Toshinori x Reader Fluff! The reader is the new assistant teacher in Class 1-A to aid Toshinori. The reader has a glowing quirk, which makes them a human glow stick. Depending on her emotions, her glow changes color. Yellow-Happy, Purple-Scared, Blue-Sad, Green-Disgusted, Black-Angry, Pink-Love, Red-Embarrassed, and depending on how powerful those feelings are the light can also form different shapes around her(like a dark cloud when she’s angry, hearts when she feels deep affection etc.)
So sorry I’ve been inactive these past couple of months! I’ve been busy with school, homework, work - the usual things. Classes are cancelled this week because of the air and the smoke, so hopefully I can work on requests?
I hope everyone is fine and that everyone is safe, especially those who have been affected by the fires. There’s not much I can say that could possibly make things better for you, but just know that things WILL get better and that there are so many people who care about you and your safety.
It had taken years for you to master controlling your emotions. Your teenage years were a horror with all your raging hormones and developing body, but now, as an adult, you were completely confident in concealing your emotions just enough so that your Quirk wouldn’t give you away.
All that training you had out yourself through went out the door when you met All Might on your first day as a teacher at U.A.. You thought that you had gotten over your little crush from high school and could treat him as a coworker, but the moment he took your hand in his and placed a kiss to you knuckles, your control was gone. You glowed an embarrassingly bright red as he spoke to you, tinges of yellow here and there.
“It’s nice to see you again, _______! I look forward to working together with you! And if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask for me!” He watched with slight amusement as you stammered out a thank you, the light you emitted gradually fading away as you spoke, and he smiled to himself, thinking that working with you would be fun. Since then, it had become a daily occurrence for him to tease you, either in front of your students or in the teachers’ lounge, and he never got tired of your reactions. He especially loved it when you glowed different colors one after another in the span of a few seconds as your emotions ran through you, as you were doing now.
The students had joked about you and All Might having secret affairs after noticing how much time the two of you spent together, and, while you were embarrassed at their observations, you were also slightly happy at the idea. Hence, you were switching between glowing red and yellow as your emotions alternated, and the class took this chance to tease you some more.
“_______-sensei, do you like All Might?”
“What did he look like when he was younger?”“Maybe he likes you, too!”
You’re about to tell the class to calm down when the door opens. Everyone grows quiet and turns their heads, finding All Might in all his glory standing at the entrance, and they all quickly turn their attention back to you. Red, pink, yellow… and purple.
They fall silent at the new color, unsure of what to do. You meet the hero’s blue eyes, concern lightly lacing his features as when he notices the shade of purple that is now fading away. The colors that were once vibrant and alive around you were gone, and you take a shaky breath and smile at your coworker.
“Did you need something, Toshi— All Might?”
He almost flinches at how calm you sound, but he pushes past the shock and clears his throat. “Just checking in on things. Aizawa-kun was complaining about the noise.”
The Pro-Hero glances between you and your students, the pieces coming together slowly as he starts to understand the situation. He knew the class liked to get a rise out of you because of your Quirk - it had become a sort of game for both you and the class - but he didn’t realize it would have this effect on you.
“The noise?” You glow bright red at the realization and bow your head in in shame. “I-I’m so sorry! I didn’t realize we were so loud! I’ll go apologize to him right now!” You rush out of the room, somewhat relieved to get away from the classroom, without sparing All Might a second look, missing the way his expression turns dark when he turns his attention to the class.
Once you’re far enough from the classroom, you slow to a walk and place your hands on your cheeks, feeling just how warm they are. How could you let things get so out of hand? All because of your little crush on your former classmate! You shake your head to clear it, a little huff sounding from your throat as you steady your emotions again. When you reach Aizawa’s classroom, you peek inside and find it empty.
“That’s weird,” you mumble to yourself before walking back to your own class. As you reach for the door, you realize that it’s Aizawa’s break time, and you pause for a moment. Why would All Might say that then, you ask yourself. When you enter the classroom, you find all your students looking slightly terrified, their eyes wide in fear, and you follow their gazes to the man in front of you. “All Might?”
At the sound of your voice, he straightens up and turns to you, his lips forming that familiar smile. “_______, you’re back!”
You can feel the tension behind his smile and are about to ask what happened when the bell rings, signaling the end of class. You pull All Might to the side as your students all but run out of the room, none of them saying their usual goodbyes to you as they dash out the door. You don’t mind though, since the man in front of you was obviously hiding something, and you wanted to know what it was and why he was hiding it.
You tilt your head to the side and raise an eyebrow at the Pro-Hero in front of you. “Well? Are you gonna tell me what happened while I was gone?”
“Nothing happened, _______. I just lectured them about the dangers of playing with others’ emotions, especially those of Pro-Heroes,” he states lightly, as if he were talking about the weather. He places a hand on your shoulder reassuringly when you point a glare at him, still unconvinced.
“Then why did my students look like they had just faced the wrath of All Might?”
He fails to keep his smile and retracts his hand from your shoulder before clearing his throat.
“All Might, did you really - “
“Toshinori,” he interjects, mumbling an apology when you raise an eyebrow.
“Toshinori, why did you do something like that? They didn’t mean any harm, and you know that,” you sigh, running a hand through your hair. You walk over to your teacher’s desk and sit down, and he follows you silently. “Do you have an excuse, Mister Number 1 Hero?”
He recalls the expression you wore when he entered the room and the tinges of purple lining your figure, the color he recognized represented fear, and he remembers how angry he felt because of it.
“That reminds me,” you start, leaning back in your chair. “Aizawa wasn’t even in his room earlier. Why did you say he was complaining about my class…?”
Your question trails off when you notice him coming closer, the look in his eyes telling you there’s so much he wants to say. He reaches forward and gently tilts your chin up with his thumb and forefinger, the action sending electricity running through your veins as your body glows bright red and yellow. Normally, he would chuckle and tease you about your Quirk, but he evidently had another purpose for his gesture.
“I wanted an excuse to see you, even if it was a lie,” he states matter-of-factly, his eyes staring at where his thumb brushed your lips. “But when I saw what was happening, I couldn’t contain how angry I was.”
The blatant implication behind his words sends your mind running in a different directions, your Quirk mirroring your emotions as you felt them, and you nearly forget to breathe with how overwhelmed you are at the turn of events. You let out a long breath and hold onto the arm of your chair for some sort of support, the hero in front of you kneeling down to be eye-level with you.
“_______, are you okay?” He asks, his voice full of concern.
“I think so, but…” You peek up at him quickly before averting your eyes. “You being this close doesn’t really help.”
He chuckles lightly before saying, “I knew you had a crush on me, but I didn’t know it was this serious.”
You look up at him, eyes wide with horror. “You knew?”
“It wasn’t too hard to figure out, with your Quirk and all. Especially since in high school you - “
You let out a short yell and cover his mouth with your hands to prevent him from saying more, ignoring how much closer you are to him now. “High school was an embarrassing time for everyone, okay?!”
As you both remember said times, you fall into a fit of laughter at the memories. Memories of Yamada nearly breaking everyone’s eardrums every day, memories of Aizawa being caught sleeping in the weirdest places, memories of picking hero names.
“Do you still like me?” He asks tentatively, his quiet tone of voice unfamiliar to your ears, his hands curling around either of your wrists to place your hands on his cheeks. You nod once and smile at him.
“I haven’t stopped liking you since high school,” you admit thoughtlessly, confidence placing itself in your core.
He pauses for a moment before saying, “Even if I’m like this?”
And then he’s reverted back to his base form, the man most people would never recognize as their Number One Hero, All Might. The man who was simply a man. The man you fell in love with.
You lean forward and press your lips against his, earning a surprised grunt from the man before you. It’s not long before he’s kissing you back, your lips moving together almost naturally.
“Does that answer your question?” You say once you break away from the kiss. You find him blushing in front of you, and you stifle a laugh at the new sight.
“I don’t think I understood you very well,” he manages to say. “Do you mind showing me again?”
You smile at this and nod, your hands moving along his neck and tangling themselves in his hair as you pull him in for another kiss.
