“Look Out In the Ages” by Tuco Amalfi
my third eye has opened and its a googly eye
I find it fascinating that people who choose not to have children are generally assumed to feel really strongly about not having children (or even to feel really strongly against children, anyone’s children, in general). I am probably not going to have children, not because I REALLY REALLY HATE the idea of having children, but because I don’t really really love it. Out of all the major decisions I will make in my life, this one is the only irreversible one. I can sell a house, quit a job, divorce a spouse, whatever. I cannot unhave a child. I cannot opt out of being a parent once I become a parent. I can’t even take a step back for the sake of self-care or whatever, or else my child will suffer.
So for me, having children is fuck yes or not at all. The default will be to remain childfree. Having children should be an opt-in decision, not an opt-out one. Until/unless I develop really strong feelings about wanting to have children, I won’t have them, even if that means I never end up having them at all.
Sorry, I could never be a capitalist, I suffer from “wanting humans to have their basic needs met” disorder, where I care about people who aren’t me.
Someone once asked me if, assuming we got universal healthcare, I would be okay with the rise in “healthcare tourism” where people who are sick come to our country to get their medical bills taken care of and life-saving medical treatment cheaper than in their home countries. I was just like, yeah thats fine, I’d actually prefer it if 0 people died from preventable causes kept behind a paywall for no reason.

I’m feeling kinda helpless at the moment because I can’t do commissions for donations due to work and because I work in a clinic that does COVID stuff I don’t want to go out into community events and risk exposing people – please check out the resources above and help if you can. Feel free to share this in part or in whole – This was designed to be a mini zine you can download it here and make it if you want

the only reason cops are at pride now is to intimidate gay people into not making it a riot again and i will stand by that fact until the day i die
If the occasion should arise and I attend a pride festival, I would also like it to not become a riot.
imagine being this guy
arent they there? to stop any attacks from the anti lgbt groups?? yknow the ones that ALWAYS gather there???
contrary to what this newer generation of lgbt people think, cops are a new addition to prides. only within the past 10/20 years have they actually started “protecting” pride. aka standing around and intimidating the general public. historically, lgbt people have protected ourselves and eachother during pride events. from police in a lot of cases actually. ive been to pride events where the anti lgbt protesters were the ones being “protected” from the pride crowd… the cops arent there for us. theyre there to boost the image of the police force and make us think they care. the only people who feel safe around cops are the classes that they are meant to protect and people who are uneducated about police. (theres a heavy overlap as well.) you may feel safe around cops but many people do not. theyre literally dogs to the upper class.
2018 Baltimore pride was crashed by terfs who marched with the cops. pigs protected them.
my favorite theory about anything ever is that the titanic sank because too many people time traveled to that place to try to stop the titanic from sinking
the purge but in reverse everything is illegal for 24hrs so we all just go to bed and be quiet for a bit
