Yep, this is a real problem. From a design stand point it saves fabric and time since you don’t have to add any darts or pockets, and they go with the premise that a flat square shape should fit everyone without having to make much changes to the pattern (except to make it bigger or smaller). This whole one-size-fits-all mentality in fashion is so flawed, and actually impractical, it really annoys me how teachers let it slide in college and how the apparel industry continues to spew it year after year.

As someone who has breasts (DDD-H depending on what manufacturer I’m talking to) and loves pockets, let me wholeheartedly recommend eshakti.com. I started buying dresses from them in November and I love them. They will customize necklines, hemlines, etc., for a $9.95 flat fee, they will customize to your measurements if you don’t fit a standard size, and I’ve really enjoyed all my dresses from them. THEY HAVE MODEST OPTIONS!!

@ ladies of Catholic Tumblr, hijab-wearing gals, sensitive-skinned or heavily-scarred individuals, or anyone who feels more comfortable with more coverage – every dress I looked at had hemline options. Be no longer confined by the drudgery of unnecessary-leggings-under-cute-skirt-that’s-just-a-LITTLE-too-short! (Note: not all of them had options to cover all the way to ankles and wrists, but all the ones I saw had options that AT LEAST: went to the knee, covered the shoulders*, and covered cleavage.)

{Also bears mentioning that a lot of these look like they’d be cute layering pieces. So even if you have to do a little mix-and-match to get full collarbone-to-wrist-to-ankle coverage, you can make it look like a fashion choice instead of several pieces of awkward-fitting clothing duct taped together under a trench coat.}

A lot of them also had options for different neckline shapes – which is great if you’re like me and you find that certain necklines are really unflattering, or are majorly in love with a specific neckline that’s usually hard to find (ahem, Queen Anne & non-sleeveless-sweetheart)

I haven’t ordered from them yet, so I can’t speak for quality, but just scrolling through it looks amazing. Will definitely hit them up next time I need to stock up on work or dressy clothes.

MORE THREATENINGLY Raw wheat can carry E. Coli. However, if you don’t mind making your own cookie dough, you can easily make it safely.

Take your standard recipe. Omit the eggs. Eggs serve as a binding agent to hold the cookie together. Since we’re eating the dough raw, that’s not needed. Take the flour, put it in a pan and bake it at 350 for 7 minutes. Any E. Coli is now dead.

Just mix the rest of the ingredients together as the recipe is called for and BAM, perfectly safe edible cookie dough.

Remove the White Supremacists

Dear Tumblr @staff, 

In light of the recent white supremacist terror attacks worldwide: 

We, the Tumblr community (your community), implore you to change your previously passive policy against white supremacy and white nationalist extremist ideologies. 

Every major news station, social expert, and experts on extremist ideologies have identified that these extremist ideologies are spread and grown on online platforms: specifically social platforms. They have identified the major ways that communities can confront these violent extremist views; the biggest one being for social media groups to actually start removing user accounts that post and spread extremist white nationalist dog whistles, memes, and rhetoric.

Your users are begging for your help in stemming the rising tide of xenophobic violence. As has become evident by the recent terrorist attack in Christchurch, New Zealand, these ideologies don’t begin with violence, but with strategically spouted rhetoric and hate speech that riles up others who are vulnerable to being persuaded by their subtle methods. 

Please.  If you support the safety of your users.  If you support the Muslim Community. If you support the Jewish Community.  If you support People of Color.  If you support your users regardless of color or religious background. 

Then it’s time to start taking a proactive stance against extremist white supremacist and nationalist ideologies and remove them.

Okay everyone I need a little help, since December 18th my blog has been marked as explicit. However, I never have posted anything that would be considered as explicit or that goes against the community guidelines. I've done the tumblr.com/support form close to 20 times since December. I even sent the @staff an ask and emails and the only thing I've gotten back was the notice the they received the request. Two of my friends has their blogs marked as explicit and @thebluewater7 had hers get fixed that night after she sent the request and @glimmerystarlight had hers fixed within five minutes of the request being sent. I've sent pictures of my blog and screenshots for postlimit like others and still I got nothing.

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?

This last season of Voltron is horrible. I feel bad for the voice actors. Honestly, this is on the Fox level of messing up on Firefly bad. Someone get the rights and redo and it and redo it right. I don’t know what I was hoping for but this was not it. I can’t even express into words how bad this was.

You put the plastic on the windows to stop the heat from leaking out of your house from between the panes, through the glass itself, and where the window is attatched to the rest of the house.  This does make a drastic difference in the temeprature of your house and the amount of gas/electricity needed to keep it warm.

Some other Winter Things:

If you think there’s going to be an exceptionally deep freeze, you open up all the cabinets in the house to warm the air in there and keep the pipes from freezing/bursting.

If you’re going to be away for a while in winter, it’s adviseable to turn your water off to avoid the same.

Putting an electric Blanket between your topcover and bedsheet and pre-heating your bed for half an hour so you don’t get a chill going to bed.

Applying literal vasaline to your lips if you’re going to be in the cold for an extended time (more than 10-20 min, depending on latitude), becuase chapstick won’t cut it and your lips will split and bleed and HURT

Doing the same to your nose

Your tears go from liquid to gooey trying to produce a similar protection for your eyes.  You can also feel the water freeze on your eyes if you step directly out into the cold.

Also since I know you’re a socal person- in the far north you can get as little as eight hours of daylight. 7AM to 3 PM.  You need to by the most obnoxiously bright light possible and sit beside it or you will actually literally develop psychosis in some cases.  It’s 4:30 and you need to take the dog out? it’s pitch black out.

Everything is covered in ice, which will alternately cause you to slip and break something, burn, or actually tear off your skin.

Christmas and the pressure to be jolly is much stronger in places with Winter. Get your Holly Jolly On In this Frozen Black Hellscape!!!  It’s why people go real bananas on the holiday lights.  they’re trying to stave off the void.

Don’t forget snap freezing your nostrils closed as soon as you step outside as your body simultaneously makes you sniffle and post nasal drip trying to keep your sinuses lubed.

And fingerless gloves forget it. Can't use your phone to bad. Although you can get gloves that will work on touchscreens they just suck at keeping you warm in my opinion. And people willing go out and have fun in winter.
