In the desert foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, Pima County, Arizona.
Sun beams over the solitary hill, J-Six Ranch, Cochise County, Arizona.
Beautiful.
Gowron seems like a perfect psychological motivator for Miles. Right?
Tisā the season. With stores running out of toilet paper once more, it seemed fitting.
Arizona Barrel Cactus (Ferocactus wislizeni), in the arid grassland near Mescal, Cochise County, Arizona.
What is better than the ability to walk inside an outcrop? This can be done at Parajd, Harghita, Romania, where a massive salt dome has been mined since the time of the Romans, through the Ottoman period, through Communism, to the European Union!
Parajd salt mine is a popular tourist destination, where an amusement park has been built, inside one of the mined out salt chambers.Ā
I had a great time visiting the place!
Incredible!
We lost Aron Eisenberg a year ago today. Passed beyond the veil, above the clouds, and into the stars above. His character on DS9 grew up from a listless teenager and found purpose to be the first Ferengi to serve in Starfleet. More importantly, his character represented how people should not be stereotyped based on who they were perceived to be, but on who they actually are. Rest well, Aron.
If this resonates with you at all PLEASE, for your benefit, go read this tweet thread on āfawningā
Thereās such enormous power in naming and understanding things, isnāt there š
Oh shit
The tweet author also made this into an article, available here.
Thank you for sharing that link!
Lots of peeps on this post have asked things like āso what do I do about this?ā which the twitter thread gets into but I know many will find the article more readable and it expands further and has additional resources. Check it out!
āI avoided those relationships where love was free and easy. Because it didnāt feel āearned,ā so I didnāt feel worthy.ā
Aint that the truth.

what drugs were they on when they made this
Cab Calloway rotascoped!
Whoever thought of this was drinking absinthe
Thanks, Now I have nightmares
this was long before cartoons were ever thought of as āfor kidsā, the target audience of this one was roughly 20-40 betty boop cartoons featuring cab calloway singing, yes, but slang has changed so much you dont realize he was singing about opium, sugar daddies, death, weed, sex, booze, and gambling back when gambling was nearly as tabboo as sex and drugs. āminnie the moocherā where cab calloway is a dancing walrus is specifically about someone who does literally everything on that list but die
most of the animation studios had their āthingā to make their animation stand out, disney had fluid motion linked with quality music, warner brothers had top notch dialogue with carefully crafted facial expressions, MGM had comedic timing down to the individual frame that no live action comedian could dream of achieving, terrytoons had the budget of a ham sandwitch and a fistfull of nickels fleischer studios however had authentic jazz and heavy toned subject matter, often crossing the line of what we think of asĀ ācartoon violenceā into realistic
idk why this is making me so emotional???
I love this. Iāve always had a love for cartoons
Cab Calloway, he was a legend performer and entertainer, although heās listed as a jazz singer he did much more with his voice, his singing style and delivery was very unique. Cab (with his band) was the first black artist to sell over a million copies of a single record and he paved the way for many artists to come. Happy Black History Month.
sorry to make this long post longer, but I feel like it needed some actual photos of Cab Calloway, who is, in fact, the greatest

You canāt love someone more than you can love yourself.
Reference to a biblical passage told to me by a high school teacher. In some ways, it makes sense. It doesnāt mean to have a narcissistic and self centered ego, but to be able to find peace with who you are and who you can be. The ability to love is directly tied to an individual sense of self. Persons who have self hatred will eventually project it onto a person they may have feelings for or someday, out of the blue, just cut that person out.
