the woman that you were warned against becoming.

The person she had become anyway and that she was not sorry for.

Vivian rolled her eyes, but without venom behind it and a smirk on her lips. The rivalry might be stupid in her opinion, but she was nothing but viciously defensive of what she called her own. “No one’s gonna know what hit them, the Vixens are the best and the cheerleading world’s going to know it,” 

The cheerleading world might be small minded and not care about an exy squad, but that didn’t mean Vivian wasn’t going to show them. The entire squad was going to show them who exactly they were.

“We should start planning our victory party for when we stomp all over them,” Vivian mused.

Jen just stands there awkwardly and waits for Vivian to decide whether they’re worth her time. They usually try not to be intimidated by people, but she’s their captain, and they want her to like them. They don’t have years of cheer experience like most of the Vixens, and they still have a lot to learn. Considering Coach Corey barely pays attention to them, it seems like Vivian would be the best teacher. 

“Uh–is it like this?” Jen laughs before going into an archer’s stance and pulls an imaginary bow and arrow. Yoga isn’t the standard Exy workout, so they never got the chance to learn. If their dad ever saw them practicing the different poses, he’d probably tell them to stop wasting their time and run laps. The idea of it seems nice though, deep breathing, grounding themself, and improving their balance and flexibility. 

Dropping their arms they give her a sheepish grin, “I really only know downward dog.” She probably thinks they’re an idiot. It reminds them a little of hanging out with Sterling, who always finds a way to make Jen feel like a childish, delicate bird or something. They just remind themself they’re not delicate. They survived their dad, they can survive anything.

Maybe she’ll add yoga poses onto the Vixens warm up, it’ll be a good addition to their stretching routine and as captain, Vivian did have to keep everyone on their toes. Security was close to being mediocre after all. 

She tried to tone down the judgemental look that seemed to be her equivalent of resting bitch face, it wasn’t like Vivian was trying to be mean but her brand of running the show was a particular brand of tough love. She didn’t even know if she had it in her to be gentler, maybe she’d try it if it didn’t ring so hollow in her chest.

“Not quite,” She told them, not quite her usual brand of cutting remark so maybe there is hope for her after all. “You can do the splits right?” 

Vivian got down on the floor, going into the splits and demonstrating the stretch - remembering to keep her back arched and everything that she’d learned in yoga class. “It helps you with the stunts, especially the more intense flyer ones that we’re adding more of,”

Raleigh had been determined to stay far away from the Foxes, when she first got to Palmetto. In another life, she might have fit right in with them: the girl who was abandoned, the girl who was imprisoned, the girl who bared her teeth and raised her fists, who fought for every scrap she had in the world. But that was just that—another life. She wasn’t that girl anymore. The last thing she wanted was for anyone to know that she ever had been that girl. 

And she was afraid that, if she got too close to the Foxes, then somehow, everyone would know. Everyone would see that she had more in common with them than she did with everyone else. 

That she’s with the Foxes now is nothing more than a last resort. After she had been kicked off her old squad, the Foxes had felt like a shield: the only people on this campus that were laughed at more than her. She didn’t want to be alone on this campus, and she wanted to show all her old friends that, though they could kick her off their squad, they couldn’t keep her from cheerleading. She could still wear Fox Orange and hold her head high. 

More than anything, she hates the feeling that she owes Vivian—even if she does, even if Vivian let her onto this squad when she didn’t have to. She’s too proud for that: too proud to ever beg for a spot back on her old squad, and too proud to thank Vivian for her spot on this one. 

It makes her shorter with Vivian than she maybe should be, like she needs to let Vivian know it. Because it’s not like Raleigh isn’t an asset, a seasoned cheerleader where so many on this squad seem to be cheerleading on a whim, without the experience and the skills that she brings. Maybe Vivian should be thanking her—not that she’s holding her breath for that. 

“Oh, believe me, I don’t,” she says, blowing across the surface of her tea before she takes a sip. It’s warm, where she’s not. “You’re the one that insisted I was staring.”

Does she trust the Vixens to have her back and not fuck up on the field? Yes.

Does she trust this particular ‘Vixen’? About as far as she can throw her.

Something in Raleigh’s expression, for all that she was a good cheerleader and even Vivian was willing to concede that point. Slightly. For all that she was, it put Vivian off, that just because the football team had thrown her out on her ass, that didn’t mean that she got to get a look on her face like the Vixens were beneath her. 

Vivian didn’t have to do a thing she didn’t want to do and Raleigh ought to be grateful that Vivian had even bothered. 

“Well darlin’ when you stand there, looking at me for a long time - a girl’s gonna think that you’re staring but if you say you weren’t hon, then you weren’t,” 

Besides, there were other matters to deal with. 

“By the way, we’re amping up our routines, more kick doubles from basket tosses and that sort of thing. We’re going to be showing more flying and tumbling stunts, I assume you’re going to be able to handle the new additions with your...” Pause, smile like sweetness and light. “Experience,”

Vivian doesn’t consider herself the best student in the world but poetry is her niche in the English department, she loves Dickinson and poetry slams - even if English is only her minor rather than her actual major. Working hard is the only life that she’s understood, battling with bloody fingers to get what she wants and that reverbs into her school work. Her grades are hard won, like it’s a battle field and she goes like doesn’t know how to stop. 

The library is not one of her favorite places in the world, the silence unnerves her and Vivian is an oxymoron unto herself - she can’t stand silence and she can’t stand too much noise. Still, she has an essay to prep for and a test that she is going to kill. 

It’s with a thick stack of books to take precise notes from that Vivian walks out of the shelves, laptop in her shoulder bag ready to work away from. She’s going to make progress today and hell hath no fury like Vivian Brooks when she has a mission. 

It’s just her luck that all the seats in the study spaces seemed to be all taken, she almost rolled her eyes at the injustice of it all. Except she’s Vivian and she doesn’t give up so lightly, circling the room like a prowling tiger until she spots a free seat - with a familiar face next to it.

One thing Vivian won’t consider herself is BFFs with Grant Rollins but there’s respect from her end, captain to captain. She doesn’t worry about the Foxes because they’re his turf and she assumes he has it handled. Still they’re not close, but who in this world is she close with?

“Rollins,” Vivian said civilly, books in arms, her intention to swoop in the empty seat before anyone else could “This seat isn’t taken?”

Vivian didn’t make a habit of hitting up the dining hall, it was too crowded, too annoying and too close to the football squad and their ilk. She’d much rather grab something quick and go or haul ass back to the Vixen Den. Today was different, today she had too many things on her place that meant that she either had to suck it up and go to the dining hall or spend all day without food.

Hangry Vivian was not a sight that anyone wanted to see, besides she was Vivian fucking Brooks and she wouldn’t be defeated by anything as weak as a Dining Hall. Who did these people think she was?

So she walked like she was walking a runway, back ramrod straight and head held high. If Charlize Theron had ever imparted a more important life lesson it was this one, ‘think murder and walk’ and everyone parted like the red sea of ants.

Her lunch tray is neat and orderly, stopping to sit down is far from her mind but Viv is sure that she’ll be able to work it out as Vivian comes to a halt beside the blessed coffee machine. Rummaging through her purse, all Vivian can come up with is a note and her spare change is running to maybe a quarter.

Ugh.

“Hey,” Vivian said, turning to the person next to her, “Got change?” She wielded the note between her fingers almost like a weapon.

Lucas pulls out a seat at the patio table, setting his bowl down and making himself comfortable. It isn’t cold enough that he feels the need to run back inside, but the brisk chill did do wonders in actually waking him up. Maybe he could make it a habit of opening the window in the morning just to stick his head out–not enough to make it cold in the room. That wouldn’t do him or Noah any good; morning were already rough.

“I know morning stretches are nice… I don’t know about morning exercise,” he says with a tease before he takes another bite from his smoothie bowl. He’d been doing morning stretches for years more out of necessity than anything else. But Lucas isn’t about to go out for a run bright and early. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t put in his time and effort when it comes to the Vixens. His numerous extra practices that Noah’s been witness to proves that.

“This? Oh, it’s a smoothie bowl. Got some mangoes, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and apples. And there are some oats on top with a few extra berries.” He tilts the bowl so that Vivian can see the contents. “There’s extra in the kitchen or there’s a nice big stack of pancakes with fresh whipped cream. Your pick if you’re hungry after your workout!”

He’s sure there will end up being other baked goods in the kitchen. If there’s one thing anyone can count on, it’s that there is always something made in the kitchen since a number of them are always cooking or baking something.

“Got any new routines in mind?” Lucas asks curiously, raising his eyebrows.

“I don’t think anyone knows about morning exercise but getting the Vixens to be the best requires dedication so,” Vivian shrugged, if she’d seen anything in her life it had been that she wouldn’t get anything if she sat around and waited for it. The world didn’t want to give her anything, so she had to claw and she had to fight for it. If bringing the Vixens to the top meant that she had to haul her ass out of bed at ridiculous o’clock, then she would haul ass.

She wrinkled her nose, not out of distaste and peered into the bowl, “Getting your five a day in early huh?” Vivian hadn’t given much of a thought to what she’d have for breakfast, she wasn’t the world’s worst cook and she wasn’t the best either. She didn’t usually tend to eat until an hour or two after she woke up and after her exercise so it was mostly a whatever was there and Vivian’s cooking prowess just extended to dumping cereal in a bowl. “I’ll keep it in mind thanks,”

“I have some ideas,” Vivian said, her lips quirking a little but fast enough it might have been a trick of the light. “I’m trying to up our stunt work and tumbling, though not too overcrowded and clean enough that it still impresses. It’s a fine line but we’re getting there,” Vivan was meticulous in her routines, she spent a lot of time chipping away at them and if she was honest, she wanted to give the Vixens something so that they’d still have a solid base after she was gone. 

She’d haunt the vixens forever and they’d have to deal with it.

Mars’s career isn’t the most lucrative (yet) but it’s managed to make her enough money to keep herself comfortable. She’s got her car and her weed and her laptop of course, all necessary and important, but she hasn’t yet been able to justify buying herself a console. It’s fun, but essentially frivolous unless she wants to foray into streaming.

Thankfully, some generous Vixen has stuck their PS4 in the common area and offered it up as a communal device as long as everybody makes sure to charge the controllers. Mars tends to avoid the central area of the Vixen Den. She’s got her own room where she can curate the company and keep the sheets clean and smelling of Downy Unstoppable Spring 2.0.

But she’s got a sudden and pressing urge to play Kingdom Hearts and nowhere to do it but here, on this lumpy couch, tolerating the annoying presence of people she doesn’t necessarily care about or like.

Still, Mars has never been shy and she’s certainly never felt the urge to diminish her own presence to make room for other people. She spreads across the couch, puffs openly on her pen blowing clouds of scented vapor towards the ceiling, and bounces her head along with the first cords of Simple and Clean as it blasts from the tv speakers.

It’s only when she’s halfway through Destiny Island that she notices someone else is in the room and watching.

“Don’t make it weird,” Mars says idly without looking away from the screen. “Either pop a squat or move along honey.”

Vivian’s evening had mostly been free and that was odd enough for the girl, she had a pathological urge to keep moving and keep going - sitting still felt like an insult. 

She’d tried to occupy herself in her usual way, scrolling through Netflix to try and find something - didn’t she always have shows to catch up on? Even still, nothing caught Vivian’s interest and she made a non committal noise of disgust at the latest rom com that had erupted onto the platform. She didn’t need to go on twitter and see everyone squeeing otp about some heterosexuals again. Even her usual brand of true crime didn’t seem to capture her attention today.

Vivian let out an irritated noise, flopping back on her bed - she felt itchy somehow, like she just had to keep going and she couldn’t explain it. After a minute of staring up at the ceiling, the brunette made another irritated noise before giving up and heading downstairs, for a ‘glass of water’ or literally something, anything at all to keep her occupied. The sound of some janky pop blasting from the common area, caught her attention and she poked her head in - out of a bored interest.

Eyebrow raise as she caught sight of Mars on the PS4 but she dropped her ass down on the couch next to her, glancing up at the screen. 

“Why are you playing Island Survivor or whatever the fuck?”

Jen rubbed at their itchy eyes as they jabbed at the coffee machine in the Den kitchen. They were slow moving this morning, having stayed up late talking to their siblings about Championships. Luckily for them, their first class of the day wasn’t for another hour, so they had time to linger and make coffee. Grabbing some creamer from the fridge they dosed the black coffee with cream and sugar, trying to make it as sweet as possible. 

They wrinkled their nose after taking a sip. It wasn’t anything like a Starbucks caramel macchiato, but they couldn’t afford to be picky these days. As long as it woke them up. As Jen sipped at their sickly sweet coffee, they gazed idly out the window in a sleepy trance and saw their captain doing stretches in the backyard. They couldn’t help but admire her commitment to the sport. Coach Corey was like an absent parent, but at least they had a captain who cared. 

Jen spent the past few months wavering on their choice to leave Exy for the Vixens. They liked to think they were trying their hardest at their new sport, but they could probably be more proactive. After all, they were hovering around the kitchen while Vivian was stretching. Setting their coffee on the counter, they stepped outside and watched her go into her next move, not even realizing they were being weird and staring. 

Jen lets out a snort in response as they bury their hands in their sweatshirt pocket. “I’m pretty sure I’ve already liked all your Instagram pics,” They admit with a little smile. “Actually, I was hoping you’d show me how you do your stretches.”

Vivian lowered her leg, amused at the admission that they had liked all of her pictures but she didn’t show it. “Good taste,” Vivian remarked, falling back into her usual stance of folded arms. It’s not an exactly approachable stance but Vivian had never really looked approachable or nice. 

In any other setting, she’d be the movie’s villain and maybe she still was but at least she was a three dimensional one. 

She tilted her head, making almost a show of considering - the minute Jen had asked her, Vivian had already decided that she would but still there was a theatricality in the way that she had to carefully consider. As though she had better things to do with her time.

After all, Vivian just had to make people sweat a little first before she just up and agreed to things.

A minute of the theatrics and the ‘I am thinking about this, as though it’s worth my time’ look and Vivian unfolded her arms, “Alright, do you know how to do a bow and arrow stretch?”

For the four years that Raleigh has been at Palmetto, the Everharts have been sending her care packages. They’re full of little things: some socks or a scarf; a necklace or some hand lotion; usually something with a cat on it—and usually a box of tea, a collection of which she keeps in a cabinet in the Den’s kitchen, snapping at anyone who touches it. 

It’s another semester at Palmetto, her last semester at Palmetto, and she’s just gotten her first care package from home of the new year, after coming back from Christmas loaded down with gifts. She cherishes every one of them: they’re just things, but she used to have nothing. When her parents left her, all she was left with were the things that they had given her, and she held onto them as tightly as she could, learned to fight to protect them. The Everharts give her things, and they mean that she thinks she deserves them. They’re thinking of her, they want her to have them.

It’s a quiet morning, a mug of a new tea held warm between her hands as she makes her way towards the Vixens’ backyard in her socked feet. Or—it was a quiet morning, until Vivian interrupts it.

Raleigh doesn’t get Vivian. She has drive. She has skill. She could have been a cheerleader on the football squad, on that squad that used to be Raleigh’s, but she had chosen this instead. Like the Foxes were anything other than baggage and bad news. But maybe Vivian knows something Raleigh doesn’t: she’s Captain on this squad, while Raleigh’s dreams of being Captain on her old one had crumbled in to dust, left her tumbling from the height of Palmetto’s social hierarchy to land here. The lowest of the low. Certainly lower than Vivian. 

“I live here,” Raleigh says dryly, leaning against the doorframe. “You’re gonna tell me I can’t enjoy my own backyard?”

Of all the things in the world, the Vixens are hers - something that no one else can take from her.

Vivian is possessive over what she deems hers and more than that, she’s not afraid to get her hands dirty when it comes to protecting what’s hers. 

She’s always been more wolf than girl after all.

If she is a mystery to Raleigh, then Raleigh is a mystery to her - the football/exy rivalry irritates her like an annoying gnat and she’d rather show what they’re made of by kicking their asses at what they’re good at. Social structure is nothing compared to winning and the vibes that Vivian got from Raleigh, well she can shove them up her ass. 

She arches a perfectly manicured eyebrow, almost dipping into a sarcastic sort of saccharine but not quite hitting it. 

“I don’t own it last I checked,” Maybe not but this was still her turf and everyone had better respect that. “So by all means...”

As Vivian let go of her leg, she waved a non committal hand as though she was swatting a fly out of the way. “Just don’t mind me,”

Lucas woke up in a mood. Not a bad mood like he’d been in the previous few days (and not really bad either but more sad that seemed to be never-ending). This was a productive mood which meant he had to do something and that resulted in the kitchen being taken over by his cooking mess. He made pancakes, waffles, and homemade whipped cream. The pancakes and waffles were set on the counter with a note of the whipped cream being in the fridge. He moved on to his next adventure of making a smoothie bowl because why drink a smoothie in a cup when you can have it in a bowl?

A few mangoes and strawberries and other assorted berries later, Lucas is happily in smoothie bliss while trying to ignore all the problems he has in his life right now. What do they matter? He’s got fruit. Blended. In a bowl.

God, he needed to do something with his life.

Earbuds in, Lucas heads for the backyard so he can sit down at the little patio set up they have and at least enjoy the morning before he needs to move on with the rest of the day. Life doesn’t pause. Neither do mothers who come back with a vengeance apparently.

Lucas didn’t think anyone else was up and around at the Den. Silly of him considering how many people but it had been a quiet morning. He doesn’t mean to stare, but he’s trying to go through the mental decision making of staking his claim to a chair or going back inside with his tail between his legs.

“There are a ton but there are never enough, Vivian,” Lucas says with a bright smile before taking a bite from his smoothie bowl. He moves over to sit at the patio table. “I just wanted to come outside for a bit. Are you having a good morning? It seems pretty quiet today.”

Vivian rolled her eyes, there might have been a trace of fondness in the gesture but you’d never know - she had a reputation to uphold after all. “Thank you for the validation,” She conceded with a nod of her head as she dropped her leg down and picked up her other leg to go into the stretch again. “Not that I needed but I always appreciate the ego boost,”

She wasn’t affectionate or outwardly very complimentary to the members of the Vixens, a ‘good job’ from her was akin to winning the lottery. Still though, she had a soft spot for a lot of the members of her squad. While she didn’t pretend that she was the nicest of team leaders, she got the job done and she trusted her team to have her back.

Trust was a rare thing for her but Vivian had it for her squad. 

“Well,” She said with a little shrug “I don’t own it so feel free,” 

Vivian shrugged again when Lucas asked if she was having a good morning, “I’m still not a morning person but my exercise routine is more important than sleep so here we are, plus the fresh air wakes up my body,” 

Maybe if the squad ever badly fucked up, Vivian would wake them up at an obscene hour with a bullhorn and force them to do her workout routine. 

She wrinkled her nose, noting the smoothie bowl. 

“What’cha got in that thing?”

Time: Morning-ish?

Today’s nail color was orange so no one had to run for the hills just yet, that was always a maybe though given Vivian did have a habit of carrying her nail bag around with her. What could she say? One of life’s essentials.

Everything seemed to be coming off the back of the holidays, always a sore spot with the twee commercials and people angsting about family. For Vivian it was a time of blatant lying, “There’s no way I can come home, it’s just too far away,” as she then headed to Paris for the holidays. For now all the twee things were packed away and Vivian could focus on the upcoming home game.

She made a habit of getting up early, not because she liked it but well she could strike fear into people’s hearts easier if they woke up and there was practically no escape from her.

This might be the Vixen Den but she was Queen Vixen and this was her territory.

She was going through her stretching routine in the backyard, the motions as easy as breathing - something that she’d clawed her way into. Vivian had worked hard for this and all the bruises had been worth it. She’d made herself something and she’d make herself something screaming that she didn’t care at the top of her lungs.

It was leaning forward in the middle of a scorpion stretch that Vivian became alerted to a presence near her. 

Not that she wasn’t used to being watched but.

“I’d say you can take a picture but there’s already a ton on my insta if all you’re going to do is stare,”
