5 Places to Seek Adventure
5 Places to Seek Adventure
I’ve been incredibly fortunate throughout my life to have had the privilege to experience many things in the world, perhaps more so than some 23 year olds (and less so than others). As a child, my parents took me on multiple ‘holidays’ a year, from little weekends away, to week long holidays over the summer. This was in a time before parents could be fined before removing their children from…

I’ve written poetry from a young age. It’s not always been fantastic, to say the least. I started when I was approximately thirteen, entering my ever embarassing emo phase, so a lot of it was, typically, about wolves, and sadness, and the never ending call of the void. Yeah, I won’t be sharing any of that. But I thought you might be interested in seeing some of the slightly more refined examples,…

Day in the Life
Day in the Life
I’ve now been a university student for six years. Six whole years. I’ve been a student nurse, however, for just a year and a half. It feels like I’ve been so for so much longer though. Not only do I go to university though; I also work as a healthcare assistant on the bank, a phrase which here means that I work at all of the wards in my trust on a flexible bases, which can vary from dementia…

I’ve returned to blogging! I’ve been away from it for over a year, and have decided it’s time to give it another go. I have four new posts up; why I’ve returned; all about my parents’ wedding anniversary and my stepdad’s cancer; my trip to London recently; and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health. It would mean so much to me if you could check it out and read!

Tonight, a feeling has struck. It’s one that, according to statistics, 1 in 4 people experience. It’s a feeling that we don’t often talk about, and it’s something that we tend to hide away, obscured from the view of all but a select few, chosen in our most difficult moments. It’s a feeling of depression. Of anxiety. Of numbness, and a lack of motivation that comes with experiencing mental ill…

London Calling
Earlier this week, my partner Reece and I journeyed to London for a night away. We’d been planning it since October, when I purchased tickets to see the always fantastic Lindsey Stirling, an eletro-violinist, for Reece’s anniversary gift. Obviously, I was also to benefit, since there was no chance he was going to be taking anybody other than me to see my favourite pixie-esque violinist. I’d been…

Family Matters
Yesterday was my parents’ fourth wedding anniversary. That may not seem like a lot to most people, but they’ve actually been together for twenty three years in total. They’ve both been married previously, and they’d both said they’d never do it again, but then something changed all of that. In 2012, my mum’s partner, Mark, was diagnosed with bowel cancer. It brought our worlds crashing down. When…

A Return to Blogging...
A Return to Blogging…
I started this blog back in 2015 as something to do when I was “bored”, or needing a “challenge”, and if I’m being perfectly honest with you, I think that was the wrong way to go about it. As you can see, I went off to university, got caught up in life, and hey ho, look what got forgotten about whilst still in its infancy. I’m sorry, blog. You must have felt so abandoned, craving for posts to…

All these shots are between thirty and fifty second exposures. The time varies depending on the moonlight and starlight. I tend to shoot each exposure for under 45 seconds so the stars don’t trail. It’s really mind boggling to think about how long these mountains have been around. I try to make the exposures connect together as if they’re forming a single mountain or some sort of mountainous being.
