hello! my name is s.k. and i made this blog to share some of my favorite songs, lyrics, albums, and more. here’s a little bit more about me below.

-my favorite bands are aztec camera (blog name gives it away), the style council, sade, the smiths, prefab sprout, trashcan sinatras, and etc.

-i love to travel (i’ve been to 50 countries and 30 states so far)

-i play guitar, bass, piano, and the violin

sade, formed in 1982, was one of the greatest bands of the 80s in my opinion. their unique sound blended soul, pop, and many other genres together, generating many hits such as “smooth operator,” “no ordinary love,” and my personal favorite, “the sweetest taboo.” this song is deep in my heart because it was the first song i ever heard from sade, and it definitely left a lasting impact on me. its impeccable drum groove, slick vocals, and of course, amazing bass playing from paul denman, makes this song a great listen.

hi everyone! this is gonna be a pretty short post but i just wanted to talk about this beautiful song, one of my favorites. when i was first introduced to aztec camera about 2 years ago, i never knew of their later works, including this album, frestonia. although this album didn’t have as much success as their debut, it slowly grew to becoming my favorite album in their discography.

this was the first song that i listened to from frestonia and i was awestruck by the lushness and maturity of the sound. woven carefully together with the lyrical genius of roddy frame, “sun” really shows what aztec camera is capable of as a band. i hope you give this one a listen! thanks for listening <3
