Hi friends!
Life has been crazy...doing lots of high energy things at once (buying a house, adopting puppies, etc. etc.) And yet I'm somehow **shocked** that lil ol introverted, needs-days-to-decompress me isn't feeling creative.
BUT. I have been writing, and Hidden Things is on track to have a proper ending very soon. And possibly more??
Anyway, if anyone happens to check in here, thank you for loving on my works & waiting patiently. I'll be back very soon!

I haven't checked my voicemail in so long that Verizon "unsubscribed" me from the service??? Didn't even know that was an option lmao.
Yes, the introvert in me wants desperately to stay unsubscribed. But, alas, my 70 year-old parents will never, ever stop trying to leave me voicemails & sending subsequent text messages informing me that they can't.
I get blindsided by Billie inspo, and then all I want to do is write about this POS and her inability to be a well-rounded adult.
I had been stressing over giving my two weeks at work all weekend & my fiance was like, "The worst thing that'll happen is you'll cry."
And I VEHEMENTLY denied this claim. I'm a huge hardass, definitely 100% will not cry, no way, filing divorce papers before the ink dries, mister.
Guess who cried in their boss's office & got a sympathy hug for being the softest girl?
Today the real, actual, legitimate temperature is 6 degrees with a wind chill of -16. I also happen to be the proud owner of what some may consider a demonic entity: a chihuahua.
He is not only angry about the sweater he has to wear given the conditions, but he is personally offended that the air is so cold.
He's so mad, that he snubbed the treat he gets for going outside.
In true motherly fashion, I couldn't help but laugh at him. And now he's mad at me, too. Pray for my mortal soul.
I have a problem, and it's called: Ignoring that Google Docs exists & instead abusing the hell out of Gmail.
I will also blame the fact that my creativity, without fail, ramps up specifically when I'm outside trudging around w/ my senile, ancient golden retriever. Who has time to open a doc when you're reminding an old man he's got business to attend to, ya know?
My man likes when I write in the same room as him, but how do I politely tell him that his yelling at 13 y/o kids on Battlefield ain't setting the mood for the sensual love scene I'm working on???

So, I got engaged ~3 weeks ago. Figured, knowing my personality & the fact that I've been with my partner/lived with him long enough that it wouldn't be a big deal...
My God. The anxiety.
None of it matters. We're having a Quaker wedding b/c PA. We both hold grudges for 10,000 years, so no fam or friends beyond who we actually want to celebrate with. AND YET.
We're both like, "Are we supposed to be planning things already? Are we expected to announce progress!?"
Mind you, I don't even have a ring rn, so maybe that's making it feel less real? (Ring exists, I just have the hands of a child, so it had to be rebuilt lmao).
Idk. I just have no motivation to do things and yet my anxiety is straight up blasting to the moon.
TLDR: Culture around marriage is weird and I hate it.
'Hidden Things' needs the newest chapter edited, and a new summary, and better tags, anddddd instead I'm editing random scenes from 'Sneaky Things' that I ended up cutting in the final.

I'm always trying to write that like weird little 'in love' moment when the person you love does something so vulnerable and sweet that it just melts you into goo??
Mine is when my partner, this tall, broad, lives-in-the-garage, motorcycle riding, Carolina mountain man, serenades our dogs with 2000's dance hits. And they LIVE for it. Like gather around at his feet like they're at a damn Beatles concert. Ugh, it's too cute.
Not me getting irrationally angry when I'm trying to map out plot lines to my driving-to-work soundtrack & some jagoff has the audacity to drive like a lunatic near me and totally break my immersion.
The only music I've been able to tolerate while writing 'Hidden Things' are emo/punk hitz from the early aughts. Needless to say, shit is ~moody~.
I primarily write at my dining room table (bc it's right next to the coffee maker, tbh). I have written so much goddamn smut at this table that I've managed to like Pavlov's Dog myself into thinking about sex every time I'm eating a meal here now. That's fine, right?
