I've had a few folks ask me where I got my miniature set of watercolor pencils, but I made it myself and you can too! All you need are. . 1. An @altoids_peppermints tin 2. Watercolor pencils (about 24) 3. A cutting tool 4. Paper towels 5. Small magnet 6. Tissue (optional) 7. Tape (optional) Start by marking your pencils just a tiny bit over an inch from the tip of the lead. Score the pencil all the way around at the mark. Place the scored line against a hard corner and snap it in half. (Optional) sand/file the splinters and rough end. Repeat for each pencil. Take a clean Altoids tin and place folded tissue paper on the bottom. This prevents them from rattling around too much every time you move if they're in your pocket/bag. Take a paper towel and fold/cut it to fit the lid of the tin. Place the magnet over the paper towel to secure it. Put your tiny pencils in and you're set! For added security I set a small strip of duct tape along the lip of the tin to ensure that it seals tightly. I hope some of y'all find this useful! I always carry it around with my @moleskine pocket watercolor sketchbook and my @pentel_official aquash waterbrush. I've found that #general's Kimberly watercolor pencils seem to work best and the lead doesn't break very easily. I usually use the pencils more like a miniature pallete.
