“Okay, she had done a background check on me,” Bruce says. “She had it printed out.”
“No way,” you say.
“Yeah,” Bruce nods. “And she was asking me stuff line by line while we were having dinner.”
“That’s unbelievable,” you answer as everyone laughs in agreement.
Suddenly, Wanda walks into the kitchen holding a mug of tea, smiling as she walks over to stand next to you.
“What’s going on?” she asks.
“Oh, we’re doing worst first dates,” you answer with a smile.
“Oh my god, I win,” Wanda says, eyes widened.
“What?” you laugh.
“Okay,” Wanda starts, and you look over to her curiously. “It was a minor league hockey game, he brought his brother,” she pauses. “A when I went to the bathroom, the game ended. And they forgot about me.”
“Okay, that’s a joke,” Bruce says.
“No,” Wanda shakes her head. “They had to come back for me.”
“Wait, when was this?” you ask.
“Um..it was not that long ago,” Wanda gives a small laugh.
“Wait, no way it was Vision,” Natasha says, putting down her sandwich.
Wanda laughs awkwardly before looking over to you.
You smile, walking in front of her and starting to lead her out. “Want to go play Dwight’s mug basketball?”
Wanda nods with a relieved sigh, following you out eagerly.
You keep a happy expression on your face, because now you finally know why Wanda’s always refused to go to sports games with Vision.
“Shield Industries, this is Wanda,” Wanda answers the phone.
“Wanda, it’s Tony. I need you to go into my office and read some data for me please.”
“Okay,” Wanda says, picking up the book Tony’s requested her to read in his office. “You want me to read the jokes for you?”
“Yes, please,” Tony responds on speakerphone.
“Okay, um, a fisherman is walking down 5th Avenue leading an animal behind him–”
“No, no, nope!” Tony cuts Wanda off. “I already told that joke to Fury earlier at the dinner. Pick another one.”
“Okay. There’s a transcript between a Naval ship–”
“Oh, yeah! Bingo,” Tony says. “Great, thanks, Wanda!”
“Sure,” Wanda says awkwardly. “Do you need anything else?”
“No, I’m good. But would you be able to put all those joke books back where you found them?”
“Sure,” Wanda agrees, hanging up the phone with a sigh.
Opening up the drawer to return the books strewn across Tony’s desk, Wanda’s eye immediately catches a thick stack of paper. Picking it up, Wanda has to cover her mouth to stop from bursting out in laughter.
You’re mindlessly clicking your mouse when suddenly, a huge stack of stapled paper is thrown onto your desk.
Reading the title, your eyes widen as you look over to Wanda who leans against the table casually.
“Is this real?” you ask, near giddy.
“It’s a screenplay,” Wanda pauses. “Starring himself.”
“Agent Iron Man,” you read out.
“Of the FBI,” Wanda finishes.
“How long is this?” you laugh, flipping through the pages. “Oh my god, Wanda. Good work.”
Wanda laughs.
“Oh, no way,” you say, finding the last few pages and holding them up. “Drawings.”
“What is that?” Wanda asks.
“Oh, those are drawings,” you respond easily. “In case the writing didn’t really put a picture in your head.”
Wanda snickers, biting her lip to keep from laughing too hard.
“And there he is, in the flesh,” you say, pointing to the drawing. “Agent Iron Man. Now we know what he looks like.”
“So, do we all have our copy of Armored Adventures, by Tony Stark?” you ask the office staff gathered around the conference room table.
Everyone makes a sound of agreement.
“Great, so, let’s get started. I’m gonna be reading the action descriptions,” you say. “And Steve, I would like you to play Captain America, the first Avenger.”
“Oh, cool that’s the name of the character?” Steve asks.
Suddenly, Sam barges into the room, and angered expression on his face. “Okay, you guys should not be doing this,” he states firmly.
“Why not, Sam?” you ask. “This is a movie. This is for all of America to enjoy.”
“You took something that does not belong to you,” he responds.
“Sam.”
“You brought it in here, you made copies–”
“Sam, do you want to play the lead role of Agent Iron Man?” you ask, giving him a questioning look.
Sam pauses.
“Okay, sure.”
“Inside the FBI, Agent Iron Man sits with his feet up at the desk,” you read. “Captain America enters.”
“Tony, you have some messages,” Steve reads.
“Not now!” Sam reads emphatically.
“They’re important,” Steve says.
“Fine, what are they?” Sam asks.
A few moments pass, when suddenly, a knock on the door is heard.
“Vision,” Wanda says, making you turn around suddenly, noticing the man.
Wanda runs up, greeting him with a kiss. “Hey, um, I have to work late,” she says.
Vision gives her an incredulous look, hearing the absurd scene between Spider-Man and Agent Iron Man currently being read in the conference room. “You’re joking, right?”
Wanda shakes her head.
“Agent Iron Man takes out a nine millimeter gun and shoots the cake to bits,” you read.
Sam imitates the shooting of the cake.
“Ha ha ha, Agent Iron Man, you’re so funny,” Peter says.
“A man sitting several seats down who has clown makeup on, turns to Agent Iron Man,” you turn to Bruce. “Bruce, want to play the Joker?”
“Sure,” Bruce nods, clearing his throat. “Agent Iron Man, perhaps you would be more comfortable in my clown car?”
“Yes, perhaps I would, Joker,” Sam says. “Spider-Man, get my luggage.”
“Sorry, I forgot it,” Peter reads.
“God, Spider-Man, you’re a terrible assistant!” Sam reads. “I can’t believe I hired you, Sem.” Sam pauses. “Wait, who’s Sem?”
You turn to Wanda with an amused smile, who matches your expression.
“I don’t think the search and replace works on typos,” Wanda says to you through a burgeoning smile.
“So, Spider-Man is the terrible assistant ‘causing the downfall of the United States?” you ask, holding back your laughter.
“Also known as Sam Wilson,” Wanda chuckles.
You and Wanda look over to Sam, who before your eyes, realizes what Tony has done, making the man throw the script onto the table in anger.
“Okay, you know what, this is stupid. I’m done,” he says, abruptly sitting up from his chair and leaving the conference room.
“Sam, some of us want to keep reading,” you tell him.
Sam turns to you. “Uh, you don’t speak for everyone, Y/N,” he responds, crossing his arms, before turning to the rest of the office. “Okay, announcement. My uncle bought me some fireworks. And anyone who wants to see a real show come outside with me right now.”
“That’s actually a pretty good idea,” you nod, starting to sit up from your chair. “We’ll all take a brief intermission.” You turn to Wanda. “Hey, are you hungry?”
“Yeah,” Wanda says, grateful you’ve asked.
“Yeah?” you ask. “Okay, come with me.”
While you may have had plans to meet a friend tonight, which you’ve now had to cancel, spending your evening preparing grilled cheese sandwiches for you and Wanda in the office kitchen isn’t something you’re upset at whatsoever. In fact, you would say it’s pretty great, and you’re not really a complainer either.
“Hi,” Wanda says, greeting you as you make your way up the ladder to the roof of the building, holding a box of accessories for the two of you as you watch the fireworks together.
“Hey,” you laugh, setting the box down before making your way to sit in the chair next to hers. “What’s that for?” you ask, pointing to the candle she’s attempting to light.
“For the bugs,” she answers easily.
“Nice,” you nod, before turning to grab the sandwiches you’ve prepared. “That’s great, because bugs, tend to love my famous grilled cheese sandwiches.”
“Them and me both,” Wanda laughs, grabbing the plate you’ve made for her. Then, after a moment, she speaks, “I can’t remember the last time someone made me diner.”
You pause, before grabbing your sandwich from the bag as well.
“Oh, look,” Wanda points to the fireworks Sam’s beginning to light.
“Wow,” you say, finally enjoying something Sam has created in the 7 years you’ve known him.
“They’re really nice,” Wanda states, before resting her head on your shoulder as the two of you spend the evening watching the sparkling lights together.
“They really are,” you say quietly.
“So, I guess I’ll see you in,” Wanda pauses to check her phone. “10 hours,” she grins.
“Mhm,” you nod, following her out the building.
“What are you gonna do with your time off?” she jokes.
“Travel,” you answer easily with a nod. “I’ve been looking forward to it.” You smile. “I’m gonna really find myself, you know?” you finish, fishing your phone out of your pocket and putting in one of your earbuds.
Wanda looks over to you curiously. “You have new music?” she asks.
You look down to your phone. “Oh, yeah! Want to listen?” You offer her the other earbud.
Wanda nods, smiling as you hand her the earbud she immediately places in her ear, the two of you standing within inches of each other as you share your song.
“Wanda,” you run up to her desk excitedly the second you walk in the next day.
“Yeah?” Wanda laughs.
“I think Tony might’ve gotten together with someone from corporate last night,” you say, making Wanda gasp. “He didn’t come back for his car.”
“Oh, my god, that makes so much sense! That’s why Tony had me read out his stupid jokes over the phone,” she says in realization.
“Well, good for him. I don’t think he’s had a first date, in like ever,” you laugh, before looking over to her. “You know, some might say we even had our first date last night,” you smile.
“Oh really?” Wanda asks. “Why might some say that?”
“Uh, ‘cause there was dinner. By candlelight,” you answer.
“Mhm,” Wanda nods.
“Dinner and a show, if you include Tony’s movie,” you continue. “There was a bit of dancing, and fireworks. So, pretty good date.”
“We didn’t dance,” Wanda says, chuckling.
“You’re right,” you say, suddenly feeling very awkward as you put your hands in your pockets. “But um, it was more like, swaying.”
“Right,” Wanda says. “Pretty good first date with you.”
You perk up. “Thanks.”
“Mhm,” Wanda nods. “Now, I have some faxes to get out, okay?” she says, standing up from her chair, giving you a kiss on the cheek before heading to the fax machine.
You smile, watching her leave, forgetting for a moment that it truly isn’t a date if the girl goes home to her fiancé at the end of the day.

i was thinking about wanda being with reader for some years, dating. and so they decide to take a trip to sokovia together, so reader could know where wanda grew up in. at first wanda was a bit self conscious about it, because it ain’t a very pretty country. but reader was just very sweet about it. and since it’s in europe it’s very very cold. wanda is so used to it it’s scary. she also is a natural vodka drinker, and doesn’t ever get drunk. sometimes just tipsy. she insists on showing reader every hidden spot and corner..,, and maybe steal some make out sessions. wanda realizes she wants to marry her in that trip.

summary: in which wanda makes sure she wants you to be her wife (though she's known the answer all along)

You and Wanda Maximoff have been dating for 3 years, and best friends for 5.
Wanda had joined the Avengers shortly after you, wide-eyed, fearful, and anxious having still been riding off the death of her beloved brother.
However, with your help, she found herself once more, and was excited to finally share her culture with the most important person of her life.
“Okay, so it can get pretty cold, most of the time,” Wanda tells you as you’re packing together in your bedroom in the compound. “But it might get pretty warm pretty fast so pack clothes for many different kinds of weather.”
“Got it, Maximoff,” you answer, heading to your closet and grabbing a couple sweaters.
Wanda was excited, but then again, you grew up in California, where there endless beaches, and no war. No run-down buildings, or crazy weather, only endless sunshine.
Maybe she shouldn’t be making you go.
“You know,” Wanda says quietly, and you turn around abruptly, noticing the expression on her face.
“What’s going on?” you ask, putting down your sweaters on the bed and heading over to her.
“Sokovia isn’t very glamorous,” she laughs awkwardly. “I’m not sure you’re gonna like it, and I really don’t want to force you to go somewhere you’re just gonna hate.”
“Maximoff,” you start, cupping her cheek, “You grew up there. It’s your home country, it’s what makes you, you. Of course, I’m gonna love it. Plus, I’m gonna learn so much more about your culture and just you in general, why wouldn’t I love it?”
“Are you sure?” Wanda asks, fiddling with the rings on her fingers.
“Yes, I’m sure.”
***
22 hours later, and you’ve finally landed in Wanda’s home country.
She was right, it’s not very glamorous, but it’s still absolutely beautiful to you.
This is where your favorite person in the world grew up in.
However, it was absolutely freezing the second you stepped out of the airport.
You begin to shiver, and look over to Wanda to see if she also feels the effect in her navy blue zip-up.
Wanda doesn’t seem fazed by it, and goes immediately to calling an Uber so you can get to your hotel.
“Wanda,” you ask, making her look up from her phone. “Are you cold?”
“Not really, no,” Wanda shrugs, but suddenly, her eyes widen seeing your shivering form. “Holy shit, detka, you’re freezing!” Wanda takes her sweater off, leaving her in a t-shirt and puts it around your shoulders.
Your eyes widen, and you try to take the sweater off, but Wanda stops you. “Wanda, now you’re gonna get cold.”
“I’m fine, detka,” she says. “I’m pretty used to the weather.”
“Scarily used to it,” you mutter.
“Right, I forgot the cold makes you grumpy.”
“Or I’ve been spending too much time locked up in my bedroom in a huge tower.”
***
“Wanda,” your voice has begun to slur after only your second shot of Vodka. Was the alcohol in Sokovia super-infused or something?
“Yes, detka,” Wanda laughs at how drowsy you look already.
“Jesus christ, Maximoff,” you look over to the array of 5 empty shot glasses of vodka in front of your girlfriend. “You can really hold your liquor.”
“Yes, and you can’t,” Wanda teases, laughing when you give her a pouting expression. She shrugs. “I’m mostly just used to the vodka from being here for so long.”
“Are you sure you aren’t Thor in another universe?” you say, now slurring heavily. “He’s a natural drinker.” You pause, looking around as if you’re searching for something, before making eye contact with your favorite green-eyed witch. “Plus, you’re so pretty you could easily be a goddess.”
Wanda blushes, looking away as her heart fills with adoration.
Wanda felt slightly guilty.
She had only brought you here because she wanted to be absolutely sure she wanted to marry you, having bought a ring around 5 months ago.
She didn’t know why she ever doubted you, but bringing you here, to her home country, was her test to make sure everything would be absolutely perfect if she were to be your wife for the rest of your life.
And you passed the test, with flying colors.
So far, you’ve been adoring every single Sokovian tradition, every Sokovian market, every ounce of this country that made Wanda who she is.
Wanda loves you.
And she was sure she wanted to marry you.
Not in a rowdy Sokovian bar with you so drunk you were blissfully unaware of everything that was going on, but soon, she was sure of it.
***
“Okay, come on,” Wanda was laughing as she was running, holding your hand and dragging you behind her.
“Maximoff, where the hell are we going,” you ask.
“This was my favorite garden growing up, it’s kinda hidden but it’s incredible! Come on,” Wanda continues to drag you towards an apartment around a block from where you learned she grew up, and as Wanda continues to drag you towards a small patch of grass near it, you gasp.
“Oh my god, it’s so pretty,” you say in awe.
“I know, right,” Wanda says, but she’s not admiring the garden anymore, she’s admiring you.
This is where she was gonna marry you.
On this beautiful, isolated, patch of grass with the sacred garden that got her through every ounce of fear she felt as a child.
***
3 months later, she was gonna do it.
She was gonna ask you to be her wife.
It was your 4-year anniversary, and she was gonna do it.
She was going to take you to your favorite restaurant, you would go on a small walk, and she was gonna take you to the Manhattan bridge, also your favorite.
***
“Maximoff, this feels excessive. Why are we just going to my favorite places? You’re half of this relationship,” you ask, as Wanda is bringing you to the Manhattan bridge. Don’t get you wrong, it is one of your top 3 favorite places in New York, number one being lying in bed with Wanda, but Wanda deserved at least some of her favorite things on your anniversary too.
“I don’t mind. My favorite thing in the world is being with you, and seeing you happy, and with this I get both,” Wanda answers easily. However, she doesn’t notice the adoring look you give her, too nervous with the ring in her jacket pocket. She really hopes she doesn’t chicken out.
You both slow as you walk towards the middle of the bridge, you automatically peering over the ledge to look at the water as you’ve done a million times.
And Wanda was betting on you doing that.
Slowly, she grabs the ring out of her pocket, a silver ring with a sapphire in the middle, and gets down on one knee.
She takes a deep breath.
Now only anticipating your turning around.
And slowly, you do.
And your eyes widen.
And a huge smile breaks out on your face.
And a huge smile breaks out on hers.
“Maximoff…”
“Will you marry me?” she cuts you off, eyes hopeful and smile big. “Ever since you came with me to Sokovia, I’ve been wanting to ask you constantly, but I didn’t know how. Truth be told, I kinda brought you on that trip to make sure this was the right choice, but I did know that it was from the beginning. It’s just, my culture has a lot of traditions that some people don’t understand, so I thought maybe if I immersed you in that I could make sure that you wouldn’t hate me someday if I did something but I really do love you and–”
You cut her off with a kiss.
“Of course I’ll marry you, you dork,” you say, still smiling as you cup her cheeks.
“Really?” Wanda asks, vulnerable, and suddenly wiping tears from her eyes that she didn’t know had begun falling.
“Absolutely,” you nod, giving her your finger for her to place the ring on.
“I can’t wait for you to be my wife,” Wanda laughs.

“You have to be cheating,” Sam says angrily, slumping on the couch and crossing his arms over his chest, slamming his controller down beside him.
“Nope,” you respond with a grin, pleased with yourself for beating Sam at yet another video game. “You just suck.”
Sam narrows his eyes, before rising up once again in determination. “One more round, only this time you’re handicapped by giving me a five second head start.”
“Sure,” you agree, already prepared to win for the 15th time in a row.
However, before you and Sam can start your video game, a tired Sokovian witch makes her way into the living room.
“Oh, hey, Wanda,” Sam says to your girlfriend who stands beside you, immediately wrapping her arms around your shoulder.
Wanda ignores him, and instead asks you, “Where were you?” against your neck.
“I promised Sam I would play Mario Kart with him last night,” you explain. “I bet him 50 bucks I could win 10 rounds in a row, and guess what, I’m at 70 now!”
“Not for long!” Sam interrupts.
“Want to stay and watch?” you ask Wanda, who hesitates for a split second, not really wanting the company of anyone else except for you, but ends up agreeing with a small nod.
You shift over on the couch to make room for her, and she immediately sits down and rests her head on your shoulder while you begin another round against Sam.
You end up winning about 150 bucks that day.

Wanda had been part of the team for about 7 months now, and you had quickly become her closest friend in the first 2.
Wanda, at her most vulnerable and lowest moments was still riding on a lot of the guilt from Ultron, add the fact that she had just lost her only family member and best friend, and the fact that she was already a bit prickly to begin with, it was safe to say that the majority of the team was too scared of what could happen to them if they even attempted to get close to her.
Wanda was okay with that at the time, she wanted the freedom to grieve without the added pressure of someone counting on her.
However, you were an exception.
You broke down the walls that had been built so far up after lost plagued Wanda’s life.
Every time she would protest, you stayed, no matter what.
She was a mess, and over time you became her safe haven.
You helped her grieve, helped her overcome her anger, her sadness, and you became her hope.
Now, Wanda could never get enough of you.
You were her best friend, and she was yours.
Wanda was eternally grateful for your existence.
“Y/N?” Wanda asked, one month into your friendship you laying on her shoulder watching the sitcom on the TV from her bed.
“Hm?” you responded.
“Thank you,” Wanda said, hoping you could understand every single hidden word she wanted to convey as best she could.
You smiled up at her, “Anytime.”
***
“Wow, Wanda, what’s got you so grumpy?” Tony asks, noticing Wanda’s very apparent frown.
“She hasn’t seen Y/N in two days,” Nat says with a grin. “Y/N’s mission from Monday got extended last night, so now she won’t be back until tomorrow morning.”
Wanda glared at Natasha before going back to pouring her cereal.
“Come on, Nat,” Steve says as he walks in. “I think it’s sweet.”
“Hey, I never said it wasn’t,” Natasha says, holding up her hands in surrender.
Wanda’s frown deepened, despite the truthfulness to everything they were saying.
“Come on, Wanda,” Steve said as he came around the counter to pat the witch on her back. “Just one more day.”
Wanda nodded quietly, making her way back to her bedroom to eat her cereal and wait for your return.
***
You came back at 6AM, and your face softened as you saw Wanda laying on top of your covers, very clearly having been waiting for your return by the sitcom still running on your TV in the background.
Carefully you kneeled beside her on the bed, gently shaking her awake.
Wanda stirred awake slowly, looking around disoriented before she saw your face, her eyes lighting up and immediately wrapping her arms around you. “You’re back,” she whispered.
“I was only gone 3 days,” you reply in amusement.
“Don’t care,” Wanda says, hugging you tighter.
You hug her back in return, letting go after a few minutes to go take a shower and change into your pajamas, and Wanda doing the same.
Then, at 6:30AM, the two of you go to bed together, and spend the rest of the day wrapped in each other’s arms.
***
“So, what is it you want my help with?” Natasha asks, secretly gleeful at seeing the shy side of Wanda for once behind all her sharp edges.
“I want you to help me set up Y/N’s birthday party,” Wanda says shyly, looking down at her shoes.
“Oh, Wanda, we’re gonna have a blast,” Natasha replies, walking over to Wanda and wrapping an arm around her shoulder, leading her to go grab the supplies.
***
Wanda would never admit it, except maybe to you, but she wanted everything to be absolutely perfect for your birthday.
You had been the only one to help her when she needed it, and every time she felt like she was too sharp, too mean, too prickly, you accepted her with unwavering kindness.
You were the only thing that made Wanda feel seen after Pietro’s death.
And so, she needed you to see how grateful she was with everything inside of her.
“Okay, so we’re gonna get balloons, streamers, the food and drinks, cutlery, decorations, then the cake tomorrow?” Wanda asks Natasha as the two grab everything for your birthday tomorrow.
“Yep, Tony’s money is finally going towards something useful,” Natasha says, making Wanda look over towards her curiously. “Your love for your girlfriend,” she explains.
Wanda slaps Nat’s arm in return, though she does end up blushing for the next 5 minutes.
***
“Oh, god, what if she doesn’t like it?” Wanda asks, nervous since it’s only one hour before you’re supposed to arrive back at the compound.
Natasha pats Wanda on the back reassuringly. “It’s gonna be fine, Wanda. Truthfully it came from you, and she loves anything you do for her no matter what.”
Wanda nods, nervously playing with her rings in anticipation.
“Can she hurry back already,” Sam groans. “I wanna eat the cake already.
Wanda glares angrily at him.
“Careful, Sam,” Nat warns playfully. “If you mess that cake up a single bit Wanda might magic you into a pickled herring.”
Sam looks over to Wanda who’s eyes glow red in a threatening manner.
Sam holds up his arms in surrender.
Wanda ends up switching between being nervous and stopping Sam, Bucky, and Tony from accidentally doing something that might harm your party, and suddenly an hour has gone by.
“Y/N’s on her way back right now!” Tony calls out after asking FRIDAY. “She’s gonna be up here in two minutes!”
“Okay, everyone hide!” Natasha yells out, grabbing Wanda to hide with her behind the counter as everyone sprawls out across the upstairs floor.
“Please say she likes it, please say she likes it,” Wanda mutters under her breath in her hiding place so no one can hear her.
Though Nat’s absurdly good hearing foils her plan. “She’ll love it, Wanda.”
Wanda hums in response, taking a reassuring breath before waiting to surprise you.
“Thirty seconds everyone!” Tony calls out after FRIDAY notifies him on his watch.
3…2…1…
“Happy birthday, Y/N!” Everyone calls out after you finally make your way up the stairs.
You barely register the shock before you’re smiling widely.
“This was all Wanda,” Nat tells you, causing you to look towards the witch who looks incredibly sheepish.
“Everyone helped,” Wanda mumbles.
“Really?” you shake your head before making your way over to your girlfriend and kissing her fiercely. “Thank you,” you whisper.
“I needed a way to show you how grateful I am that you saved me,” Wanda tells you.
“Well, you saved me too,” you reply. “You made everything so much better.”
Wanda’s eyes light up at your confession, and she hugs you tightly, causing you to laugh and wrap your arms around her.
“Now, how about we enjoy my birthday together, hm? This will be the best one yet because of you.”
Could you write just a cute fic where Wanda and reader do a bunch of autumn season activities. Like Wanda loves to bake so she makes some halloween themed desserts with the help of reader (who in reality just makes a mess and eats all the ingredients).
Wanda would also probably be the type to just want to take a walk because she likes seeing the trees that change color, and of course reader wouldn’t listen when Wanda told her to dress warm so Wanda sacrifices her scarf or hat or both for her to wear instead.
Then for halloween all the avengers could dress up in costumes to hand out candy to the kids, and reader would convince Wanda to do a couples costume.

“Hey, Nat, have you seen Wanda?” you ask the assassin in the compound.
Nat shrugs. “I’m pretty sure she’s making ghost cookies, pumpkin cookies, and a witch-shaped cake on a broom. Which is odd because couldn’t she just make a self-portrait–”
“Got it, thanks Nat!” you cut her off, running in the direction of your girlfriend.
Stopping in the kitchen, you grin at the sight before you. Wanda was in deep focus, mixing a bunch of cake batter in various bowls, trying her best to bake to perfection. However, she was covered in flour, food coloring, and every baking ingredient you could think of had somehow stained her apron.
“Witchy,” you greet, walking over towards her.
“Y/N!” Wanda’s eyes light up before you as she makes her way over, giving you a tight hug before you could protest.
“Wands,” you say, as Wanda refuses to let go.
“Hm?” Wanda hums.
“You’re covered in every baking ingredient in America,” you say, snickering.
Wanda gasps, immediately letting go and seeing your shirt stained with everything that was on her apron. “I’m so sorry, detka! I’ll go get you a new shirt and change this apron– I didn’t even realize–”
“Wands, don’t worry,” you cut off. “You’re not really baking if you’re not covered in head to toe in flour and confectioner’s sugar.”
Wanda grins in response.
“Besides, I came over here to help you, since it looked like fun and I haven’t seen you yet today,” you reassure.
“Oh!” Wanda says excitedly. “Yes, that would be so much fun. Okay, so I need some help with the ghost cookies since the frosting is a little tricky cause it’s a different kind than the pumpkin ones, so let’s do that!” Wanda grabs your hand and begins to lead you to the kitchen.
You grab a measuring cup and start getting to work per Wanda’s instructions.
Two hours later, you and Wanda are still hard at work.
“Detka, I think the kitchen is even messier with you than when I started. And that’s saying something since it looked like a flour bomb had gone off in front of me,” Wanda giggles.
“Hey, you put me to work, woman,” you say, grabbing a piece of cookie dough and munching on it.
“And you’ve mostly just eaten our ingredients.”
“You put candy in front of me, you can’t expect me not to eat it,” you shrug. “Plus, we’re basically almost done now! We’ve just got to put everything in the oven.” You grin. “What do you say to your wonderful girlfriend?”
“Don’t eat all the marshmallows next time?” Wanda retorts with her arms crossed.
You give her a look, causing Wanda to finally let her smile shine through.
“Fine, thank you, I love you,” Wanda gives you a kiss.
“I love you too, my grumpy Sokovian witch.”
And by the end of the day, every treat you and Wanda had worked so hard on has been eaten by a member of the compound.
***
“Baby,” Wanda shakes you lightly on the couch as you sleep on top of her chest.
“Hm?” you hum sleepily.
“Let’s go for a walk,” Wanda says.
“Why?” you ask, looking at Wanda confusedly. “We rarely take walks.”
“That’s why we should start!” Wanda responds. “I want to see the leaves change color, please,” Wanda stretches out the last syllable and gives you a pleading look.
“Fine,” you agree reluctantly.
“Thank you!” Wanda says, giving you a kiss. “I’m gonna grab my coat, you grab yours too since it’s cold.”
But, of course, you don’t listen to your incredibly smart girlfriend.
Two minutes into your walk, in which Wanda’s already gushed about seven yellow trees, eight red trees, and five orange trees, you’re completely freezing, and trying your best to hide your shivers.
But, of course, Wanda notices.
And silently, Wanda wraps her scarf around your neck and gives you her hat, pulling you into your arms as you continue your walk down the beautiful trail.
***
“Wanda, come on, it’ll be fun!” you argue, the morning of Halloween.
“I don’t know,” Wanda says reluctantly as you show her the peanut butter and jelly costume you had bought for the two of you. Wanda was going to be the jelly, of course.
“Please, witchy?” you give her your best pleading look to which Wanda’s incapable of saying no to.
“Fine,” Wanda agrees. “But you owe me,” she says, grabbing the costume and going into the bathroom to change.
“You got it,” you agree, yelling past the door.
The kids love yours and Wanda’s costume, every single child who’s rang the doorbell and said trick or treat has pointed out your costume, making Wanda blush every time.
“Trick or treat!” the last group of kids said in unison as Steve opened the compound door.
“It’s the Avengers!” one of them remarked.
“You guys are so cool,” another one said.
“Hey, you guys are the best couple!” a girl, about five years younger than you pointed at you and Wanda. “I love you guys so much.”
“Aw, we love you,” you respond, giving her a few extra pieces of candy as well as her friends.
The kids take a few pictures with a couple of you, and you wave as they leave, “Have a great evening!” you call out.
Closing the door, Steve turns to you all, “I think we’re good for tonight, goodnight everyone,” he says, heading off in the direction of his room.
You turn to Wanda with a grin. “So, wasn’t the costume worth it?”
