Passed me on the way down descendin' the stairs And the whole room is watchin' while pretendin' to dance
- Vampire, Dominic Fike
âCan I ask ye something?â It is embarrassing, he has no doubt in his mind she is going to ask several questions and potentially wheedle him about such a thing forever. And yet, maybe Jamie doesnât mind so much if itâs her. Evie is family and while heâs made himself scarce the last few weeks, heâs managed to check in with her. Itâs safer for him to meet her at Ambrosia than at the villa. Taking her there would only cause her to ask more questions, the place is big, obviously lived in by the living. He didnât think Evie stupid by any means, but he also didnât think heâd ever outright told her he was seeing someone, itâd be a lot to spring on her at once. @eviebordeauxâ
mylesxdelianâ:
Lips melted together once again, soft, confident, like a promise that there would be many more like it. Hyacinth had a hard time envisioning what their life together might be like before, but with each passing day it seemed more and more that it would be simply this: the three of them, together. It was the thing that Apollo had never given him, reassurance that there would be no shortage of time spent together. He pulled Jamie closer against his chest and brushed his cheek against the top of the vampireâs head, âIt was a first,â Hyacinth offered, âI am no oneâs blood bag but it felt good in the moment. Control, it is fun to play with.â A beat passed as he breathed in the rich scent of the otherâs conditioner. âI love you. All of you.â
-
Itâs startling, the swell in his chest at the affection and he thinks the only thing he can equate it to is some kind of adrenaline rush. It has him sitting up only to look at Hyacinthâs face and he doesnât know what heâs looking for, or if heâs simply just looking. He doesnât doubt him, him nor Patroclus, but the confession, that word, part of him wants to scoff at it. And another part of him wants to desperately cling to the man before him and ask him to say it again. âYeâll have tae forgive me, Iâm still trying tae figure all of that oot.â His fingers graze the side of the Spartanâs face before heâs leaning down to kiss him. Itâs different from earlier, gentler, and maybe that same cynical part of him that would scoff at the idea of anyone loving him might need practice at such a touch. Pulling away, he glances to the mattress, thumb stroking across a chiseled cheekbone. âI din think Iâve ever had anything like this, where it felt real at least.â
His first progeny, theyâd had what heâd thought love was supposed to be like, itâd been different than whatever heâd had with his sire. His sire that he still thought wanted him docile, wanted him at his side at all times. But heâd left Corinth, heâd taken his little trips to Athens, heâd fought both partners on remaining what he was, and now heâd plunged them both into danger and they just...Theyâd stayed, theyâd both stayed, neither of them seemed to shy away from his sharp edges, theyâd accepted them. âEvery time I think Iâve figured it oot, something new happens.â Jamie thinks back to the greenhouse, the explanation that he couldnât pay Hyacinth back for what heâd done for him and he winces. âI know ye din do things for me tae get something oot of it. What I said earlier, I didnae mean tae imply such a thing.âÂ
kairosxevanderâ:
Patroclus looked more sorry than anything else, the blade in his hand hanging by his side now. He pulled it up, wiping the blood from it with his other palm to try and avoid staining his clothes more than they already were. âIâm fine, they canât hurt me,â he murmured, bending down and closing the eyes on the decapitated heads. âSomething like that. But they didnât deserve a second chance, not with the live they were living. And their deaths â more of a blessing, since Persephoneâs curse wonât spread any further with them.â He looked over Jamie when he stood back up, âThanks for coming â even though this isnât what I had in mind.â
-
Something about the way Patroclus says it actually has him grimacing internally. He hadnât felt any loyalty towards his kind in Corinth since the incident below the hotel. If he didnât know them personally, he didnât owe them anything. And itâs because of that he reaches down to pocket a daylight ring or two, the light of the morning could get rid of the bodies. He wondered if they had known who Patroclus was or if theyâd just noticed he felt different. It doesnât quite matter, theyâre dead, Patroclus is safe and they shouldnât linger in case these vampires either have friends or someone stumbles upon all the blood. âWhatâs all this aboot?â Jamieâs still quiet as he steps over a body to actually get to Patroclus, a hand immediately finding the side of the shorter manâs face. A dead vampire he doesnât know doesnât mean anything to him, what matters is that Patroclus is safe, that someone he cares about is alright. Everything else is secondary.
mylesxdelianâ:
Everything from the wound at his neck, to the blood in Hyacinthâs veins had recovered almost instantly. Whatever Jamie had taken had replenished, Apolloâs blessing saw to it. Naturally though, since the sex was over Jamie seemed to be going through some existential crisis. It had been evident from the greenhouse to the shower that the vampire was still on edge, so as Hyacinth laid in their bed, one arm folded behind his head, he waited for the imminent implosion that was about to occur. He might have even been able to count down if he was paying close enough attention, his eyes traced Jamieâs form as the vampire lingered in the doorway of the adjoining bathroom. âWhy, you want to go again?â Hyacinth joked, instead he outstretched his arms and gestured for Jamie to join him, âCome on, come here.âÂ
-
âI did imply I was insatiable.â His shoulders raise in a shrug, itâs a joke and yet, with those thighs not yet hidden by the sheets, he considers it for a brief moment. Jamie steps away from the doorway and makes his way to the bed only to crawl up the Spartanâs body and promptly press his lips to his. Itâs softer than anything thatâd transpired earlier, a thank you, maybe even a bit of an apology, but mostly, itâs because he wants to. Pulling away, he allows himself a second to just look at Hyacinth and thereâs this kind of deep affection that blooms in his chest at the mere sight of him that heâs starting to associate with both partners. A soft smile graces his lips as he settles at Hyacinthâs side, cheek pressed to a sculpted pectoral. âI like jusâ this though.â The feeling of something solid beside him, the sound of a heartbeat, the faint breeze outside. âI din mean tae make that a usual thing. But if itâs something yer intae, I din have tae feed each time.âÂ
mylesxdelianâ: -
âYer sure yer alright?â The entire trip from the greenhouse to the shower, heâd been irrationally skeptical. Now, with a towel around his waist as he stands in the doorway from the bathroom to the master bedroom, Jamie still thinks heâs waiting for Hyacinth to change his mind on the whole encounter. He looks to the Spartan already lounging on the bed and he knows he didnât take all that much, even for the heat of the moment, heâd been careful, but he wants to be sure. He doesnât think heâs fed from an actual immortal before, not like this anyways. Heâd witnessed firsthand how quick Hyacinth healed up, he seems to be fine in that capacity. Thereâs more to it though and it keeps him from joining the other immediately. The last thing he wanted was for Hyacinth to regret it once lust was out of the way. It was probably irrational, the idea that either partner would turn him away for what he was at this point, but it was one of the few things that was always going to sit at the back of his mind.
@waeteethâ
There was so much blood. It was more than Patroclus remembered, at least, for a human body. This one was a vampire, though, its head severed from its shoulders and bleeding in between the cobbled stones of the street. Another stood in front of Patroclus, his blade reddened with the crimson stain of the dead vampire. Killing was not in his nature, but heâd done it before. Heâd found the reason, and the way that it was supposed to be. This time, however, his hands were forced. âYou donât deserve humanity,â he said simply, the vampire in front of him poised to attack once more. It was then that Patroclus felt Jamieâs presence, and heâd nearly lost track of the time. Heâd asked Jamie to come, for other reasons, when the vampires had cornered him instead. His gaze locked with Jamieâs as he swung his blade, cleaving the last vampireâs head from his shoulders.Â
He hears it before he sees anything. Panic is becoming something heâs accustomed to and it has him moving too fast down the side street only to pause at the mouth of the alley. Any fighting was done already, he thinks surprise is what keeps him planted. Itâs not like he doesnât know that Patroclus is capable, heâd reminded himself time and time again that while he was calmer than Hyacinth sure, he was more than capable of holding his own. Itâs actually sort of...Itâs not really the time to consider it attractive. Thereâs a lot of blood, but none of it is Patroclusâs, nothing smells like him. The worry wins out over the surprise and he finds himself wincing internally as he passes a couple of vampire bodies. âYe alright?â Jamieâs voice is quiet, eyes flickering from blade to bright blues, to a headless body to the right of his feet. He keeps a safe distance, gives his partner space to process despite wanting to run to him immediately. Partner or not, he doubts the other wants another vampire rushing him. âThey come after ye?â
mylesxdelianâ:
This was unchartered territory for him, but if the response between his legs was any indication for Jamie, the Spartan enjoyed it. He liked seeing the vampire in this light, this was the state that Jamie wished to remain in - a creature of the night. Hyacinth had never found it particularly attractive before, and if someone had asked him a year ago if heâd willingly let a vampire feed on him he would have laughed in their face, or worse. Now Hyacinth freely offered himself to Jamie, though it was laced with his own dark intent.Â
âA debt?â The sentiment is amusing, however inaccurate. He isnât offering himself to the other because he expect some sort of repayment, itâs exciting, and different and maybe even a little bit kinky. His hands upon Jamieâs body are firm, confident. They had a lot of years together, so long as the vampire did not do anything foolish or reckless. Why not push the limits of what they knew or were comfortable with? âThere is no ownership between us.â Hyacinth offered, âEverything I am, is yours.â He furthered, fingers moved to touch lightly at Jamieâs still blood-stained lips, he pulled lightly at the bottom one as he gripped the manâs chin affectionately. âI want to⊠Sate you. In every sense.â
-
Said out loud, it sounds terrible and Jamie has to actually stop himself from explaining because itâs not healthy to view affection as a transaction. He has to remind himself that this is still kind of new and while heâs gotten considerably comfortable, thereâs still some unlearning to be done. Neither partner does anything for him because they expect something in return, they do it because they care for him, he gets that and yet...Thereâs some things he certainly wants to reciprocate at all times. Which is why the same moment his tongue meets the pad of Hyacinthâs thumb, heâs taking the hand out of his hair and sliding it between them. âThatâs gonnae be quite a feat.â

âJamie!â she called out his name, smile wide on her face. âI havenât seen you in so long! How⊠How are you?âÂ
Heâd seen her, she was hard to miss, as heâd headed into the library. Ava had a spot, Jamie thinks heâd seen her every time heâd gone to see Gabriel, he shouldnât have been surprised she caught him on the way out from seeing him. The question she poses almost makes him grimace, but turning to face her, he finds himself giving her a once over. Fine, she looks fine, he needs to stop worrying. âBeen better but Iâm dealing.â His shoulders raise in a shrug and then heâs struck with a bit of guilt because itâs not like it wasnât common knowledge now, about her mother, the things the Vidalis family was going through. âHow are things at home?â
gabrielxnikephorosâ:
Gabriel rose an eyebrow, though he wasnât sure if being old helped. âMaybe, depending on their region. This is Mycenaean. Itâs a script. Meaning, someone would have to be from Crete, orâŠancient Crete, or at least the coast of Greece at the time. Maybe they spoke it, if youâre lucky. Furies might be able to read it, or one of those rifts that are running around, they might know if theyâre from there. But â attacking Hektor means attacking Persephone. Are you sure youâre willing to do that?â
-
âI din think I have much of a fucking choice at this point.â Gabriel had said he couldnât be involved so he wouldnât give him the whole story. He was sure the incubus had enough to worry about and he shoots an apologetic look in his direction as he set the book down on one of the few tables and begins flicking through the pages. Gabriel isnât wrong, the text is...Itâs definitely Greek of some sort, but he has not a damn clue what any of it could mean. Thankfully he has not one, but two of âthose riftsâ at home who hopefully have an idea. Jamie flips a couple more pages and takes his phone out, pulls out his camera app and takes a couple of pictures. Names can be made out a bit though, he thinks at least. âIâm nae tae be directly involved. Tae easy for the bastart tae compel me, but this is something.â To keep him from feeling useless at least. âI willnae get ye intae it. Could make ye forget all this even, if ye want.âÂ
âIt was easier when it was the tae of us.â Thereâs no malice behind it as he leans against the pier railing. It was nice to watch the ships come in, he couldnât ever stand being on one, but he liked how they looked in the distance. Jamie looks from the sails to Tobias to his left and he canât help but scrutinize everything about him for just a moment. Hyacinth probably had a point, he was a bit of a mother hen at this point. He was alright though, they all were as far as he knew. It still felt like a calm before the storm, but heâd take any moment of peace at the moment. âBit strange, having other people around.â He offers a brief but genuine smile before heâs looking back out at the water. Theyâd earned a bit of happiness by now, he figured. âHow are the three of ye holding up?â @tobiaspriceâ
mylesxdelianâ:
âBut I want you to.â Hyacinth defended, he punctuated this remark with a press of his lips against the otherâs chest. The exchange was more erotic than Hyacinth would admit outloud but if the hard press against Jamieâs backside was going to be any indication than it should have been obvious that Hyacinth was into it. The Spartan had always been rough around the edges, but he liked it that way, sometimes a kiss was just a kiss, but other times it felt better when it hurt just a little bit. In truth he liked seeing Jamie like this, less reserved and uninhibited, the vampire maybe even now was afraid of hurting him - afraid of losing control but Hyacinth hadnât fallen in love with one or two facets of the man around his waist. He loved the dark parts and the rusted pieces just as much as the ones the vampire brought out into the light of day.Â
Strong arms lift the other as Hyacinth gets up off the floor, his lips takes his turn on Jamieâs neck as he held firm but set the vampire down on his work station. He moved to cup the otherâs face, as he drew his eyes to level with the crystalline blues of Jamieâs eyes. His free hand, rough and calloused slid between the vampireâs thighs as Hyacinth posed his question, âWhat are you afraid of?â The Spartan asked, his breath low and his words dark. There was an absence of any light in his eyes, only desire, deep and wanting. âYou wonât hurt me.â
-
Itâs never not going to amuse him just a little how heâs so quick to react to the otherâs touch at this point. Reflexes that would normally disarm are instead completely inviting, his ankles practically lock around Hyacinthâs waist immediately. He lets the other move him, shifts a little when heâs placed on the workbench to get comfortable, but heâs not given much time to. The Spartanâs attention is relentless and he finds himself sucking in a breath through his teeth. Whether it has to do with the lips at his neck or the hand between his thighs that heâs not shy about rocking into, he doesnât know. âYe do enough fer me.â Jamie practically mumbles, head tipped back and eyes closed. At least until Hyacinthâs hand is on his face and he thinks he actually bluescreens a little seeing the hunger in those dark eyes.
The answer was hard to put into words without all of the attention, but with it, he struggles to sort through his thoughts. His hands move from broad shoulders to slide into the back of the other manâs hair, the other cupping the side of his neck. âItâs nae a debt I could ever ever repay fae ye.â Each word brings about a flash of the fangs that are still present. Out loud, he realizes itâs not the best way to phrase things and he finds his eyes averting to the wall behind Hyacinth.
mylesxdelianâ:
The release of tension is immediate, like the Spartanâs body gasps, but that release is followed instantly by a replenishment. The blood that Hyacinth lost pumps through his heart again, touched by the divine hands of Apollo himself the most jaded regions of Hyacinthâs mind wondered if the God could see him even now. The gift heâd been given now a willfully given meal to a vampire lover whose very nature was sinful, his hard grip stiffened on Jamieâs waist as he pulled the man closer against him. More, Hyacinth thought as much as you need. The small spark of pain is nothing, irrelevant when compared to the warmth that bloomed in his belly, to the flutter in the former princeâs chest.Â
Blood dribbled from the wound and Jamie was quick to lap it up, Hyacinthâs fingers still entwined with the otherâs as his hand moved from the vampireâs waist to the back of his head. Roughly the Spartan pulled Jamieâs head back so Hyacinth could see first hand his blood on the otherâs lips, the desire and hunger in a monsterâs eyes - pointed teeth and sharp features. âBeautiful.â The Spartan remarked easily, his lips pressed roughly against the otherâs and he could taste himself on the otherâs tongue, but too soon the wound at his neck had already closed - a trail of light preceding the event. âDo it again. Take more.â Hyacinth breathed against Jamieâs lips, âTake as much as you need.â
-
He expects some of it. The physical reaction isnât anything new and yet itâs Hyacinth, itâs not just anyone beneath him. It blurs his lines a little and even more so when the Spartan kisses him. He doesnât think either partner is afraid of a little blood, but itâs a little shocking to see one of them seem a little enticed by it. He shouldnât be into that, and yet he meets the kiss like he does any kiss Hyacinth gives him, with great vigor. Jamie canât blush, he hasnât been able to for over two centuries, and yet the idea of him being considered beautiful in such a state...If the compliment would have been paid by anyone else, he might have responded with something cheeky, but instead he ducks his head to mouth along the otherâs jawline, tipping his head up a little in the process.Â
âI din have tae take any jusâ tae bite ye know, if thatâs what it is.â He mumbles just below Hyacinthâs ear, right over the spot thatâd just healed. The biting itself didnât bother him so much, but heâs hesitant to actually feed more. He definitely could, itâs a bit more distracting now, the ache at the back of his throat. Itâs not something he wants to get into the habit of by any means. Hyacinthâs doing enough for him, feeding from him is pushing it.
rimonakyunâ:
Even with all her ladylike manners, it was difficult for Rimona not to open her mouth agape at hearing he had had a run in with a fury. But she continued to listen, never daring to interrupt an individual she cared about so deeply, and tried to mentally save all her questions until the end. Itâs not like he could have just texted her about this one and Rimona quickly adorned an empathetic expression, rather than one fixated in distress. He was still in front of her, still alive in some sense of the word, and that was worth noting. âThatâs fantastic news, butââ she tried to keep eyebrows from furrowing, though that seemed an impossible feat, âJamie, a fury?â Her onyx irises bore into his stormy ones and the familiarity of loss floods her insides.
That was only the tip of the iceberg and she was giving him the look and Jamie managed a weak smile up at her from his place on the floor. âIâm fine. Bigger problems than that, Iâm afraid.â And he was afraid and she was one of the few people heâd admit such a thing to. Shifting a bit to be able to sit up straight, his elbows on his knees, his fingers steepled together, he looks up at one of the people he doesnât ever want to worry, fully knowing sheâs going to worry. âRi, Iâm essentially on house arrest. Anâ I think if I tell ye why, ye might actually put me in the ground again yerself.â Heâs trying to add humor to it, but the grin he gives her is forced.
emmaxdarlingâ:
âI did pass the bathhouse, Iâve seen all the latest trends.â Naturally she had not gone inside, it was enough to see the relaxed faces of the men who left the building to know it wasnât quite the spa that Emma had in mind. Her and Harlow had opted to go elsewhere, well, Emma had dragged the other elsewhere. While going on a rage bender for old timeâs sake had some appeal, violence wasnât gratifying to her anymore, it was⊠symbolic of her past life. Someone she didnât know anymore. âI think Iâll pass, I hope youâll settle for a nice bottle of wine instead. Something imported, for some reason the local wines here are absolutely terrible.â She made a face at the recent memory of sharing a glass that Giovanni had offered her. âJamie, thereâs something I meant to ask you. Something that Tobias mentioned, you havenât been⊠You didnât tell him there was a cure, did you?â
-
He wonders if maybe heâs struck a bit of a nerve, or is at least dancing on a painful memory. Sheâd seen him at his worst, he thinks, his most emotionally vulnerable. There hadnât really been much of a guard up then, everything had been so raw and new and he doesnât think sheâs particularly afraid of much, but he does think she is one of the few people he has scared away. Jamie opens his mouth to apologize for maybe making her uneasy only to close it upon hearing about one of the sorest subjects in his life. His lips actually purse as he gives a nod of his head, his hands in the pockets of his denim jacket. âAye, there is.â Though he does wonder where sheâs going with it, if she is interested in such a thing for herself or sheâs just shocked such a thing exists. âIâve used it. Are ye interested in it?â
calxlaskarisâ:
âThen I will wait,â Cal says simply, leaning back against the wall of the house. Though he figures to simply shove himself inside would be no particularly difficult battle, he understands the fact that Hyacinth would likely be displeased were his companion to come to harm by Calâs hand. The Spartan had spoken with immense fondness for this man, and though he himself sees little appeal from first glance, the idea of such an attachment is understood. âHe is an old friend, and I wish to speak with him.â And little desire to speak of it with the other vampire, who he knows so little about. Calâs lack of trust has kept him alive for a long time, where others had died, and he does not give it so quickly simply because of well spoken words from another. âIt is not a matter that concerns you.â
-
Hyacinth has an old friend that is a vampire and the mere idea nearly has him raising a brow. Then again, itâd explain a few things early on, the Spartanâs seeming indifference towards what he was. Jamie has enough going on in his personal life to allow something to just slide for the sake of what is left of his mental health and yet, heâs never not been at least a wee bit jealous. âYeâd be surprised.â Itâs pure sarcasm, but itâs mild at least. Heâs not particularly known to be polite to potential romantic threats, he was older now, but he had the capacity to terrorize the man before him just because. âAs I said, heâs nae home. Ye can either come in anâ wait or stand here ootside, whatever suits ye.â He sounds exasperated, he has questions, he has apprehensions, but he is hellbent on not causing any more trouble as he steps back from the door. âNae like I have tae invite ye in.â
gabrielxnikephorosâ:
Sighing, Gabriel shouldâve known Jamie would ask incessant questions before letting him go. The incubus mumbled something to himself about how he was going to give himself a raise before he closed the door behind the two of them. Picking up another book, he pushed it towards Jamie, âThis is about Linear A. I would bet that the answer youâre looking for is here. Now, hereâs the fuckinâ catch, it isnât deciphered. Maybe if you found a fury, they could figure it out for you, but itâs not a spoken language, itâs more of aâŠscript. Iâm not sure if itâll give you words specifically about Hektor, but, Persephone is mentioned on the Linear B tablets.â
-
It wasnât deciphered. Jamie actually blinks and looks from Gabriel to the ceiling and the sigh he lets out is potentially what is left of his soul leaving his body. A fury could help and he could extend an olive branch to Sofia for both of his partnerâs sake and yet he is trying to keep as lowkey as possible. âAnyone else? Kind of lacking in the fury department. If itâs jusâ really old, I have someone for that.â If not either significant other, they could point him to someone else. It was the kind of behind the scenes work that could do some good. Opening the book that was thrust into his hands, heâs blinking again at the page and then up at Gabriel and the smile he offers is nothing short of grim. âCan never get enough of hearing aboot her, I suppose.â
